Epson talk a big game but – Rubbish unit. We just set a new record of 5 prints out of a brand-new black cartridge. There is no signs of leaking, the cartridge cant be empty but because the printer thinks it is there is nothing we can do to make it work. We are now up to 5 full sets of cartridges for maybe 100 prints out of the life of this very bad unit. My family now refuse… Read more
to use it because the print quality is so bad you have to do nozzle and print head clean for every print making it quicker to take print jobs to our local Officeworks. The same Officeworks that we bought it from who have wiped there hands of it telling us to take it Epson. The customer service with Epson has so many hoops you have to jump through to get any answer on where to take it for service/warranty. It is now out of warranty (was in warranty when we first brought this up) so If epson had backed their product there wouldnt be another piece of toxic E waste. Previous HP Multi function unit lasted over 10 years without skipping a beat. Expensive for sure but it worked!
Fantastic printer – Fantastic service from this printer. We are a bit "tech-savvy" so got through a few minor issues from time-to-time, but in the end got 17 years of excellent results before the carriage belt snapped. Beat that if you can! Show details
Piece of rubbish – I have had nothing but trouble with the ink side of things. Printer head issues, repeated cleaning doesnt work. Cartridges dont last and are expensive. It has been such a bad experience for me. The printer has gone in the bin tonight and now left with expensive cartridges. There will NEVER be another Epson for me.... Show details

Absolute garbage!!!!! – I had problems from the start with printing on the wifi. The print quality was rubbish guzzled ink the just wouldn't print despite numerous head cleans finally had enough and chucked it in the bin to be honest this was the worst printer I ever had the misfortune to buy and will never look at Epson again Im pretty sure half the time it said cartridges needed changing they didn't as it was hardly used

I've had many printers, and so far this one is the best! – I've owned several of printers in the past - Canon, HP, Brother, and now this EPSON machine. I've had this Epson printer since late 2017, but I continue to be impressed by its reliability. I'm on a Mac, and truthfully the software integration for many printers is woeful on Macs - but the EPSON software works nicely via USB and Wifi. The scanning… Read more
utility is great - automatic feeder or flatbed, and I love the two-sided printing. I don't use the printer a huge amount, but the ink lasts nicely, and the printheads don't dry out as easily as my previous HP printer. I like the web interface for it, and the remote printing feature. Haven't tried the fax, but that's a neat feature to have for such an affordable machine. Print-head cleaning and print-head alignment is the best I've seen, so clearly a good amount of engineering went into this. Not sure how good more recent models of EPSON printers are, but hopefully they're building on the positives from model. I realise that some people may have issues with their 3640 machine, but I've been very lucky, and I've enjoyed it enough that I've come here specifically to give you my experience. Bad machines ought to receive bad reviews, but I also strongly believe that if something is reliable and efficient, it also needs to be communicated.
Excellent all-round printer and scanner – I'm not sure why there's so much hate for this printer - we've never had a problem with ours. Firstly, contrary to popular opinion, it doesn't force you to use Epson cartridges - I've only ever bought imitation ones from InkStation online, and have never had a problem. It does warn you the cartridges "aren't genuine", but you can agree to use them… Read more
anyway. They last quite a while (at least several months for the smaller colour ones), have good quality and they're cheap as chips.
The double-sided scanning and printing are very handy, even though it does take a few seconds flip the page over in between scanning front and back. Scan quality for both colour and grayscale is quite good. Love the huge paper drawer capacity as well - can hold a whole ream of paper at once. Never had serious connection issues with the printer either, and print and scan wirelessly. This has been the best printer we've owned.
Excellent Little Printer - Buy a cheap CISS and save big $$$$ – I purchased this printer about a year ago and it have performed marvelously. I use it to print cover slips for product display packaging of printed matter as well as full colour artwork of aircaft, printing 500+ pages a week in full colour at high quality. I find the print is crisp and clear and colour rendition is excellent. Scans are easy - not… Read more
great quality using default settings - but good enough for my document storage needs. The automatic feed on the scanner saves me time. One of the first things I did was go out and buy a CISS (continuous ink supply system) - for the cost one set of cartridges I got the system AND the equivent of 10 refills for each colour (ie about 40 cartridges). Works perfectly and saves me a TON of money (approx 5% of cost of using OEM ink). IF using a CISS the printer has the annoying habit of telling you the cartridge is empty (printer obviously has no sensor.. just works on pages printed) and once every 4-5 hours of continuous use may come up with a 'cartridge not recognoised' error. Minor issues for the $ the CISS saves me and the quality of the printer.

