Epson EcoTank Photo ET-7750
MPN: ET-77503 reviews
This is one of the most annoying printers to work with that I have had in my 50 years of business. The Eco-tank concept is great, but the remainder leaves a lot to be desired. Despite being connected via ethernet cable this printer routinely drops off-line from the router. It needs to be constantly powered off and on again for it to be… Read more
discovered and come back online. The worst part of this is that it takes about 3 minutes for it to even power off (what device needs 3 minutes to power off? )and up to another 5 minutes for it to power back on again and perform all its self tests. Even then I have had print jobs take 10 minutes to even start after the printer has come back online. This doesn't happen with the Cannon printer connected to the same router, so its an Epson issue not the router issue as Epson's customer service have tried to blame.
I have had the printer in for a major repair of the electronics boards (out of warranty) and have also had significant issues with the sensors that detect the trays are in the correct position. For a very expensive printer it is poor value. The same offline issues affect it if you want to use the scanner portion. And then there are the maintenance tanks you need to buy to take the waste ink from print head cleaning. This printer needs constant print head cleaning if you are not using it every day for both photos and text printing. Lucky it has those cost saving eco-tanks or you would be buying expensive cartridges every other week.
They don't sell this printer any more, but I would check if the newer models (ET-8500, ET-8550) have the same problems as you are paying anywhere from $1000 to $1200 Aussie Dollars for the A3 version.
Worst Printer I ever owned, hate it – Worst Printer I ever owned, hate it Purchased a couple of years ago because of the ink tanks they are good but the menu options on the buttons are pathetic the symbols mean jack it has to be the worst set up printer I have owned, I had a HP printer previously which was awesome menu options meant something. Just found out that it has a waste tank… Read more
that I needed to order, not badly priced no local shops held stock Positive the ink is cheap than HP
its the menu options that are a killer for me,
Print from another room to find out that the paper is the wrong size in pc vs the printer so it doesn't print. annoying,
It disconnects from my work Laptop but suspect that is to do with work and not the printer
Epson ECOtank ET - 7750 – This is a $1000+ printer and as such I thought it would be a long lasting and cheap long term printer. I was so wrong. After having printed about 2700 pages the print head failed. I took it in for repair and it was fixed after 3 month in the repair shop (long time without our main printer). This repair was done under warranty. The after another… Read more
3100 pages of printing the print head has failed again. This time I am out of warranty so I will through the print out. So I only got 6000 pages out of a $1000+ printer. That makes it over $0.16 per page in capital cost to print. So much for a cost effective printer. I will never buy Epson again.
