Save your money and don’t lose over $800 ($499 printer + $340 black and colour ink cartridges) for this printer like I did. I don’t print much as most things I do are online. I only had it for over 1 year and it stopped printing. I have used this printer for less than 20 times throughout this period and now I cannot use it. Called up their… Read more
technical support. They could not help as it has passed the 1 year warranty and I would have to pay a technician to look at it. I told them I haven’t used it much, why is it happening so soon? Their answer: “you didn’t take care of it with regular maintenance”. I told them, why do I have to give it regular maintenance when it only been 1 year, my old printer lasted for 12 years with no maintenance. Said they could not help me with the printer nor the new ink cartridge I bought. Save your money and stay away from Epson printers. Their ink cartridge are expensive and their printers are unreliable with mechanical issues. Don’t lose your money like I did with their poor products.
Biggest hunk of sh1t printer ever. Do not buy – Somehow Epson have managed to make printing basic words the most complicated thing ever. To say it has bugs, errors, software issues, un-user friendly, faulty, frustrating ways is an UNDERSTATEMENT. DO NOT BUY..... Show details
Huge pain. Look for printer hire and never buy so that you can return it back if any problems – I will be short Epson printer is a huge pain. Do not buy it. Start having a feeling we as customers should stop buying printers and demand we want a hire and if you do not like it return it back. I wish I did not buy this as it makes more problems than it solves. Show details

A real piece of rubbish not worth wasting time on. WF-7845 confirmed by Epson as exactly the same as the WF-7840 – The slowest most troublesome printer I have ever had the misfortune of purchasing. Setting up is a nightmare - Didn't work using the setup from the DVD in the box, and no better from the recommended setup downloaded from the Epson site. The Australian call centre - in the Philippines and of course - totally hopeless and wasted hours of my time as… Read more
they seemed to know less than me about setting up their own product. I finally ended up getting a download link on my 4th attempt - by calling the no hopers and insisting they send me a setup procedure link and staying on the line while I set it up. Silly me, as once again they were more a hindrance than a help!!!!!! I have not yet found one thing the WF-7845 does as it should! It is far, far slower that ANY A3 Brother MF I have ever had going back years - and that is really saying something!!!! Printing takes forever to load and commence. I bought this to urgently print time sensitive documents for a legal matter and have been massively let down by the inefficiency of the print and scan functions, as well as by the lack of professional and/or timely support from Epson – worst overseas call centre EVER….and that too is really saying something as there are plenty of contenders in the TOTALLY USELESS CATEGORY. As far as Epson themselves go, they don't seem to even list the 7845 in setup, so 7840 series is the only close choice. The phone and online so-called customer support has been truly abysmal, when via phone the so-called customer support didn't really seem to understand or have knowledge of issues without putting me on hold presumably while looking things up or referred to colleagues. Online support is equally useless - reporting back by email UNSOLVED ISSUES AS SOLVED when they haven't been sorted at all and then expect you to go back to square one and start all over again. Even though the Epson Printer Connection Checker finds the 7845, so called ScanSmart NEVER, EVER locates the scan function - HOW DUMB IS EPSON DUMBSCAN!!! The phone support could not solve this (yet reported it as solved), with the only suggestion from Epson was to use Epson Scan 2 instead. Hopeless is not a sufficiently strong adjective to describe Epson or the WF 7845!
expensive to run – The Ink cartridges are very expensive an don't last long, everything is ok Show details
Amazingly expensive printer to run! – I bought the printer for business purposes, printing full colour images from GIS software. The Good: Fast, good images, versatile and does everything it claims The Bad: It can go through colour cartridges in a matter of a few (more than 3, less than 10) full colour A3 maps. I have bought the largest capacity cartridges I can find, at a very high… Read more
price (~$250 a set from Office Works). Have had the printer a few months and spent over $1000 in cartridges. I just can't afford this printer.
Updates: They disable your printer – When your Epson WF 7840 printer is low on ink it notifies your that an update is available. When this goes through, it disables the printer until you've replaced the ink cartridges. These are expensive - $120 as at June 2021 and they only last a very short time. Normally I'd say it was a good machine however Epson are robbing it's customers blind by using these practices.
