Ekodeck seems to be a decent alternative to Trex decking but it is still very expensive. My builder said it cost $6K out of the $9K decking job. Only time will tell if Ekodeck is good quality … Show details

Very happy just need to have matching coloured screws like other decks have.
Fantastic product easy to work with and even easier to cleanup compared to regular hardwood decking less fine dust from cuts. Very happy with then end results. Show details
I have both ekodeck decking and screen installed 6 months ago, still loving them as they are low maintenance, we can just soap and hose them down with water to clean not worrying they will deteriorate in some way. I just wonder how warranty works. Show details
Better than wood. Don't have to worry about oiling. Very easy to install. Show details

high-exposure areas. The boards install well, perform exactly as promised, and our customers are always impressed with the final outcome.
We confidently recommend Ekodeck to anyone looking for a premium composite decking solution and look forward to continuing to work with the brand on future projects.

Very easy to use. Constructed external alfresco as well as covered an existing concrete slab outside back door. Looks great and will use again. My son in law will use it as well for his new home after seeing what I have done. He said that he was impressed how I did it given I am over 70 years age. Have not yet finished as you can see from the photos as waiting for screen doors to arrive to complete. Show details

I had great experience with Eckdeck customer services team. Adam was great help and he even did a FaceTime to talk me through. Installation was super easy, just do you good research on breaker board and how you want it lay out. Overall, easy and highly recommended. Show details
I wanted a small deck built on moving into my new townhouse.. did my research and decided composite decking was the go. I requested the Ekodeck samples from you.. engaged your recommended installer to do the job. Mark from Kaymar Construction did amazing job with my little project. Super happy with results.. spray of water to get rid of any dust or dirt. Great product.. highly recommend. Show details
We chose the Designer series and used a local installer recommended by Ekodeck. This proved to be a good choice- 1. Price 2. Readily available. Bunnings are everywhere. 3. Looks great. 4. Good colour selection. 5. Cleaning is easy 6. Most important....almost no future maintenance. 7. Doesn't seem to scratch easily (so far....1mth in) General… Read more
comments- 1. Heat retention is not too bad. Doesn't seem much different to timber. 2. Expands under heat. Need adequate spacing 3. Seems to hold static electricity a bit. 4. A little more slippery than timber but not too bad.
Fairly good most get hot and do scratch if not careful tried several samples. Chose Ekodeck mainly for colour and fire rating which suited my job better. Not cheap to buy and install professionally. Need subfloor to add on. I used steel as near water. Great head office support from Ekodeck Show details
This is a great product, really easy to work with, the finish is great and it’s super low maintenance. Being able to nick up to Bunnings to pick up extra bits and pieces really makes jobs so much easier. I used the castellated panels in carbon with ironwood decking, it came up great! Show details

1st time DIY decking – Great product to work with. I am a DIY homeowner and the end result of the deck is very professional looking. I was able to trim and rip the product very easily. Be aware that the supplied lengths may vary in length up to 5mm. The 3mm clip system… Read more · 1
is also a great way to secure deck to frame. I bought my decking from Bunnings and did have to inspect each length carefully before purchasing as there was a lot of forklift damage to product at my local store. I would definitely recommend this product.
Follow-up · The original deck still looks like new. I loved it so much I recently decided to build a new deck around our pool utilising the experience I gained from the first project. This took quite some time but having all the correct power tools, ( eg drop saw, 90mm cordless circular saw, jig saw etc) made it easy and very satisfying.

Great product great result for lifetime – Excellent product, relatively easy to install BUT plan, plan, plan - then consider the plan , then plan again! Practical observations The internet suggests composite gets very hot - previously I had Merbau 168m2 facing north It got VERY hot. The composite replacement. Gets hot but noticeably much less than the merbau (possibly due to slightly… Read more · 1
lighter colour) additionally the composite designer series Not as slippery as merbau so these aspects are superior. I used the 6mm gap which has resulted in increased airflow under which will dry sub frame very well My sub frame is about 450mm clearance so no airflow issues. But the original install had no noggins and no water seal on joists. So 50% of the joists had rotted to fall through stage. I replaced joists and put rubber joist seal on all joists and fitted noggins (must) I had to have two portrait frames side by side and I should have used standard boards so that the alignment and fix down would be simpler. Also the sizing of each section was fixed and because the fixed width of boards means there was large gaps to in fill outside the portrait frame. Again I should have used standard boards to make it much easier but my order was delivered already. The end result is excellent and family is very happy - no more expensive (time, money) maintenance Thank you ekodeck

Love our ekodeck – Absolutely LOVE our Ekodeck! We decked the back patio, around the pool and a small patio at the front of the house. We also used the Ekoscreening for a gate and we are intending on using more of the screening to close in our pool pump and bins out the front. It was a lot easier to use than we thought, it cut nicely with a drop saw, even when we… Read more · 1
had to use a jigsaw to cut wround our pool lid, it all cut nicely and with a tiny bit of sanding you can't even tell its cut. Me and my husband are quite handy, but not tradies and would work with it again. My favourite part is that we don't have to maintain it at all, which is a huge bonus as when we built a deck for our first house with timber, staining/oiling the deck yearly was a nightmare. We love the look it gives our house and intend to use the some of the off cuts to make some steps out the front. It does get a bit hot in the sun, but its no different to when we had pavers or plain timber at our old house. The only negative we had was we ordered it in March last year and had to wait 2 months to get it, but that was a Bunnings distribution centre issue and we are all the way up in Far North Queensland, it certainly was worth the wait though, I love our outdoor area.
Underwhelming result, regret not using Timber decking – We had high hopes for our Ekodeck deck but have been left a bit underwhelmed by the result for a number of reasons - some of which might be related to quality of the installation, and others with the decking itself. - Boards bend and move regularly. We are told that we will need to regularly maintain these by putting a chisel or similar object… Read more
between the boards to straighten them up!
- feedback from builder was that the clips are not good and contribute to the boards moving
- other feedback after discussing with an Ekodeck representative was that the clip performance is likely to have been related to use of hardwood joists making it difficult to install clips.
After sales support is pretty good - we had an Ekodeck representative visit the job after we expressed that we were unhappy. The representative was able to visit very quickly which was great. The rep advised that the deck is installed as it should be and that we could possibly have standards that are too high. Upon reflection it is concerning that a deck with boards that move is the accepted standard.
So, my advice is: - ensure you have the boards installed by someone who has installed composite decking previously - do your due diligence if installing on hardwood joists as this might not be the best solution from our experience.

I now have a very large ekodeck deck' size 12 x 4.3m installed. I picked the backbeach designer series composite decking instead of oiled blackbutt hardwood and am so glad I did. The deck looks modern & terrific place to entertain. It is very easy to keep clean & does not need maintaining. A builder bought & installed the decking. Show details
I am sure it will be a great addition to my courtyard but the smell of the materials is very strong- didn’t really register that this would be the case but it is manufactured materials… hoping that the off gassing diminishes quickly. The smell is so strong I can’t/don’t want to open any windows…! Show reply
Great product, looks smart, only downside is heat on sunny days make it impossible to walk on with bare feet. Not cheap but in the long run saves on painting and oiling. Show details

We used the decking to clad our front door area and it was simple to use and looks great! We had timber cladding initially but it weathered badly due to the eastern sun. Ekodek had been up for about 6 months and still looks like new. I will use it on the back deck as well now that we have seen it manage the summer sun conditions.
Got backbeach. Looks great! Love it so much. Thank you
