Why isn't there a 0 star for this – Out of ALL the crappy products i have ever had the displeasure of owning, this comes close. There has not be 1 occasions (honestly) that there hasn't been an issue. From connectivity, to ink, to paper, to scanning to literally everything you can imagine. So.. if you LOVE being Frustrated if you LOVE hating your own equipment, if you are into… Read more

pain suffering and punshment than THIS PRINTER IS FOR YOU. If however, you like operationally functioning equipment, like smoothies connectivity than BUY ELSEWHERE.

Absolute garbage Zero stars is more appropriate – This i sthe worst printer I have ever owned, and it isn't the cheapest! I have perservered with it because I wanted to avoid more e-waste. As stated by other reviewers, it won't even print in black and white if the colour cartridges are low on ink. The software is an absolute nightmare. The scanner is marginally better - another reason why I tried… Read more

to master it, since I use the scanner more often, but you need a degree to master the scanning process. I will never buy Epson again.

DO NOT BUY – Ink runs out very quickly and the system overrides the printer so that you cannot print in black and white even when the black ink is completely full. A complete waste of money and so so so frustrating. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND (Note - I never write reviews but this product has frustrated me enough to create an epson account to write this in the hopes other people do not buy it)

rubbish – I question how a supposedly reputable company can produce such a piece of junk. Uses ink like there is no tomorrow - the cartridges last maybe 10 pages and cost a bomb. UI very unfriendly. It sits and wirrs and makes noises but nothing happens. Takes forever to start working. This printer is an insult to customers. Epson has lost me as a… Read more

customer. And OfficeWorks for recommending and selling this has lost my favour.

Prospective buyers: stay away from this product. I would not accept it if you paid me.

You get what you pay for – It was cheap.... and for a reason. Hopeless Wi-fi. Drops out and takes ages to connect when it is working. Chews through cartridges. Spend a bit more is my advice.... to myself :-) Show details

Greedy stubborn uncooperative printer – Don't use use it much, but every time I've tried to print something, I have to go out and buy more ink. It won't print in black & white if there's no colour ink. It claims it has runs out of ink if it hasn't been used for a few weeks. I will tell everyone I know never to buy an Epson. Absolute dodgey piece of rubbish. I am going to dump it in… Read more

Epsom XP-235 – This is the worst printer I have ever used, it constantly rejects ink cartridges (and we only use genuine), seems to go through insane amounts of ink compared to other printers I have owned, and regularly paper jams. I am a tech person and can NEVER just hit print and expect a print out, I have to re-seat the paper, turn on and off, remove and reinsert ink cartridges. Show details

Worst printer ever! – The ink finishes very quickly, even with the XL. It will not let you print if one of the ink cartridges are empty. I also found out that you can only buy the Epson no 29 ink from Officeworks, bigW and other shops do not stock them. It is one of the hardest printers to use, not user friendly at all. Changing the cartridges can get confusing. I… Read more

did like the wireless printing and app, but it is really slow at times. Stay away from this printer. Waste of money.

Hopeless – Always having trouble getting a wireless connection. Very slow scanning, very slow user interface and confusing installation process. Every time a new computer is connected to my home network I need to initiate setup again, as there is no simple option to register an existing printer. People who designed the software for this printer do not know how horrible experience it is to use this software. Money is totally wasted on this printer. Show details

Total SCAM – doesnt let you print in black and white when colour is out. I tried aftermarket colour ink and it then decided that it didnt recognise even the black cartridige which was genuine. They have a chip in them so they know if they sold it. SCAM Show details

worst printer of all time! wish there was a zero stars option – holy crap!!!! could this be the worst printer of all time? Yes...yes it is... don't even know where to begin with this piece of junk! I am soooo looking forward to joyfully putting an axe through this later on this afternoon. How can Epson get away with selling such a piece of garbage? So many issues....as other have said, also goes through ink at an extortionate rate.... stay away people!  Show details

Cant print in black because a colour is empty this printer is total crap epsom crap – Don't bother printer prints 2 pages and then says buy more ink your getting low,if the colour is out or low you should still be able to print in black/ grayscale. back to cannon for me.bought from officeworks at virginia you tell them the ink was bought yesterday and only printed 2 pages and all you get is don't believe that did you put it in… Read more

A scam – I'm out of one colour and have plenty of black but the printer wont let me print in black and white or greyscale. It's a scam to make you buy more and quicker. I think the mentality of it all is, if they let you get through all the colour like they used to, it's cheaper to buy another printer than a pack of ink cartridges. Well, you've done your dash with me Epson........bye bye Charlie!  Show details

SCAM! – Tell me how I can't print a black and white document when I have a FULL black toner and an empty blue toner? Telling me I have to buy a blue toner to be able to print in black and white? Seriously Epson? Massive SCAM.... Will NEVER buy Epson again!!!  Show details

Terrible printer – Their software is not user friendly at all. Takes ages to scan documents. Just a rubbish product do not buy it. Print quality is average, have to refill often and does not print only black if you run out of color ink. Not reliable at all. sometimes it is faster to drive to Officeworks and something printed rather than printing something from this crappy printer.  Show details

