Ego Power+ Nexus Escape PAD1500E

Does Exactly What I Needed – The Ego Nexus escape is a 150W battery topper inverter that works with any Ego battery. It provides a two USB Outputs @ 5V, Max. 4.2A (two USB ports combined) and an AC Output @ 220V - 240V, Max. 150W. The Nexus slides onto the top of the battery and provides portable power. I already had Ego garden equipment and a number of Ego batteries / Chargers so only had to buy this as a skin, but a full kit is also available. Why did I buy it?. I live in a rural area, connected to the grid (for now) but with frequent and annoying power cuts. I bought a Gentrax 3.5kW Camping Inverter generator to run fridge, freezer and domestic water pump during outages. Having a number of Ego batteries I bought the Nexus to run our NBN Fixed wireless and home router / WiFi as we rely on WiFi calling at home and without NBN we have no mobile phones. The Nexus runs the NBN and home router boxes perfectly. A 5.0 Ah battery runs flawlessly for around 7 + hours, and allows us to charge phones as well. It runs a pure sine wave so is safer for electronic equipment than a non-inverter generator. A perfect solution, quiet and easy to swap from mains to the Nexus and back as required. A very useful addition in an area of frequent power cuts. I haven't used it out side that but I can certainly see the worth of it in many situations. Ego have just brought out a 400W version as well, for those needing greater power out. $149.00 for the Skin only and $299.00 for Nexus, charger and 2.5 Ah battery, as at time of this review.
