Worst printer ever – Zero stars if I could. I bought this in 2016 to try and be environmentally sustainable - reducing ink cartridge use. Nothing but trouble. Won't print double sided, constant leaking of ink onto the end of sheets, terrible print quality in colour, even at high quality, lines lines and more lines in the printing. Disconnects from wifi when it feels… Read more

like it (no direct connection cable in the box either) and randomly connects to my husbands phone requiring a clumsy reconnection process. Paper jams FOR NO APPARENT REASON, just because it feels like it. Printing in reverse despite checking, changing and re-setting settings. WTAF! Never again. Replaced once on warranty and still crap. Have had a HP deskjet at another house for over 10 years and it's still amazing and cost a quarter of the price. I will never buy an epson printer again. Most stupid an frustrating printer ever made.

Good for the price – Works - reasonable print quality - not sure what everyone is banging on about here... haven't had any major issues with it. It is a printer after all - so you have to expect a few minor pains Show details

Excellent Printer – Have had this printer for 4 years, extremely happy. Done thousands of military photos & scans but for some reason it won't let me scan any more, have checked all leads & have found nothing. Could updates have changed something?.

Garbage. Zero stars – Quality is horrible. Prints are not legible. Constantly needs cleaning and nozzle check. Rarely, if ever, spits out a legible print. Complaints to Epson go unheeded. AVOID this overpriced printer! Show details

Would give Zero stars if I could – Biggest piece of rubbish printer I have ever owned. Don't buy one. Connectivity drop outs, prints fine one day and then not the next, paper jams when there is no paper jammed anywhere. Not a user friendly scanner at all. I'm going to a different brand now. Epson has lost my favour. Show details

Don’t waste your money – Absolute waste of money for such an expensive printer. I have had nothing but trouble with it!! One day it’ll print fine and then the next is just terrible. Absolutely appalling. Everyone should have a full refund or a replacement due to its actual inability to perform a simple task. Show details

Slow and very weak – I regret buying this printer and i suggest other to look for another one before buying this. This printer take forever to print one page and it need maintenance every time you print few pages. The quality of the print too weak too. So make sure this is the one you want it.  Show details

Complete waste of money – Since day one have had problems with this printer. Already had the unit replaced under warranty for poor print quality, missing lines, colour not printing AT ALL. Now out of warranty (did you know that the extended warranty you pay for at Harvey Norman only covers one replacement/repair). Now again, just out of warranty can not use printer. Have… Read more

performed countless number of "clean print heads". The manual recommends to dump the ink. Since it recommends this option, I am going to assume it is a known issue. The reason I bought this printer is because it was marketed as being more economical due to the ink tanks. How is it economical if you have to constantly dump the ink? The warning in the manual also states dumping the ink will significantly reduce the life of the ink pad. What a complete waste of $500+ dollars. BUYERS BE WARE!!!!

Update. Please also be aware the the two-sided printing feature works with Windows only, the option is not available for Mac computers.

EDITED 05/04/2020

Still got this stupid printer. But hey, I paid $500+ dollars so I just have to suck it up. Just a disclaimer that Epson should have been obliged to notify customers. Epson ET-2550 DOES NOT SUPPORT two-sided printing from Mac computers. I even emailed Epson this question and they confirmed that no, it does not. Would have been nice to have this in at least small wording under the "Double-Sided Printing" wording no the packaging. Completely misleading. I know I definitely would not have purchased this because it was a feature I was looking for. And I see, 4 years later that Epson still have not updated their software to support two-sided printing from a Mac computer.

Fugi Xerox DOCU Print CM115w – When the unit is printing, colour prints are of good quality. The double -sided printing function as absolutely useless as all of the left side prints need to be printed first before the printed output pages have to be turned over and refeed back into the printer. As for the cost of the consumables for this laser model: Toner cartridges are… Read more

seemly very expensive. I believe that this unit had the ability to produce quality output if double-sided printed output wasn't required.

Just don't buy it – This is the first time I have paid $500 for a printer based on getting fed up with having so many expensive left over print cartridges for much much cheaper HP laser printers but HP seem to want to rip off the customer by not making any of their cartridges transferable to another printer. This Epson printer promised great things with large ink… Read more

tanks for maybe the cost of up to 2 years for replacement cartridges, given my small business application ( that was the sales pitch). It has smudged print from the outset, colours all wrong, took it back to Harvey Norman, they did their thing, had to go to the factory under warranty for a new printer head and they were very nice but still smudging. I really can't be bothered now and am going to recycle it when the ink runs out. So much plugging and unplugging cables, the inconvenience, phone calls, to and fro. How hard is it to make a great printer in this day and age for $500?

can never connect – print quality is terrible, but the worst thing is trying to get it connected, it just loses connection then it won't connect again, scanning will make you wanna smash it, if you manage to get it connected it takes about 15 minutes to scan 1 page. i have tried using USB connection can't get that to work either  Show details

Great office printer – Purchased this after researching ink tank based printers. After 6 months of use, tanks have been used about 1/3 for the colours, 1/2 for black. The printer is used every day in a small office, and it seems great. The only problem is that it does not print double sided, which we would have liked.  Show details

Good Printer – Was after for a cheap ink tank based printer and saw these in a Harvey Norman store, 2 years worth of ink seem to seal the deal, no more paying for expensive ink cartridges. Didn't come with a usb cable but had a old one lying around and worked. The only flaw I've found is the it prints out printed pages which are in reverse order which is pain but can live with it.  Show details

