Utter Garbage – Like many others, use it rarely, pay through the nose for ink. Just replaced cartridges again $70 (ashamed to even say it) doesnt recognise them, endless cleaning, still nothing. If your requirement is to print white pages then you cant find a better product, if by chance you want to read something you Show details

Absolute GARBAGE – I'll start by saying I've had this printer 12 months. Considering the stress, expense and heartache I have been through, I would say Epson owe me compensation. To say this printer is garbage is putting it FAR too nicely. Ive printed less than ten pages with any colour since I bought it, yet I've been through 1.5 cartridges of each of the 3… Read more

colours.

I bought this printer, foolishly, because I expected it to actually print things on demand.

Last night was the last straw. I needed to print an agreement for work this morning. It ran out of paper. Wouldn't print.

Having had this piece of junk 12 months I knew I was in for a nightmare.

New paper, plenty of ink. "Printer in error state" AGAIN.

Anyway, here we are, I have checked the nozzles (which is the only time I've ever used colour cartridges since I've owned it, which will tell you how often it refuses to work), reset, unplugged, troubleshooted etc. Still can't print an agreement for work tomorrow.

I am in business. This is unacceptable. I think I should go into the printer business, that way I make a billion whether or not the product works.

As previously mentioned - This is the last straw.

My Sunday plans are as follows.

1. Remove printer from office. 2. Smash on ground in rear yard. 3. Take hydraulic trolley jack handle to printer and repeatedly beat printer. 4. Urinate on printer. 5. Douse printer in 1 litre of Petroleum. 6. Set Fire to the twisted wreckage of the Epson XP - 440. 7. Never speak of this product again, I'm not, strong enough.

Keeps losing its printer driver!!!!! – Reasonable printer, but for some reason it keeps losing its printer driver, or the driver stops working. I have to delete the driver and upload it again so that it works. Very frustrating.... Show details

Wish I could give 0 stars – This is the second Xp-440 I've owned, as the first one experienced major printing issues and Epson customer service exchanged it since it was under warranty. I should have complained when I first received the replacement, as all 4 printer cartridges were almost empty and the printing was just "ok". It uses ink very quickly. Recently, the black… Read more

ink just stopped working. It indicated the ink level was low (even though It showed 1/4 full), so I purchased a new black cartridge. Followed the replacement instructions, and the black ink would still not print. Contacted customer service via email. I did receive a response that day, instructing me to go through the same procedures I followed upon replacement. Ink still did not print. I emailed again, this time they suggested I call them directly, as it was a hardware issue. After calling their technical team, she instructed me that the printer was out of warranty and needed to be replaced. Since I do not use my printer frequently, she suggested I needed to print a minimum of 3 pages per week to keep the nozzles "clean". I have never been pleased with this product, and will not be purchasing another Epson. Not to mention the out-of-pocket expense for a cartridge I cannot use. Highly disappointed and will not recommend.

I loathe this printer! – I hardly ever print in color. Net search shows that if you're printing grayscale, you are using some color, therefore you cannot print only black without replacing color printers! WHAT?????? This printer annoys me more than any other, for that reason and for the reason that it ALWAYS fights me when I'm trying to print! I am constantly replacing… Read more

the black cartridge and I hardly EVER print anything. Even Epsom says you can't print using black only (the radio button says print black/grayscale) without replacing expensive color cartridges.

Epson XP-440 – This is the worst printer I have ever purchased. I am a teacher with limited income and bought to use at home for school work and have nothing but problems with it. I have gone through two sets of cartridges which is 4 cartridges and $10 each and have nothing but print out pages of it not working from nozzle checks. I would not recommend Epson… Read more

to anyone and I will not purchase another product from them. All I was told was to run head cleaning several times and if that doesn't work I need to take in for a cleaning. More money and time to waste....Do not buy this product, horrible experience.

Using it for more than year, No issues. use with one catridge – I have this printer for more than year and found now issues. It has nice features 1) wifi printing 2) scan to google drive 3) remote printing From ink catridges, it can print on just black catridge, doesn't force to have color catridiges, I also used unbranded catridges and found no issue in printing. You can just use this printer with one catridge Show details

It's slow or I'm impatient – Replaced my noisey temperamental and expensive HP. We use the Epson infrequently to print. Print quality in standard print is ok, would prefer draft quality for speed but there is no option for that. Weird. Looked in manual and see that Draft quality is excluded in Western Europe. Weird. Scanning is slow but, not as slow as copying and printing.… Read more

Waited for one page to be spat out for, I dunno, 2 minutes? Not up to modern expectations. My kids keep pushing the coloured Home screen expecting touch screen technology. I swear I can hear it saying, "You get what you pay for. (implied Meh emoji excluded). Disappointing as it will be filling the rubbish tip sooner rather than later.

