More tool and less toy than I'd expected – This is my first blower of any kind; for years I’d thought rake-n-broom sufficient. But then I had a professional gardener do some work and he produced one of these (EGO POWER+ 56V 1 x 2.5Ah 900m3/h Blower Kit LB5302E) and he cleaned up a ‘pebble-stream’ we’d put in as a decoration years ago, which was totally clogged with leaves and a bit of a… Read more

fire-hazard. The last time we’d cleaned this, we’d run the pebbles through a cement mixer! Seeing how he got a 90% job in minutes, I looked into it. Eventually decided on the exact same tool on the main criteria of noise & ‘push’. We got it on special at Total Tools – identical items were up to $100 more expensive elsewhere. It seemed a bit of a Father’s Day indulgence, but it has proved more useful than I’d expected. I’d thought it would be a one-trick pony, a bit of an air-broom for paths and especially that ‘pebble garden’, but it’s proved much more useful. A drain that is prone to clogging and a major job to expose to get at the ‘mulch’ – turned out to be doable just with the machine and making a lot of use of the boost function. Going back on a second day when the remnant had dried out was also productive. Sweeping driveways and paths, including a public footpath near our house, is now a few minutes stroll rather than aerobic exercise with a broom. Any blower works best if you have a target place for the blown material (garden bed or mulch-heap). Other options can include cross neighbours! We also got the gutter-cleaning attachment ($129, also Total Tools). I was a little disappointed with this; Pros: it does save an old guy climbing a ladder, gets the worst (if dry); Cons: it doesn’t do quite as thorough a job as is needed, and it’s close to ‘forget it’ if the leaves have mulched or are wet. So someone has to climb a ladder anyway, to check that there’s not more blockages awaiting with the struts of the roof-gutters. Tip: push ‘uphill’ – away from the downpipe. Pros: * more useful than expected * Makes short work of sweeping paths and odd crannies * Not too noisy, but use earmuffs anyway! * ‘Boost’ function works very well (and is slightly addictive) Cons: * Battery-life for all but an ordinary suburban block; get two batteries! * Shop around: identical items are available for far-from-identical price.

Ego getting too over confident and product quality decreasing – I used to love the Ego products and was replacing my tools with ego but not anymore. They have started to sell the blowers without the nozzle and when I queried about it they told me they don’t sell them separately and I could buy an aftermarket nozzle from Amazon! Seriously?! Very poor response from Ego. Won’t be buying their product again. Show details

Love it. Top notch powertool – Has considerably more power than my old petrol blower. -But it was a homelite cheapy. Has a speed control on normal range, and then the turbo button for delivering full power. It's quiet enough to use without earmuffs if you so choose. (I am not recommending that BTW) Nice weight with the 2.5AH battery. A bit heavy when I tested it with the 5AH… Read more

one from my chainsaw into it, but is still fine for most quick jobs. I would stick with the 2.5AH, in fact I'll use that one in the chainsaw as well. These tools are mostly plastic, but it feels well-built and of high quality materials in construction. I have nothing bad to say about it. Wish I bought one sooner. I think I'll be doing more clean-up work around my place now, and that's not just the novelty aspect, it's because it's just so easy to use. With electric you can put it down to pick things up or do other jobs, have a cup of tea etc etc, and then just pick it up and press the trigger and off you go again. No pulling starter cords.

If the Li-Ion batteries last 10-15 years like they should, I am happy enough to cop the expense of replacing them in future. Time will tell on this. I charge them off a solar power setup in my shed. Free power (-until a new battery is required.)

The only the down side, would be the cost of the kit compared to a petrol machine. I think petrol machines have dropped in price due to the competition from battery blowers too. A replacement battery is in the order of $200 currently.

Blower is great, but the batteries – This is a great blower, I've had mine for nearly 5 years.. after using 18V blowers.. I cant believe I was putting up with that lack of power. The turbo button gets used a lot to really move large volumes of 'whatever'. Occasionally your shirt will get sucked into the mesh over the engine.. but thats a small thing. Mine actually did have a fault,… Read more

but the Ego warranty is really good for domestic use, I think its 2 or 3 yrs.. basically you can take things back and they will fix or replace.

