Epson XP-850

NOT WORTH THE BATTLE!! – I bought the epsom xp850 a few years ago thinking, that, by paying the extra for a top quality printer, I would be satisfied... not so.. I have had to battle with this machine from day 1.. constantly tells me the paper tray is empty or paper is jammed when it is not so. Works so slowly . When it does work, it prints very well but it is so unreliable. I only keep it because I can’t afford to throw it away. Believe me, I would love to do just that!!!
Purchased at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Electronics.
Works well for a few months after many, many frustrating moments trying to get it to do so. Then rub – I bought this a few years ago and it took ages to get on top of its bad design features. Initially I did print some good quality prints although I spent a fortune in ink. The printing deteriorated rapidly and I should have taken it back for a refund. When I tried to use it after a break, it will only print in pink and black. The ink is all up to date, I have cleared the heads countless times and to have an expensive service where it probably requires spare parts I am convinced I will be back to square one in a few months time. It has been an absolute money pit. And I hope Epsom has pulled it by now. However, because of the the serious design faults, I wouldn't touch Epsom in a pink fit!

Worst printer ever – WORST printer ever, can't print anything keeps on taking paper in and throwing out. I really want to throw in bin or smash it, to print one page or picture I have waste an hour or so as keeps on asking paper in wrong tray inspite of changing the setting. Will never buy Epson again. I was so stupid same things happened with xp-750 which I gave it away I bought this thinking new model then realized it was bloody same thing extremely disappointed. Never buy this.
a very very good MFC – I bought this printer couple of weeks ago from Harvey Norman. I paid $300 for it. Epson has a $100 cash back promotion. For $40, Harvey Norman offered me 3 year replacement warranty which is better value compared to Epson's 2 year warranty ($90). For me the main purpose of the purchase is to scan my old pictures and make quality prints. I am not fussed about the speed. 4800 dpi scanner is absolutely awesome and worth every penny. When used with Epson's high glossy photo paper for my photographs, the results are very impressive. Some users complain about the quality of the colour graphics. If this factor is important to you, get yourself a laser for crisp text and graphics. Cloud integration works like a charm! I can scan to my Drop Box, Google Drive or to my shared folder on the network from anywhere. The touch screen is responsive and the quality is ok. The printer has a ADF and a duplexer built in. Paper handling has been simplified with separated trays for A4 and 6X8". CD Feeder is also included. Genuine High Capacity ink cartridge can be purchased for $20 on eBay. Cloud integration, awesome scanner, high quality prints, built in Wi-fi and easy setup Only comes with a 1 year warranty, extra 2 year Epson warranty costs $90 which is almost 50% of what I paid for the printer. Don't forget to buy a USB cable