Absolutely rubbish – Horrendous connectivity with my Dell XPS, and HP laptop before this one, constant errors, most recent stating a non existent paper jam?? The best experience I got from this printer was throwing it down my driveway. Now unfortunately I will never purchase an Epson again. Show details
Frustrating and disgusted at the dubious business ethics – I have had this printer for a number of years and was quite happy for much of the time. It has some good features such as the automatic document feeder (ADF), WiFi and double sided printing. WiFi connection took a bit to master, and I've always been a bit frustrated at the cost of replacement ink, but stuck to Epson cartridges because of past… Read more
issues with generic brands (more the printers than the cartridges!). Whilst it has a fax capability, this has never been used (who the heck does, these days?). The scanning, especially with the multi-page ADF, has always been useful, although the software is a bit clunky. However, as we are again homeschooling our grandchildren, usage has increased and we could not afford the high cost of Epson cartridges (we are now retired). I bought a good quality set from a reputable professional cartridge company (at a third of the cost) and lo and behold, the printer has died! It constantly flashes a warning that original print cartridges are not installed and that continuing service cannot be guaranteed. And just to make sure the point gets across, the printer has developed a "paper jam" error when there isn't one, and just stops. Now call me suspicious, but .... This printer was not cheap when I bought it, and was marketed as a small business printer (as Workforce intimates). It has never been used to produce the volumes it supposedly is capable of, and has been well maintained. So, off to find a half-decent replacement. Whilst it goes against the grain, something cheap and all but disposable (I hate adding to the waste pile) with either low cost replacement cartridges or cheap enough to chuck and replace if necessary. Anything but an Epson - they've done their dash as far as I'm concerned!
Cheap Workhorse – I use this for 3 homeschooling kids, so we print a lot on regular basis. After 3 years, it finally gives up. For the price paid and amount of usage, I was expecting 2-3yrs. Tip for those who buy this type of cheapo printer, you have to invest on CISS. You will be saving a lot rather than buying standard refill or genuine ink which cost a fortune. Show details

Terrible printer sold at the price of a good quality unit – Consistently troublesome, unable to print regularly, highly consumptive of ink, mainly for head cleaning even when the ink cartridges are brand new. I have never had a poorer quality printer. Show details
Worst printer I've ever owned – Constant issues with this unit. Terrible printing, constant error messages and it sucks up ink. I definitely will not purchase an Epson again. I'm very disappointed with them. This printer was touted as one of their best and it's a bulky piece of garbage. Unreliable. Show details
If you want to get super angry regularly, then buy this heavy paper weight labelled as a printer – This printer has me angry and frustrated so many times, I've lost count. It never likes to connect to any of the 3 computers in this house, 2 ipads and an iphone too Of the rare times it likes to connect, It seems to burn through ink cartridges. If you dare not to pay the insane costs for epson print cartridges, the printer makes you sign off that… Read more
you bought "un-approved" ink cartridges and may affect your warranty. I can basically only print with it via plugging in a USB or 1 iPhone in this house that works with it. I will never buy an epson again and I feel sorry for anyone else who has bought this horrible printer.

What a waste – After about three years of owning it and printing less than 10 documents I finally decided that smashing it into my floor was the best use of this machine. I spent more on ink than I did on the printer because every time I needed to print something I would need to clean the print heads and recalibrate it, wasting ink and paper.. The general… Read more
process for printing something would take about an hour and a half. I regret smashing it, as it damaged my floor, but I am VERY glad to not have to deal with this product any more.
Horrible printer – This printer is the worst. I'd be better off not owning one. I keep thinking it will magically fix itself. Try as I might, I can't fix it. We've tried everything and everything that prints out is still illegible. Worst.