Now you can be the personal assistant of an office appliance - all day! – First of all, do not read EPSON-hosted reviews because you will notice they do not match third party sites (wonder why?). Print quality is fine. It prints 25% of the time at best. Other times you will be taking the paper in and out, pressing buttons, etc. They really need to sort out the paper feed and sensor. If it is low on colour ink (which… Read more

Terrible printer – The only reason it got one star is because its print quality is decent enough. Everything else is abysmal. Unreliable, expensive to keep running and constantly faulting. I wasn't informed in store that it is an Officeworks exclusive, which means I can't buy ink anywhere else. This is difficult when I don't have an Officeworks nearby and their postage is expensive.  Show details

Stay away from this printer. Absolute junk – I have had nothing but trouble with this printer. Does not print half the time and does not detect the paper the rest of the time. Almost always in an "error state" Don't believe it when they say reinstalling drivers will help. It doesn't. In all these years I have never had so much trouble with any printer. Stay away from it and Epson in general. They are not the company they used to be many years ago.  Show details

Crap – This is the worst printer I’ve ever used. You put two pieces of paper in and it says jammed. You use the ink once and have to replace it. It’s a crappy printer with crappy results. I hate it it’s caused me so much stress at university and I had to buy this for myself. It’s not cheap but it acts it. Awful. Don’t buy.  Show details

You get what you pay for – Certainly the cheapest printer I've ever owned, and it shows. Prints are slow, and it's missing any sort of digital screen, leaving you to decipher the hieroglyphics on the front panel. Quite slow to print text documents, but they look fine. I haven't tried many colour prints. If you run out of a coloured ink it won't let you print black and… Read more

white documents, even if you have plenty of black ink. This is a pet peeve of mine and drives me nuts. It used to happen on my old printer but I learned eventually there was a button to override the warning and print anyway.

Inks run out very quickly even with light use, and it is literally cheaper to buy a new printer (which includes a set of inks) than to buy a full set of inks separately.

dont waste your money – poor quality prints. wireless printing/scanning are slow and stop half way for long periods of time. took me 3 hours to scan 20 documents. after installing on my mac it retected the software and i had to start again. i have to switch from 5g to 2.4g everytime i want to use the thing because it doesnt support 5g. i ending up smashing it just to… Read more

So far so good! – Just recently bought this unit as the salesman at good guys recommended this model as they have less come back and the ink cartridges can be changed out separately. I must say i am happy with it so far, does great scans, photo copies and printing. the software is easy to use.  Show details

Pretty good – I only recently renewed my printer as it was an older Canon to the Epson XP-235, the installation was easy the setup time took less then 20 minutes which was great. I really liked the idea that is a wireless unit as we all know computers have enough wires as it is, so it was nice to have no problem locating a good place to have my printer. The… Read more

refills come in 4 individual cartridges red, yellow, blue and black. I think it's a cool idea so if you are running low on one tonner you can replace the one that is low instead of having to replace the entire lot.

So far so good, I haven't had any issues with paper jamming or problems connecting to the wifi.

I have only done basic prints so far haven't tried photo print but the basic document print was clean and very clear to read.

When I was checking out this printer I think the cartridges was priced at around $16.00 each so that was a big relief then having to pay $40-$50 on other printers on the market.

Fingers crossed the product continues to perform as well as it is right now.

Poor quality, blurry prints – Connecting to devices fine. Compact, light and easy to set up but prints are poor quality and literally blurry. It was a cheaper printer being around $90 but I thought the prints would be at least average and readable. Not sure if it the brand or this model but would not recommend  Show details

Good, reliable appliance – Print quality good, operation reliable & hassle-free.No paper jams. Purchased 18 months ago for $59 from Officeworks who seem to sell this model & ink cartridges exclusively. As usual cheap appliance but relatively expensive cartridges. Non-genuine work well at a greatly reduced price. Would highly recommend for non-commercial home use.  Show details

Rubbish Printer – We bought two of these printers and both have been temperamental. We have had issues with them printing and just placing print jobs in a queue. It is difficult to find out why this is occurring. it is very limited on printing on both sides or maybe the instructions are extremely poor as I haven't managed to work that out. It can be done if you're exceptionally fast at reloading the paper!!  Show details

Wireless printing – Happy with this except you need a wire (not provided) for setup (and then never need it again). Print quality is good and paper doesn't jam. Ink is easy to buy online and then quick to arrive. I wouldn't necessarily use an inkjet for larger jobs due to the time it takes to print but for home use I'd recommend this one.  Show details

Worst printer Ive ever had – I bought this printer just 2 months or so ago, after my old one died. I'd had my old one for at least 6years and yes, it had a few issues every now and then, like all technology, it was generally pretty good. This new Epson however, hasn't even lasted a full 6 months yet and already it hates talking to the computer, or acknowledging anything… Read more

really...

I've just tried to print a simple word document and although the computer told me all was well, the printer acted like it wasn't even connected to power, apart from a tiny "on" light. It was definitely correctly connected, I checked.

The epson website and support was pretty useless too. It seems this issue happens a lot, but despite that, it still is not working properly.

DO NOT buy this stupid printer!
