Epson ET-2850. The worst printer I have had. I usually go for Canon but our Computer Surgeon only sold Epson. The main reason for buying was due to the cost of Cartridges with Canon and the Epson Fill tanks appeared to be the best and cheaper option. Well, no. I use the printer several times a month. Sometimes weekly, sometimes not. Every 3-4… Read more

times possibly I get lines down the pages. I do all the maintenance necessary and over time it still happens. I go through so much INK in cleaning. I have refilled the tanks and it is still happening and leaving blotches on the top corners of the page. I know this printer is not stated for producing nice photographs but it barely does anything I want without an issue. Better off buying $100s worth of cartridges for the Canon

I have had Epson printers for over 18 years now, when I decided to update my last printer I thought a more compact printer was the way to go as I do not use it every day as I have in the past. I bought an Epson ET-2850. BIG MISTAKE The colour printing you may as well not have, the black & white printing misses lines etc & every time I need to use… Read more

it I have to upload the program again for the computer to recognise it. Can anyone assist me in what is wrong with this printer please before I put it in the garbage bin where it belongs. Thank you. Garry

Can someone help me with the issues I am having with this printer before I put in the garbage bin where it belongs. I have had Epson printers for over 18 years and I have been very happy with the product. Problem started when I bought this Epson 2850, it does not print colour so I print black & white only. It misses lines & does print all that I… Read more

I had to take my Epson printer to an authorised repair centre (which turned out to be a home garage) about 20 minutes away. The issue—magenta not printing—was diagnosed overnight and found to be a faulty print head, which was replaced. However, when I got the printer home, the scanner stopped working, producing large black areas on copied pages.… Read more

I had to return again, and luckily, the repairer had a spare part to fix it on the spot.

Despite multiple repairs, Epson Australia has failed to provide any documentation on what was replaced or done to my printer. I requested this via their case management system, and an employee, "Christian C," simply sent a generic link to their warranty terms. When I called, Epson incorrectly claimed that the replacement parts were only covered until my original warranty expired in a month—contrary to Australian Consumer Law, which expects repairs to last a reasonable time.

They promised to email the service agent and CC me, but nearly 24 hours later, I’ve heard nothing. The lack of transparency and reluctance to acknowledge consumer rights is disappointing.

Two major failures in under two years do not inspire confidence in Epson’s product reliability, and the poor after-sales support makes me hesitant to buy from them again.

If you expect strong warranty service and reliable products, think twice before choosing Epson.

An (ink) stain on Epson's reputation – I have long been an Epson supporter, having purchased one projector, three printers, reams of special paper, and litres of ink since 2002. But no longer! Today's Epson products and customer support are a poor shadow of their former selves, a view which is predicated on my experience with the purchase of the Epson ET-2850 Eco-tank printer. … Read more

Epson's Ecotank is a good concept, badly executed. This particular product is not fit for purpose, as it is virtually impossible to print anything without black ink bleeding across the top edge of the every page. Despite the fact that mine was a brand new machine, Epson Support instructed me to undertake "4 head cleans" and "1 power clean", and then wait "12 hours" for the print quality to improve. However, apart from consuming more than one-third of the ink supplied, this exercise did absolutely nothing to correct the problem.

Epson Support then claimed the problem could be due to pages "curling". Though this wasn't the case here, it is worth noting that the external paper support bar on this machine is so short and narrow that a stack of paper will naturally curl over time. Thus, it will be necessary to manually feed small quantities of "flat" paper into the machine while printing, which completely negates the featured benefit of operating the machine from a remote location.

As for the minute 2.5 X 5.0cm display screen for operating the machine on site, one needs either good eye-sight or a strong magnifying-glass to be able to follow the on-screen instructions!

The most upsetting part of this whole experience was the interaction with "Christian C" at Epson Support, whose responses grew more inflexible and unhelpful the longer I pursued my request for a return of product and refund. He gave no recognition to the possibility that this machine has major design and manufacturing defects; instead, by rote, he presented me with a version of policies, warranties and consumer rights, which not only went against Australian Consumer Law, but even contradicted what is currently published on Epson's website. It was only after I informed him that the product return and refund were nevertheless going ahead via Amazon, through whom I had fortunately made the purchase, that I was sent me a formal "DOA" (dead-on-arrival) acknowledgement by Epson.

So, fair warning - you purchase this Epson printer (and those similar in design) at your peril! Nor should you expect much sympathy from Epson Support if you experience issues with their products. This company, and their products, are not what they used to be.

So smart its dumb – I found the printer difficult to set-up. The worst feature is the very small 25x25mm screen with small writing. I have been trying to print something - meanwhile on the screen open wanting me to participate in a product survey. When you want to turn it off you have to go onto the screen and click OK. I got the printer working on the wireless… Read more

system - but it was difficult as you had to scroll up and down the menus looking for the characters. I turned my computer off at one point- then I realised I would have to do the whole set up procedure again. I gave up and plug it in! I just want something works when I turn it on. I don't need another gadget to play with and spend time optimising the functionality. I need to get some work done. The printing is good at least

EXCELLENT Printer/Copier/Scanner EPSON EcoTank ET-3700 – Fantastic Printer/Copier/Scanner ! And after 2 YEARS (purchased October 2019), I've just topped up the Inks - PLUS I have another full set of Inks spare (there was a 'Bonus' Set when I purchased it). It's SO CHEAP to operate, I can't believe how economical it is to run. And you can easily adjust the quality of the copies, printing… Read more

economically for your own files, and better quality if you want to send something to someone. Normally (with my old HP Printer) I was paying up to $500-$600 PER YEAR for Inks, so in 2 years, that's an ENORMOUS saving. I'm very, very happy with the Printer. Scans quickly, and prints quickly too. EcoTanks are the way to go - I'm so annoyed that I didn't buy one sooner. Well done, Epson !
