Great solid performer colour printer – I am a long term user / owner. This model has been perfect for me, having tried so many brands previously. I print photos as a hobby, compiling collages, so having a printer that is familiar to me is important. I overcame the costly ink issue by converting to, firstly a continuous ink system, then after the carriage gave up after about 4 years… Read more

(approx a 500 A4 photos), I bought a 2nd one (2nd hand) and used refillable cartridges. The print head gave up, again after another 500 odd A4 photos, and I'm currently on my third CX5500. This one's about 3 years old (also 2nd hand). Sure it's a little noisy, and cleaning the print heads become a ritual after every 15 - 20 A4 sized photos. But, this is one reliable machine. It's a pity that when this one dies, there'll probably no more available. I personally think most printer have foibles, enough sometimes to drive you nutz, but with this one, problems are always very rudimentary and can be fixed. Most are either cleaning print heads, or the printer not recognising the cartridge. These two issues make up 99% of the problems. Once you learn how to fix these two......it's easy. I've printed over 300 A4 photos and the colour balance is drifting to blue, despite plenty of ink, and regular cleaning..... Documents in black and white are printed very quickly and each of my CX5500's had printed thousands each without much fuss.

Terrible – Its ok for the occasional user, but if you have kids that want to print or you attend uni this is not very functional as the ink just doesnt last and runs out at the worst times. The quality is ok, but the noise of it printing really annoyed me in the end and I was sick of having to go to dick smith for cartridges every month, instead of every 6… Read more

months. I threw it in the bin in the end. It was cheap to buy. It produced ok quality for cost of printer. It is way to noisy when printing, the ink cartriges are cheap but they run out all the time, they are not value for money as the amount of ink in them is discracfull, if you want to always be replaceing ink cartriges then buy this printer.

It's value for money - good for home use – The printer is easy to use and produce good quality print/copy/scan. The paper feeder never gives any problem for the last 3 years since I bought it. The print job is very noisy though and it can give you a scare if you are not expecting it coming. Reliable, reasonable price, good quality print Noisy operation, ink cartridge is expensive but I guess it's the same with any other printer

OK – Purchased new for $50 with full ink cartridges, how can you go wrong? Replaced a cx4700 which was playing up badly and costing hundreds in ink. As they only ever last until their warranty ends, we decided to go for a budget model we didn't mind replacing. After some adjustments I found the ink use to be pretty good and certainly better than the… Read more

cx4700.

Not much in the way of special features but as we are printing basic catalogues and invoices, there is nothing more we need. Scanner works well as does copy function. Low cost inks. Good print quality once you've made adjustments to the preferences. Attractive black finish and very simple to operate. Print speed is not fast but is adequate. A bit noisy.

Took a while to get print quality as I wanted.

OK – Scans ok, prints ok, cheap to run and works quite well. Looks neat and is not noisey. As an entry level MFC you cant go wrong, if you want the bells and wistles this is not the MFC for you. Cheap, reliable, nice print quality, cheap ink tanks, 4 seperate ink tanks at about $ 13 genuine or $ 10 aftermarket. Print speed is slow

Excellent – Overall, very good and most of all economy. I bought it $56 at dicksmith. It has function to print, scan & photocopy. The inks are so cheap where there are only $9 each for black & colours. It has seperate ink cartridge so only change which you are running low. It is very good for documents and simple to operate. I tried print out photos as well… Read more

and it turned out to be not too bad at all.

The only thing might be the disadvantage about this printer is when it is printing, it produce very loud noise, so might be a lottle bit annoying but see it as very economical, so I would recommend this printer. cheap to buy the printer, cheap for the ink, multi function, simple. loud noise

Good – Overall I would recommend this as a simple printer for anyone who wants to do basic colour printing and decent photocopying. The high resolution printing is decent and for under $60 at some places you can't go wrong. The ink prices though are good at $9 for each of the colours and the black. Purchased this printer a month ago. No problems… Read more

whatsoever, the print quality is very good and photocopying is half decent - not bad for under $60. The inks are so cheap only $9 each for the economy ones. The photocopying is ok but nothing too great, good for documents though.

Excellent – Whether it's in gray scale or in colour, you can always expect quality prints from this Epson Stylus Pro. It prints fast, and the results are always on a professional level. I couldn't complain about anything. Uses ColourFast pigment-based ink. High-speed printing