Loses WiFi connection constantly. No USB cable – The Epson ET-2550 constantly drops the WiFI connection. The router is 30 feet away in a direct line of site to the printer. It is next to the computer. No other WiFi connected devices have any problems with my router. There is no included USB cable. It is very difficult to reconnect - the provided software is useless. Literally had to reinstall everything twice. Not worth the hassle. Never buying an Epson product again.  Show details

Forget it. Dont waste your hard-earned $ – A couple of months after purchase the print quality started to deteriorate. Within a month it had gone to absolute crap. Ran maintenance and head clean several times at the request of Epson, no difference. Took it back to Harvey Norman who suggested that 19 times is the recommended head clean. Still not sure if they were taking the P 1 Fifty five… Read more

or not. Printer got sent to service agent and had complete head replacement. Prints fine now but connectivity is big issue. Has dropped connection several times in last week. Epson support answer is to remove device and reinstall, driver and all. VERY frustrating, especially after having a good run with my Epson 410 I owned previously. Dont waste your money on this model. Thinking carefully about Epson brand altogether. Likewise for Harvey Norman. They were less than helpful in correcting the situation.

Don't recommend it – I am disappointed in this printer. I brought it because I liked the idea of not having to buy ink cartridges all the time and thought that it would save money in the long run. The ink has lasted well but every now and then I get printing problems like one colour not printing or sections not being printed out. I have never had problems like that… Read more

with the cheaper printers that I have had in the past. It's very frustrating not being able to rely on it to print properly when I need it. Needs a bit more refining to make it worthwhile buying.

EPSOM PRINTER FAILED AT END OF WARRANTY - EPSOM NOT INTERESTED – I purchased an EPSOM ET 2550 (Eco Tank multifunction home printer) from Harvey Norman Fyshwick on 30 April 2016. This printer was $498.00; quite a bit more expensive than like-functioned alternatives, and was sold to me on basis of its brand reliability, and economic use of ink, refilled from bottles not cartridges. From about early March this… Read more

year (2017), the printer started to deliver blurred text and images. The printer has delivered approx 350 pages in total, mostly text. I registered the printer on-line with EPSOM IN March 2017 to get help from EPSOM. Went through all the actions recommended in the EPSOM on-line trouble shooting guide, including downloading and using their latest driver. I returned the printer to Harvey Norman today, who referred me direct to the EPSOM repair agent in Fyshwick, who could not touch it without a warranty authorisation from EPSOM. EPSOM were not interested in fixing the product, as it was out of warranty. EPSOM customer rep would not deviate from the customer complaint handling script - and would not answer questions about product reliability, is this a common fault, or whether they would provide a refund or replacement "we can only refer you to our warranty conditions available on-line". $500 printer down the tubes after little more than a year. Thanks EPSOM. Will not be recommending your brand or product. Thanks for nothing

I give this printer half a star. Epson zero stars – Not long after getting the printer it printed with lines and imperfections which would not clear up from alignment or cleaning. From trying to fix the issue, realigning and cleaning the head the ink pad is now full/needs replacing. Once the ink pad needs replacing the printer locks up and is unusable. Epson designed the printer so it's not user… Read more

replaceable. Epson doesn't have their own service centre in Brisbane, and the third party repair is way out it out town. What a piece of crap product and company.

Rosin-ET 2550 – Extemelhy bad printer. I purchased less than a year ago. Very poor quality printing. It dos not print in color nor black and white. The background printing is fuzzy yellow. A Big Scam! Please do not buy this printer it is a waste of money and does not provide the number of prints as it promised.  Show details

Great idea but I had nothing but trouble – I really liked the idea behind this printer of being able to pour Ink into a tank and print and print and print. Let me say this about Epson their customer service is really good. I mean really really good, they sent me three different printers under warranty with no hassle whatsoever so let's get that out-of-the-way the customer service is good… Read more

but I really had nothing but problems with the eco-tank right out-of-the-box. It had problems printing a test screen the lines were missing segments so it told me to do it deep head cleaning but I had to do it so many times that the machine turned itself off on me and gave me a code to call EPSON. So when I did I was assuming that would give me a code to clear it but no it meant it was a failure because the waste tank was full so they sent me a new one which lasted about a week and then the yellow went out everything else works fine but no yellow so I called them again and they had me do all kinds of things to the printer but still no yellow. So they sent me another one and so far this one hasn't had any problems I'm crossing my fingers because of it goes out again I'm getting another cannon Maxify which I had purchased when my Epson went out. I had gone down to the secondhand shops and bought up all the different inks that they were selling for like a dollar a cartridge and I was taking the ink out and using that I have like 400 cartridges and as long as you separate out the pigment from the other kind of Ink it works great but it just hasn't been worth all the trouble this thing cost me over $400 I could've bought 4 Canon Maxifys for the same price and had a better printer so all in all it's a great idea but I would not buy another one of these ever. I would go online and investigate all the other printers find out which one has third-party cartridges available to them so you can refill them, and go to the company of your choice mine was ink owl, and get that kind of printer it's very easy to look them up online on YouTube Canon is not the only company out there but for me it worked out great. Thank you.

"Not real flash" UPDATE after 6 months use – The printer and scanner have worked well for 6 months now. There have been no paper feed problems. There have been a number of software updates that were painless. Ink levels have only reduced by about 20%, so they should last about another 2 years - great. My only negative comment is that printed pages are in reverse order and have to be manually reordered. I am happy with my purchase.