The only big issue I have is their batteries can have this issue where they get red rings and dont work all of a sudden.. I have 2 and usually 1 is playing up, but they are all out of warranty now.. but the warranty is good.. I just am reluctant to keep buying Ego products as their is a lot of money invested in the batteries.. but I like their tools and pricing is good.. so do your research on that one, its a tough call.

Decent blower but rather expensive – As I already possessed a battery Makita Blower , I wasn’t in the market for another. However, I purchased an EGO Lawnmower which (at the time) came with a bonus EGO Blower which came in the box so not even requiring redemption. Setting up the blower was very easy. Click on the blower tube, attach the battery (using the same one supplied with the… Read more

mower) and off you go. Being a bonus offer, the blower is only supplied as a “skin”. This means no separate battery or charger is supplied. You need to supply this separately or, as in this case, use the battery and charger supplied with the mower. Hear-in lies the first problem. The battery for the mower is by necessity a large battery and the larger the battery, the heavier it is. This mower battery was a 7.5Ah battery meaning it is quite heavy and while mounted in a four wheeled mower is not a problem, attaching it to a relatively light blower which must then be handheld can make for very tiring extended use. Ideally, EGO should have supplied a shoulder strap but that is an additional cost accessory. Fortunately, I have a 2.5Ah battery supplied with my EGO Edge Trimmer and this proved to be the sweet spot in power longevity versus ponderous weight. The blower weighs in at about 3.5kg (including 2.5Ah battery).

If you purchase this blower, be aware it will cost RRP $279 as a “skin” which will then require further investment of around $84 for the charger and a further RRP $199 for the battery. That’s an all up minimum of $562 if this is going to be your one and only purchase of an EGO tool. Moving on from the expense, this is a decent blower. It feels comfortable in the hand with a soft and easy reach to the trigger (index finger) and “Turbo” button (thumb). Handgrip is suitable for both left and right handers. The rest of the tool appears to be made with quality plastics and EGO supplies a 5 year warranty for this (3 years for charger and battery if you need to purchase these separately). Positioning of the battery provides a good balance with centre of gravity being right at the handgrip. Performance wise the machine does a good job for domestic garden debris blowing and similar. Battery life is stated by EGO at around 75minutes with a 2.5Ah battery. However, I would imagine this would be at the lowest setting on the variable speed control. Also, extended use use of the “Turbo” button (providing significantly more powerful blowing for short periods) will certainly have a noticeable impact on battery life. In my use, I find it works fine with the speed set to “full” and with only very occasional short bursts of “turbo” where I’ll get around 30-45 minutes of use. EGO claims air movement of 440 – 675 m³/hr (variable control) up to a maximum of 900 m³/hr (turbo). For most domestic yards, I feel this would be more than adequate. Using the standard charger (again with the 2.5Ah battery) it takes around 50 minutes to fully charge from “empty”, however, using the rapid charger (supplied with my mower) this time shortens to just under 30 minutes.

Apart from the initial expense (you really need to have other EGO products to share batteries/chargers around), the only other thing I can fault is EGO not supplying a “flat nozzle” (see last picture below). As supplied, the nozzle just ends in an 80mm circular orifice. While this is adequate, the blower does work better with the flat nozzle attached thus giving a more concentrated air stream. EGO is not alone in this as my Makita blower also was lacking this “accessory”. You may want to factor in the addition of this (approx $30) accessory.

Overall, I would recommend this blower based on it’s performance but only if you have already have or intend to purchase other EGO tools so as to share the battery and charger around.

