Purchased the Dremel 8260, it was quite literally used a handful of times and stored well according to the manual after no more than 4-5 light uses the battery refused to charge, this seems to be a recurring theme. 100% not worth the money when a new battery is half the cost of the overall product and a known failure. A sheer waste of money. Show details

not good enough dremel – what kind of dodgy company creates a starter kit, includes all sorts of acccessories in the same pack they sell you and I discover half the pieces don't fit...and then this in the instructions "4 different collets...sold seperately" seriously you include the pieces in the starter pack bundle and don't include the right collets...you people are frauds and deceptive and sell very bad uselss products Show details

Such a reliable electric tool – Hello, I have owned the Dremel 8220 for a while now and it's my 'go to' piece of equipment. I am a mosaicist so having a reliable easy to use electronic tool is great. I run several workshops throughout the year and my students have become quite apt when using the Dremel. Results are satisfying with many students feeling accomplished having learnt the skill of operating this tool Show details

Handy, but expensive to use and maintain – First, never buy a lithium battery dremel. They are exorbitantly expensive, hold bugger all charge, and are engineered to be irreparable. While dremel accessories, have a good range, most are poorly made and expensive. Best to avoid. Show details

Great when it's not dead – I've bought 2 dremels in the past year and have had 2-3 uses out of each before it just... Stops working. Completely dead after the equivalence of 3-4hrs work. My oldest dremel is a hit and miss, i bought it a year and a half ago and the power dips down low before it goes back up and has completely blown several glass and timber projects to bits.… Read more

As far as I'm concerned, this is a great "concept" or "temporary tool" and I only recommend this as a temporary replacement until you find something that actually runs. (I paid around $99 for each set from Bunnings Warehouse, Australia)

Underpowered 8220. Not as advertised – The box even depicts the 8220 max. You see the max on the battery. Online this particular Dremel doesn’t exist. Even the Dremel official site doesn’t display it as a product unless you exactly search for Dremel 8220 au. Then it appears but with mixed info. Mine feels badly under power and nothing I can find out about it

Utter confusion over Australian model – On all Dremel websites (US, UK, Australia) this tool is specified with a 2 amp-hour 12-volt maximum battery, and is quoted to last 33% longer than the 1.5 amp-hour 10.8-volt Dremel 8200. Actual pack contents contain the lesser battery pack, and are missing the light specified in the websites, despite having the 8220-1/28 designation on the… Read more

packaging. I cannot confirm whether the tool itself is a 8220 or the older 8200 because the stickers, the data on the packaging and on the website simply do not agree.

Compared with early US-produced Dremel tools, this Mexican product lacks the finish I would expect from Robert Bosch, but nevertheless is delightful to use with very little vibration even at maximum speed. Is it the 8220 or the 8200? I really do not know. Is this deceptive and misleading? I think so. Caveat emptor

Did the job – Needed something to remove grout from around tiles in shower recess in ensuite. This did the trick but required 3 grout removal drill bits to do so - they snap... The cost of the bit and guide was 1/2 the price of just the bit alone - which was weird. Not happy about having to buy the extra two... So operator error? Grout too hard? I'm not a handy… Read more

person and watched quite a few you tube videos on how to... At times the dremel skipped out of the grout area and scratched the tiles. The battery life seemed quite good however I have nothing to compare it to. Cordless was a good way to go so I wasn't tripping over the cord. Now use it for trimmimg my dogs nails. Having more success with this!
