MPNs: C11CJ07501 and WF-382014 reviews
The device worked well for a week. I bought it to print photos but then it suddenly stopped accepting photo paper. It took hours talking to the support team to download a driver. It was then only intermittently printing photos. Last week I bought a… Read more
pack of four ink partridges (cost about $100) and the 3820 tells me the yellow cartridge cannot be recognised. I’ve had this for three months and have never had a good experience. I’ve had it with this printer. I’m cutting my losses and buying another brand. Not only is the printer playing up the Epson brand ink cartridges are not worth the effort
Follow-up · It is one of the most inefficient items I have ever bought! It is a printer which prints when it wants to, not on order. It does not take paper from the tray displaying an out of paper notice when the paper cartridge is full. It will not print photos. It wades through ink which costs nearly $150! I print at a local photography studio now and, where I can, I pdf letters to recipients. Worst printer I’ve ever had
I purchased this printer today from Officeworks. It is absolutely magnificent. I had to return my previous printer to Big W as it was completely useless. I am absolutely flabbergasted and how quickly it was to connect and set up and it began printing immediately. The print qualities is excellent. The speed of printing is superfast. The features are easy to use and self-explanatory and work very well. I absolutely recommend this printer. Show details
don't purchase if you have patchy wifi, this unit needs to be directly connected to router to work. If wifi disconnects for any reason, a full factory reset needs to be performed. Ink costs more than the printer Show details
Had one for years which was great. Got a new one and more trouble than its worth. Not a year old and gone to the recycle bin. Show details
I have been using the Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3820 for the past four years and, until now, have been satisfied with its performance. However, following a recent firmware update, my printer no longer recognizes the ink cartridges I’ve consistently used—cartridges that are compatible but not manufactured by Epson. As a graduate student who prints a… Read more
high volume of documents, affordable ink is essential. Unfortunately, Epson’s response to my concern was disappointing; they stated they could not assist with the issue. It’s frustrating that a routine update rendered my printer unusable unless I purchase Epson-branded ink, which feels like an attempt to force consumers into their ecosystem.
I can no longer recommend Epson products due to this experience. I advise others to be cautious with their firmware updates and consider brands that support more flexible and consumer-friendly practices.
Honestly a terrible printer, the ink runs out SO fast, even when its barely used even when i buy the XL and this ink is very expensive to buy!! But not only this but the printer NEVER works the first time, it always prints a blank page or a very porrly printed page and i have to spend ages doing nozzle cleaning before it will print an entire page correctly Show details
WORST PRINTER EVER – Whenever I need to print something, it's offline for some reason Epson always wants to install new software on your computer. Cant just connect printer to Windows like a regular printer. No, this one needs special software to connect I have heaps of other devices that manage to stay on my network, it's just this printer that can't stay connected. Show details
The worst investment ever – My company has used Brother printers for many years but recently I thought we would give Epson a go. I bought two different MFC units and quickly discovered that the ink cartridges are so expensive, one single set costs more than the printer. No response from customer service! DO NOT buy an Epson printer Show details
This has been discontinued and should never have been started in the first place – Printing is not bad, but it is very thirsty and expensive to run. Scanning is awful as the rollers keep jamming the pages. Currently unable to scan from the control interface. Unable to scan back and front from the ADF. Show details
The WORST PRINTER EVER – This is by far the biggest waste of money. Like someone else said, will take a hammer to it or kick it down the road! Honestly, I can't even begin with how terrible it is from day one of use. Lets see, the fact that wifi connectivity is dodgy at best. It won't scan to email so need to insert USB each time. It constantly just "doesn't print". No… Read more
reason, just won't print. Don't start me on the firmware updates either. If I could give it ZERO I would. Absolute waste of money. I had a cheap HP all in one for 10 years and it cost around $50. I'm off to buy another cheap HP which I am sure will be far superior to this terrible device.
Epson Printer 3820 -a terrible printer – Absolutely the worst printer ever -Yes it will be destroyed with a hammer tomorrow! Black ink that came with it lasted less than a week -New black cartridge -less than 2 weeks - 3rd cartridge -days! Spits out blank pages with multiple page printing. Paper jams -just whenever it feels like it. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks and have bought 2 sets of… Read more
black and colors, plus the ones that came with it and no notice it says I am out of black. Has an option to use the other colors to create "black" but after a lot of searching online -this printer will not create black from the colors -so I am not able to print. Funny the reviews were good on other sites....must have been written on day 1 but honestly DO NOT BUY THIS PRINTER! Epson 3820 -worthless!!
Absolute Junk – Unreliable. I have never had one print job without problems. It prints pages so faded that they're unuseable. Ink cartridges hold very small amounts of ink. It won't print a pdf directly from your screen, you have to download the doc before it even recognises it. This Epson WorkForce Pro WF-3820 is a total waste of money, only good for throwing away. Very disappointed. Show details
Far less than impressed – Totally agree, had an old Epson before this. Plugged it in, turned it on all worked, this things a witch. Obviously geared to microsoft and apple, and forget about linux, by the way this is the same OS I was using with the old NX635. It only took a week to get the scanner working, so it must be old tech, but as for the printer. Grrrrr. Show details
Setting up the printing is a major pain ! – Having worked in the IT business for many years I would have to say this is one of the worst setups I have come across. Setting up the printer via an Ethernet cable it was able to scan directly to the computer but could not print. Another bunch of set up drivers and software from an Asian website and it still could not print via the Ethernet… Read more
cable. Installation packages could not find the printer on any port even though the scan software could. After using the Asian sourced packages and switching everything to wireless and another hour I was finally able to print wirelessly.Without the IT experience I could understand people becoming very frustrated with the setup. Find the latest updates here http://tech.epson.com.au/downloads/product.asp. 55 exemptions had to be made in the network firewall during the installation.!! Go Figure.
