Good freezer layout – The freezer overall is good, has a nice apearance and heaps of storage inside for my family, only time will tell about the quality of this freezer, would hope to get at least 10 years fault free but no promises. My only complaints so far are that the motor seems to run often, in my house it is a prety constant 21 degrees and i hear the motor run 10 minutes and stop for 10 minutes then again run for 10 minutes all day, its not loud but in a quit room you can hear it running, this means it runs 12 hours of the 24 hours, without the door being opened, this maybe normal for this size freezer but i would have expected with todays insulation it would run far less often. Another thing is the temperature settings, on other freezers that i have checked with a stand alone thermometer they read -20 degrees and the settings are set to half on the freezers adjustable thermometer but on this unit on the same setting it only reaches -15 degrees so to reach -20 i have set the thermometer to a little more than three quarters on the dial, maybee this is how they get such good power consumption by having the minimum temperature required for freezing. I am using the colder temp settings as my preference because of research on the net gives -18 to -20 as the ideal settings. I have recently purchased a power adapter that gives the power consumption of the device thats pluged into it so i will run for a week with this to see how close the power usage is to the manufacture ratings, i dont expect them to be exact but would hope them to read within a reasonable tolerance of the manufacturer.

These are my opinions only. Overall size is good, the finish of the stainless gives a great appearance. My personal opinion is that it is overpriced and the standard warranty for a quality name brand is very poor.

DOA – I researched and ordered this freezer because of Electrolux's good reputation and it's 3 star energy rating. The unit finally arrived and 24 hours after plugging it in it still wasn't working. It would cool but wouldn't freeze. I don't think that I would consider an Electrolux product again because of this dead on arrival freezer. They're considered to be better than average but my experience with this is that they aren't.

UPDATE

I contacted the retailer, who attempted to get an Electrolux repairman out to have a look at it and was told it would take a week or two to get someone to look at it. The Electrical Discounters immediately organised a replacement freezer and had it delivered ASAP. Great service from them but not from Electrolux. Fortunately the new freezer seems to work. Good size and storage Expensive freezer that was dead on arrival.

OK – The Freezer looks great and paired with the matching fridge "ERM4307SC" (of which is a total flop), both look very sleek and stylish. Both fridge and freezer have rust spot on front of both doors and along bottom and on folded edges, had new doors sent but every door is the same. The light in the freezer has just blown 10 months after we got fridge not sure if this is normal but minor detail, freezer works great and has 5 star energy rating and is extremely quiet to run, the door seals very well. The slide out draws seem to actually take away some space but over all not to bad a freezer. If only they could do something about the matching fridge as I would recommend to steer clear of that. The rust spots really do take away from the rating we spent near on $4000 on both units bought as a pair and now have to put up with ugly rust spot on both we have major concerns as we live on the coast aswell. Electrolux don't seem to want to do alot about it and has been an ongoing argument and still is since Dec 08. Stylish design large capacity for upright freezer Rust spots on stainless steel door fronts there before package was removed, Draws inside seem to take up to much space doesn't seem to be as much room as our old Phillips 300 litre upright freezer
