EXTRA COSTS, Upon purchasing the Epson printer I tried everything to get it to connect to the wifi I even asked my tech savvy son to try with no luck, it was a struggle to even get it to load on to my printer and to default if as my preference I spent many hours reading and downloading to get the printer to connect, In the end I had to call a… Read more
technician
As soon as the technician seen it she said this is a well-known fault with this model of Epson printers' She said she couldn't guarantee that she would be able to get it connected but would try
Thankfully she was successful and suggested I buy a cable incase I had problems down the track, as the printer does not come with a cable
I was also told that because the ink jets are liquid if you don't use the printer often, they dry up I have not had that problem as yet, and it does print well
Because of the extra $200 for a house visit by a technician, the cost of buying a cable and the trouble setting it up, even trying to get it set as a default was not easy, I would not recommend anyone to purchase this product
Purchased this printer so I could place it anywhere and use wifi. Told you just turn on and all good to go. Ha Ha The printer is on wifi but does not connect to laptop and I have tried everything. I use it by directly plugging in to my laptop which defeated the whole purpose of the exercise. Overall the printer works well so far and I have had no issues. Wifi though forget about it. Printer updated firmware, immidiatly went into error state, followed Epson directions and connected via USB cable and used Epson Firmware update tool, and nothing still in error state, $300 piece of junk, has only done around 40 prints, would have been cheaper to use a print service. DONT BY ONE OF THESE. Show details
Oh my. Buy one of these if EVERY SINGLE TIME you want to use the jolly thing, you also want it to do an update, or 4-5. Also highly recommended if you want to waste your time reinstalling it into Windows every week or so when the wifi connection… Read more
is a tad unstable and so it thinks it can't do anything. Particularly fun for those who LOVE going to the print cue every time and clearing things and trying again. Has to be one of the most infuriating pieces of equipment I've ever purchased, which is a massive pitty because the print quality is great and the tanks last for AGES.
Follow-up · For those who asked about the following: - For the WiFi issues, I had to uninstall all software and re-install it. Turn off the printer, restart the computer, restart the printer. Fun, right? - I haven't been able to fix update interruptions. They keep coming. Good luck with them. - My best tip for print queue problems is delete everything in… Read more
Bad link with Epson ET-1810 – I recently purchased an Epson ET-1810 printer from JB Hi Fi. I discovered that it does not support direct printing from the print menu on my phone, unlike my previous Canon printer. I also did not realize that this model only has a printing function no scanning or copying capabilities, which makes it unsuitable for my needs. Unhappy!!! Show details
Piece of crap – Do not buy under any circumstances. Printer has never worked properly from day 1 and completely broke in under 6 months. They were then a massive hassle to get a replacement from and just and all around pain. I could not recommend it less and would give it less then 1 star if I could Show details
Incredibly poor customer service – Purchased the unit on 17 December 2024. It took an inordinate amout of time to set up due to the need to fill all the ink tanks and the Japanese way of takiing you through the menus. Eventually I got it working but unfortunately all the lights started flashing when I tried to change the WiFi network. Failing to cure the problem myself I called… Read more
their customer support who took all my details and asked for three photos incliding the receipt, the serial number and a photo of the flashing lights. No problem there then. A day passed and so I rang again to see if there had been any progress they told me the Serial No was wrong and they needed permission from the senior engineers to look at it. I told them that the serial no. wasn't wrong because they had a photo of it. In all probability their records were wrong. I have been waiting for two days for a reply now and soon I will be taking it back to Officeworks and getting a replacement printer. It's the first and last time I will ever buy an Epson printer.
Highly unsatisfactory product and service – Yesterday I went to buy a new printer from Harvey Norman O’Connor rather than buy a pack of new cartridges for my old printer. They recommended the Epson ET-1810 for its high print capacity from one ink refill. I bought it together with an extended full replacement warranty. Taking it home I downloaded all the apps and installation instructions… Read more
and followed them to the letter. I was able to commission the machine and print off its diagnostics. But no matter what I did it wouldn’t let me print from my Mac or my wife’s Microsoft enabled laptop. My wife, my son and I put in at least 8 hours but couldn’t get it to work so today I took it back to Harvey Norman. In brief their technician said he knew what the problem was from reading the diagnostics I had printed off but to get it fixed I would have to pay another $49 and leave them with my portable wifi hub and my wife’s laptop (which has all our banking info on it). My wife and I have been loyal Harvey Norman customers for years. We complained to the staff politely and they very politely told us they were the terms, take it or leave it. They told us if we didn’t like it we could get someone like Geeks To You to come to us for $200.
Poor effort - steer clear – Poor effort. Wifi not working with pop up on my computer saying that there is a problem - that doesn't go way - only for it then to say it can't find the problem! Thankfully it is in warranty still. Hopefully Epson will honour it.
Would not purchase a ET 1810 Epson again – As like another reviewer My ET-1810 also out of warranty and all lights flashing, cannot turn off WiFi cannot get power button to stop flashing and all the the lights flash red, phoned Epson got given a service department number at my cost. You cannot connect to your phone, computer or tablet to use setting to attempt to fix. Cannot recommend it… Read more
may be priced cheap but it only good for landfill if it stops working. Going out to purchase another printer pretty disappointed in Epson to be honest.
Junk warranty and terrible customer service – Update: Nothing has come back from Epson by today 3rd of Jan 2024. Wish them a happy New Year! I got Et-1810 from Amazon in Dec 2021. In Nov 2023, it stopped working and I called Epson customer service. After routine questions, they told me it's out of warranty and gave me their local repairer contact. The repairer told me it would take $65 for… Read more
them to look into it then more fee might be required depending on their findings. I figured out it would be easier to get a new one and I did. In Dec 2023, I happened to find I had 12 month extra warranty which means when I called Epson my printer was in warranty period however Epson told me it was not.
I contacted Epson again asking them why they told me my printer was out of warranty while it was actually in. It caused my to lose the warranty service and led me to another process with the repairer. I asked them to make it right.
Espon put everything on me by kindly offering me "you can go to the repaier asking for warranty extention as its just a couple of days... " What the hell! You had given me wrong information, wrong instructions and led me to non-warranty process, which caused me lose my warranty service then caused me to pay for another one. Now you kindly asked me to request warranty extention with your repairer!
What a great plan! What the hell!
You really do not have to pay a little effort or a cent for your mistake, even it caused me lose my warranty service and pay for another one!
They said they would discuss my case further. Now it's 7 days. No single word has come back.
Terrible customer service! Junk warranty! A printer that does not last 2 years!
The best printer I've owned – I bought this printer almost a year ago and would never go back to anything else. Having previously owned many supposedly good quality and expensive printers this one beats them all. It always works and the ink is so economical. I print maybe 3-5 pages of colour per week, sometimes the printer might not be used for 10 days or more and still it… Read more
just works, no clogging. Still using the original ink supplied (still some in the bottles). The colours have barely gone down and the black is down maybe 15%. I have not tried printing photos with it.