Clog central! – Bought a little over a year ago and moved so did not use for a few months. Since starting it up and replacing inks it will not ever print right again. No matter how many cleanings or new inks. Crap machine and will be going in the bin.
Not great for intermittent use – Great scanning features and software, but have struggled through the 3+ years of owning this printer in terms of reliability & print quality. Am replacing it with a Laser MFC just based on the poor experience with ink cartridges. Will probably miss the scanning features such as cloud integration to multiple OneDrives, etc.
Good feature set but poor print quality after 1-2 years of intermittent use – Have had this printer for almost 2 years now but the print quality has reduced and is almost unusable now. Have tried constant cleaning of the printer head and replaced ink cartridges with no luck.
Won't buy Epsom again – Honest opinion. Wasted far too much of my time simply trying to print a letter. Fully agree with others here, worst printer i've ever had. Constant error msgs, never prints well and ink dries out in days. Expensive to run and not worth repairing. Epsom have made a basic printer way too complicated trying to force you into simply buying more of their ink - regardless of the fact you haven't actually managed to print anything! Show details
Worst printer I've ever owned – I wish I never bought this printer, it's the second one I have bought as I though it was my fault the first one stopped printing properly. You need to change ink when it comes up with ink low warning as it can dry out but If you don't use the printer often it the printer heads dry up and you are continuously clean the heads which uses HEAPS of ink. DON"T buy it! I've even bought the printer cleaning kits with no help of unclogging the heads. Show details
A rip off piece of – Bought from officeworks- print quality is 3/10 but then got worse as printer head kept blocking. Spent hours running head cleaning wasting time. My mistake was buying a second one thinking the first was a dud. The re such rubbish i cannot tell you. The Ink is exorbitantly expensive and does not last long. The should not sell this one. officeworks bondi junction whom I bought it from - They are morons when it comes to customer service who refer you to Epson who do Zero- Zilch. Im off to buy a competitors printer.
Absolute garbage and terrible customer service – I took the first printer back within 24 hours of buying it as I could not get the cartridges to align properly. I should have left it at that! The next 13 months have been absolute torture as I have wrangled with cartridges that wont work, ink that bleeds out and really crappy print quality. I finally gave up on it and took it back to Officeworks,… Read more
who ran all the ''usual'' tests on it, told me it was irreparable but out of warranty, and took it off me to recycle. They said I should take it up with Epson. Epson customer service said that I could take it to an approve repairer (nearest one 300km away) but they would not pay. They said that I should but a new one. I recounted all the trouble I had had with the cartridges and they said that as the printer was 13 months old there would be no offer from them of help. If you buy an Epson printer, prepare to take it back and make sure you do so anyway within 11 months. It WILL make your life miserable.

Rubbish Printer, expensive, ink guzzler – Worked ok for 1 year then needed constant head cleaning and printed poorly. Paid nearly $400 at Office Works. Won't accept generic cartridges. Never buy Epson again. Guzzled ink to clean heads and did not clean them properly. Only scsn function works. Show details
Piece of junk printer don't buy it, its the biggest waste of money – Print heads need cleaning every time, spent all the ink doing this mostly, waste of time to clean print heads every time prior to using this machine. Epson, never again. Would not recommend this machine at all.
WORST PRINTER EVER – Printer used average once a week for 3 or 4 pages of printing out emails. Mostly text, some graphics. Seemed OK for first year. Mostly text, some graphics. Now constantly needs print head cleaning, at least 3 times each "go". Week later, blank page comes out and have to waste another half hour and lord knows how much ink doing cleaning. maybe needed fresh cartridges so just wasted $106 at Officeworks for another set of cartridges, no different. NEVER BUY EPSON AGAIN.
