Pricy and malfuntioning – Bought This at BEST BUY on APRIL 6, 2015 went to install black ink cartridge after purchase it was very difficult to get printer to read my new ink cartriges, spent an hour or so to get it to read black ink cart. Had to have my daughter-in-law do, hard time also. Now, having a hard time printing out mailing label, now, it might be something else, but never had a problem before. Will be purchasing a new printer, will not be an epson. Show details

Don’t ever get it, it is a waste of money! – Print quality is terrible. I do not print that much just stuff for school. It goes through ink like crazy and ink for this is expensive. Wasted lots of time because it has issues connecting to my computer. Now it is falling apart! It has sat in the same spot on my desk not moved, nothing kept on it, kept clean, yet now it cannot even bring paper… Read more

through. Stupid plastic wheel in it is now broken so it cannot pull the paper out of the cassette. Poorly made. It was a huge waste of money.

This printer is POS – Constantly requires head cleaning, which uses a lot of ink. After installing new cartridge in few weeks it is already printing gray with missed lines. I do not print a lot - not more then 5 pages per day. Also starts very slowly. Small tray for paper. I do not recommend to by small Epson printers  Show details

So Far So Good, much Better than CANNON – Years ago I used to be a Cannon fan but as the years went on the Cannon printers got less and less functions while getting larger and larger and the newest ones are so slow you can't get any work done. This Epson printer is replacing a twenty year old cannon MP800 that a two year old Cannon MX-926 could not. From boot up to use this unit is… Read more ·  2

fairly quick, the first page comes out only a little slower than the advertised spec and I am vary happy with the print quality. DVD printing is fairly simple and while the tray seems harder to push in than I would like everything works great. The DVD tray is located at the bottom of the printer and so you must be careful not to have the printer too close to the edge of the table or it sticks out. Set up was simple but the printer did take quite a while to set up initially with it's automatic ink cartridge initilization, they did warn it would take up to seven minutes but it was a one time thing and forgotten now. Compared to my new Cannon MX-926 this printer is FAST! It can print a DVD, two A4 pages and a 4x6 photo before the Cannon starts up.

The XP-810 has a very SMALL FOOTPRINT and takes up very little space, at least 30% less than the MX926. When it shuts down there are no holes or protrusions outside its cube except the DVD tray at the base. The touch screen is clear and sensitive, all the settings and tools ate easily found, the installation software all works well and installed without a hitch.

Like I said it is early days yet and this is my first Epson, so far my expectations have all been met or exceeded. On the negative side the printer is not completely silent, the fax beeper and error alarm is very loud and harsh and finally the paper trays have a small capacity. To balance this out there is a rear feed, a very small footprint and FAST RESPONCE.