I liked: * Build quality * Decent performance * Warranty length * Not as loud as other blowers I have used * Flat stand underneath t prevent it “rolling over” when placed on the ground * Claimed weather resistance * Enclosed intake means less chance of sucking in your loose clothing when in use

I didn’t like: * Rather expensive if you do not already have or are not intending to purchase other EGO tools * Lack of flat nozzle being - only supplied as an extra cost accessory * May need to purchase the shoulder strap accessory for extended use periods

Wish I'd bought one years ago – I've owned a corded blower/ vacuum/ mulcher for many years but it only gets dragged out when there is a major pile of leaves to get rid of. The Ego is a lot more convenient and gives a better result than spending 10x longer using a broom. The variable speeds are very handy- on the lower 3 I can blow leaves out the garden beds without blowing the… Read more

scoria mulch everywhere. I rarely use the "Turbo" highest speed, but have found it useful for knocking the dying leaves off tall trees instead of letting nature take it's course.

The battery run time (using a pair of older 56V 2.5Ah batteries) is very good considering how powerful it is. Note: the smallest 2.5Ah batteries aren't recommended on the more powerful Ego blowers.

PS: I noticed another review saying the battery cuts out - that would indicate the battery needs charging or is faulty. The older Ego batteries (like mine) only have a green or red light to indicate the charge level (pretty useless to be honest.) The newer batteries have a multilevel charge indicator- like other brand power tool manufacturers.

I have submitted a warranty claim on a different Ego tool (via Email) and they were very quick to respond and give me the details on where to take it for repair.

Keeps cutting out – I bought this blower and was quickly disappointed to find it cutting out and having to wait for it to reset. The more power I gave it the quicker it cuts out. Asked me to fill out forms still waiting to resolve the issue. No blower in the mean time may have to buy another one in the interim. Different brand of course. Show details

Stood the test of time – We have owned this blower for approx 7 years now and it has not skipped a beat. I even use the blower for house cleaning, by blowing out the dust from behind apiances and under the lounge. We have now added to our collection a whippersnipper and chainsaw. Love love love Ego brand. Show details

EGO's good! – Bought one of these 11 months ago ... "skin" only. We already have an EGO weedeater and hedge trimmer, and the batteries are interchangeable. The blower is light, very manoeuvrable, beautifully designed, and mighty powerful. Power well adjustable via a slider switch. At any time "turbo power" can be brought online in short bursts via a separate… Read more

control, and this one really shouldn't be underestimated. You almost have to brace for the recoil ....

Perfect for blowing off the tractor/mower after use. The big test was a neglected 12X6M shed out the back of our rural property whose gutters were rusting due to ... well ... neglect. That little machine chucked the 10 year accumulation of rotting humus and damp soil out of those gutters with gusto. Given that I was using turbo power virtually the entire time, I had to swap batteries midway through ... but I was so darned impressed with the performance I simply didn't care!!

A real boon when blowing leaves off mother in law's roof - soooo much better than using her noisy mains powered machine and dragging the cord all over the roof while trying not to fall over it.

Very portable, with the nozzle being easily removable. Battery, like other EGO products, simply slides into place and engages positively into a latch.

Yet more validation to not go back to the gasoline alternative - ever. Recharge off solar = free fuel. EGO is keeping it up!!

Too good! – Researched for ages on reviews the found this review and it sold me on the Ego.... https://youtu.be/bswCWVuvzJs all the blowers are run on full power! So I bought the Ego and after using it I thought it may be too good for what I use it for! But I am so happy with it! it blows away everything. You can control the speed of the air with the trigger. My arm doesn’t get tired using it! If you got the cash, get it!! It’s not too noisy as well. Show details

Fabulous!! – My friend had one and fully recommended it and so i bought one and literally love it!! It takes about 5 minutes now to do the daily leaves and paths and one of the best things i have ever bought. I only got the 2.5 battery and it's great for three daily uses before needing to recharge. I thought it might be noisy but just the same noise as a… Read more

Excellent – I was skeptical of battery powered products at first but after reading so many positive things about Ego products, and also being an electrical engineer, I thought I would give them a go. Today I bought the blower and the multi tool with line trimmer and hedge trimmer attachments. I took the blower home today but the rest is on order. The… Read more

blower is quiet, lightweight and super powerful. It outperforms my neighbour's Stihl petrol blower AND without the noise and fuss that comes with petrol-powered products. Excellent build quality and ergonomics. Very happy.

Comes with 5 year tool and 3 year battery warranty. Hopefully won't need it.