good for scanning but rubbish for printing – Print quality has been poor pretty much from the first few months of use which to me is unacceptable. Colours are uneven (particularly yellow) and no matter how much you run a print head clean the colours are never right. While the printing is poor the printer does a good job of scanning. Overall a waste of money as the primary purpose of this printer doesn't live up to expectations. Show details
Complete waste of money – I have now owned this printer for just on three years. Throughout ownership it has performed very poorly. Specifically, no matter how often the printing heads are cleaned that machine does not print cleanly (leaving multiple blurred lines of print). Second, when scanning a multiple page document the printer always jamms on the second page as it is fed into the printer. Thus today the printer goes to the tip & I will purchase a different brand. Don't buy! – Have had this printer for one month, and has already broken!! I bought it home and it would not connect to the wifi, just kept coming up with error, it then used an entire ink cartridge printer multiple copies of things when I only asked for one copy! Then when I was printing something it took up all the paper in the tray, instead of just one… Read more
piece of paper and now its very jammed and I can not un-jam it and it will not work at all. I have contacted support but unfortunately they were unhelpful. Am not going to have to go out and buy a new printer.
So Very Disappointed in Epson – Just read a few of the reviews so I don't need to repeat what they are saying except I don't think my printer lasted 6 months before the print was "second rate" smearing lines and sometimes not even printing lines and most of the print was burred. I don't need to print much these days so just put up with it until I needed to print out an important… Read more
legal document and so the fun began. Contacted Epson and it didn't take long for them to tell me it was a software problem and I need to have it repaired grrrrr. Contacted the repairer and am looking at $45 just for them to look and parts would be a plus. This will be the last Epson anything I buy and I'm so sad they are allowing this absolute rubbish on the market as I have had 3 Epson printers over the years and loved them
Only Lasted 2 Years – This printer has had a history of having to clean the print head and when done so still not up to standard. Recently, received an error code of 0X97. The Technician said the print head had to be replaced at about $AU146.00 so will have to get another printer. Very poor experience as this printer has had very light home use. sold to ensure it will just last the warranty period and as a means to sell the cartridges at ridiculous prices. Will have to try another brand other than Epson.
A Lemon – Since purchasing the printer for less than 2 years ago it will refuse to print (saying not connected) although the main menu show as connected and green light. Loose memory of toner and indicate it is empty although still full. Sometimes reinstalling the software will allow it to work. My brother in Europe has the same printer and the same… Read more
problems. Spoke to Epson who said it is a hardware problem and need to be repaired, which will have an inspection fee of $110
Not working after 2 years of light use – Had printer for 2 years. Already have the dreaded 0x97 error - which is the print head clogged up. It always required print head cleaning and alignment. The print quality is below par for color and just acceptable in B&W. The cartridges needed to be replaced often (mores than you would assume) and the printer will not work if a cartridge is empty… Read more
- frustrating when it is a color and you want to print in B&W. It is the first ink jet I have ever bought and it is a waste of money. Will be getting a laser printer.
No Good For General User – I have had this printer for 2 years but it has only worked for 1. It worked fine (not awsome) while I was studying and using it daily but when this dropped off to once or twice a week the quality dropped off quickly. I have since learned that the "fine" jets used to obtain the "better" print quality clog up readily unless used consistently. I… Read more
have had it cleaned out twice but now the tech I use tells me the print head probably needs replacement as it will no longer draw ink even though the jets are clear. This is all too costly and the printer is now useless to me. It still scans ok. I feel like I have wasted my money. This is my third printer in ten years and first Epsom. I will not buy another one. The print quality was not noticeably better than others I have had. The colour printing was fine but not exceptional. I expect better reliability given the depth of the market. The two star rating is because it did print black and white text ok. I got around 2500 pages printed over 1 year. More plastic and electrical junk for the world's ever increasing pile. Very disappointing.
The absolute worst printer! – The ink frequently runs out, and if it is low on any color it will prevent you from printing in Black and White - even with plenty of black ink. I have used Epson printers for years, and I was always pleased with their performance and reliability, but the WF-3620 is an absolute piece of trash. Do yourself a favor, stay far away from this printer! Show details
0x97 error – Fitted a new Epson XL black cartridge to the printer and immediately got the 0x97 error which none of the suggested fixes could solve. Disappointed with Epson on this occasion and I have been a long time purchaser of Epson printers in the past. Looking at a new printer as this Epson can't be fixed as whilst the 0x97 has gone the printer won't print. Show details