Piece of junk – Head cleaning needs to be done several times before each use All the required head cleaning uses inordinate amount of ink After cartridge replacement, need to clean head multiple times to get even a semi decent print quality. This uses even more ink Overall print quality is poor

A unreliable printer with bad print quality and printing head issues – - Not satisfied with the print quality. - Not satisfied with the reliability and consistency of the printer with lots of trouble and time spent on cleaning the heads and replacing cartridges. - this printer damaged the Epson branding, resulting in no confidence in buying any epson products.

Replacing ink cartridges uses up 25% before you can even start printing – The printer itself works well, but as soon as you have to replace the cartridges it takes at least 8 print head cleans before it will begin to recognise the new cartridges - using up a quarter of your new ink in the process. Since genuine Epson cartridges cost at least $70 to replace, that's a $17 expense just to get your printer working again.… Read more

Not to mention the printer refuses to print anything when any cartridge is below 15% ink. So expect to get $40 worth of actual ink out of your $70 purchase.

Does the job – Wanted a prniter for home to print out the occasional document or picture for the kids. This has done the job. The best part is replacing the ink as you can replace the individual colour rather than all at once. Wi-Fi connection was easy to set up. Great having no wires to print.

WARNING! Don't purchase one of these – Purchased on 16th December 2019, it has come up with a message "fatal error", "contact Epson". I did, and they suggested I take the unit to their service outlet in Broken Hill, a mere 1100kms away. The second option was closer, in Muswellbrook, 90kms from home. No guarantee that the unit would be replaced under warranty. Quite frankly the… Read more

unit is a total dud, We have previously had Epson TX100 (purchased in 2009) and an XP100 (purchased in 2014), with the only reason for going to Epson again being the individual ink cartridges.

Dont waste your money – I have printed off less than sixteen pages and ink is half full and pages are not printing properly. faded font. lines faded on font. Add to this the firmware update that makes you choose what size paper every time its started. Epson also wont allow third party ink after firmware update. Im returning printer today. Ive owned two Epsons prior to this and wont buy epsom again. Show details

Great for home use – Happy with the ease of set up for most features - but then I am a bit tech savvy. Clear print, printer ink is easy to change, and not overly expensive. Wifi option to numerous items is great. Show details

Best multipurpose inkjet printer – I bought this all in one printer for our everyday printer! For school projects, scanning favorite recipes on magazines and WiFi printing was awesome. It was easy to setup and all the instructions straight forward. I highly recommend this product for all the school and personal capabilities. Show details

waste of money – This printer is the worst I've had. Very limited in its use. Can't print on most photo papers as they are too thick or will not grip gloss surfaces. A total waste of money, and they have the ordacity to claim you can print photos on it. Show details

The worst printer ever purchased – This printer was to be a replacement for an HP that we had. What a mistake. Customer service on the help line is also useless. The person didnt have a solution and was told needed to buy a more expensive printer… Read more

Only useful as a printer – Found the connectivity and printing ease using this printer/scanner to be great! But then I started trying to scan multiple pages using uncabled connections and cloud, big thumbs down here, only allows single page scans so totally useless as a scanner! Can only scan multiple pages using USB to computer or laptop. Show details

Scan/copy facility very useful, for a budget price – I purchased this printer in January, 2018, and have used it extensively for photo scanning/copying, as well as .pdf forms for attaching to emails. The only issue (perhaps with all brands of inkjet printers) is the need to replace the 'moderate fill' cartridges often. Found it very convenient to use at home with its 'WiFi direct' facility.  Show details

Bad Printer – I bought this XP-440 from Goodguys. Its start to has wifi problems. When I press print, I have to wait for long time for a printer to print. After first ink replacement, It start to print with nothing so I try more than five times to clean nozzle which take a long time to clean in each one, still not print 100%. I use to have old Epson which was last very long time (5500) but because of this new model, I will not buy Epson again ever.
