He called the police and I waited until they arrived as I wanted this resolved. The police said that the business had the right to refuse to serve me, despite me not raising my voice or being threatening in any way. They also said the company needed to refund what I had paid as they would not provide the service. I contacted the car rental company and they said I had to call economy bookings, I did this multiple times and was told I needed to apply for my refund via email. I did this and finally got a reply 11 days later. It is now 8 weeks later and they have already tried a few other terms and conditions traps. The latest is that they cannot refund as I didn't have an international drivers permit (I did have it and it wasn't requested). I imagine I will receive an email in another 3 weeks with another "reason" why they cannot refund me. In summary, I paid for the car and the rental company representative refused to serve me. I have approached both companies for a refund of the payment of the service I was refused. If you use economy bookings, pray that you do not need any service (or a car).

I paid in full and submitted my request for a refund with the email showing my cancelled flight. A week later I received an email stating how they could not issue a refund because them and the rental company incur a loss of operating expenses (though I cancelled 24 hours in advance). When I was able to get a new flight I tried to contact support again to see if I could reinstate my reservation within 30 minutes of the cancellation and was told they could not. I ended up reserving a car through Expedia, which was comparable in price and my experience was the easiest to work with. They also have free cancellation through your reservation time and do not require payment until you pickup the vehicle. I was able to cancel one car two hours before pickup due to missing my connecting flight in Paris. I was then able to schedule a new vehicle and pickup time along with child seat within minutes and it took a maximum of 10 minutes to pickup the vehicle once we arrived. The price was also comparable, only £30 more for the five-day reservation. NEVER go with Economy Booking, you get what you pay for I guess.

Transaction with EasiRent occurred on 10/11/2025 and the transaction with Economy Bookings occurred on 10/6/2025. I paid Easirent the $382.17 upfront to pick the car up in Salt Lake City Airport and drop if off at Phoenix Airport. But when I went to pick up the car at Easirent, they said I had to pay a one way fee of $400 and then charged me $118.99 for miscellaneous taxes even though the terms said local taxes are included in the cost I paid EconomyBookings upfront. "E-wallet" refund just 24 hours after issuing it. More recently, another partner refused three of my major credit cards, demanding a cash deposit or a physical card I didn't have. EconomyBooking's support is non-existent. They use automated messages to delay responses-first promising a 4-day turnaround, then 7, then 14-seemingly hoping customers will simply give up. I have kept all documentation and strongly advise everyone to book elsewhere.

the car from Alpha cars in Mascot after hours and returned after hours 3 days later. 2 days later my bond of $1000 was kept and and another $4400 was taken out for damage to the car which at this point we were not aware of and car also had not been assessed by panel beater. Alpha cars advised me I should have taken out insurance with them- not a 3rd party. Long story short car was kept with Alpha cars for over 3 months and finally the scratch over front wheel was repaired. With all charges including admin, time off road , panelbeating final cost was $1175.75 (Aus). Money less charges retained by alpha cars was then returned and all paper work forwarded.
I submitted all required paper work to Economy bookings for them to process claim and 2 -3 weeks later I was advised claim had been approved and money in my ewallet. Email came with some very confusing instructions on how to access money in ewallet and I could use or transfer money. In ewallet I could see money but no option to transfer. I emailed economy bookings for assistance but got none - but I finally found section in claim where I could transfer. I was advised in email I could transfer to original payment method but no credit card option. which was my payment method. Also not only did I have to enter bank account details but had to do as an international transfer ( using IBAN number, SWIFT number etc ). Did all this and it has now been 2 months, no money and contacted my bank in Australia who stated that they had not received any money. Despite multiple emails to economy bookings - I still have no answers just one email stating transfer complete (I kept photo of transfer details form so know bank account correct)- I can only assume they are scammers. Between Economy Bookings and Alpha cars this was a very stressful expensive experience- neither company offer any customer service over phone and very little email contact.

cars, none of which were like the one I had booked, but I agreed to take one of them.
The agent then asked to inspect my credit card - I was uncomfortable about him looking at the back of it and his noting of the security number.
He then said he could not accept the card as it only had 5 months credit before expiry and they required 6 months credit after the rental period.
I have been renting cars every year for 30 years and I’ve never heard of such a ridiculous rule.
I offered another card, which he refused too, he said it was because it did not have embossed numbers on it and he was cancelling my booking and keeping the deposit.
Most credit cards do not use embossed lettering now.
I went to the kiosk next to this agent (called Goldcar) and hired the car I wanted in a few minutes.
EconomyBookings refused to return my deposit and I had to go through my bank to get it done.
These companies, EconomyBooking & SurPrice, have a very bad reputation and the [Content Removed] is not only theft, it could also ruin your vacation if it happens in the high season, with no other available cars to rent.
Follow-up · The responses to issues raised with EconomyBookings are from a Bot named Alex and are completely unhelpful. It's bad enough that they are running an organised [Content Removed], but the AI Bot replies are an insulting waste of the customer's time too. I wish someone would start a class action against them.
