Great idea and can be a lot of fun if it worked all of the time – Unfortunately, I have found that they drop off the app frequently and if you go to different locations they don't automatically link to location. Most staff seem not to have a good knowledge of how to rectify issues that arise.

Need help with reconnection – Hi. Please help! How do you change your serial number to connect with another email. I borrowed one and used it and connected it to my email. When I gave it back to my sister, she tried to connect it to her email, but won’t let her. I have bought my own and am using it but now she can’t use hers. Is there a way to reset the monitor or will it work… Read more

Wondering why I didn't get this before – Really good fr F45 workouts. You get to see where you stand with others in the session since your performance is on the board. A great way to also keep pushing yourself further, especially when you feel like you want to give in to the pain and let go Show details

Great for F45 – Love the F45 lionheart monitor when im training at F45. It pushes me harder, the trainers can see how hard (or not) I'm working, and it gives a competitive edge. Fantastic Show details

Lionheart not working – My lionheart isn't showing up anymore on the TV. After a few minutes it shows up in grey but stays on 0% and 0.0pts. I've even put in a new battery. How do I fix this?! Thank you! Show details

Doesn’t work – Terrible. Doesn’t work. Reports used to come on a timely matter. Now I’d be lucky to get them next day. Many times it registers and shows activity at the studio, but they are unable to capture the report. Technical support is NOT helpful.

Does what it advertises – I joined a F45 on a 6 month contract and got the LionHeart heart rate monitor included in the deal. It does what it says so I can't complain. I have since unpaired my LionHeart heart rate monitor and paired my Garmin HRM Run to the LionHeart website and now I can monitor my heart rate on the F45 LionHeart screen and also on my garmin Fenix 5X. For me that is a much better option.

OK for F45 training days – I got this band after signed off with the challenge. It seems to work great but it does the same job as a fit watch (ie Fitbit). The good part of this item is that you can track in any screen while in use at F45 however, it seems not to sync with F45 lion heart portal at times.

Good to see your workout craphouse to change battery – Its good to see and track your efforts during your workout. But my major issue is in replacing the battery. Followed all instructions and those of the trainers and have completely destroyed the back of the monitor so now have to purchase a new one. A better design would be appreciated. Also the band could be a bit more functional with a different clasp as they keep slipping.

Love the product, it just needs more functionality! – I own a FitBit and love it, but I feel in order to truly track a workout I must wear a HRM around my chest. I own a MyZone HRM that I've used for years and it has an awesome app that allows me to see my progress during a workout on my IPhone and when I complete a workout it creates an awesome bar graph showing the results of my workout. In this… Read more

same app it keeps a log of all of my workouts and I can even link up with my friends who I workout with so we can see each other's results and cheer each other on. Through this app I can name my workout so I know which workout I completed (ex: F45 Athletica) and I can rate it. This is the type of functionality I wish F45 LionHeart would incorporate into their product and then I'd use it. My F45 LionHeart HRM is still sitting brand new in the box because I don't like just receiving an email with a line graph - please offer an app with awesome capabilities and I will jump on switching over to your HRM!

Over-rated and over-priced but handy in session – There's little more to this product than being able to see your heart rate and how you are comparing to others in your class in real-time. There is so much that could be done to enhance the back-end analytics and give a more comprehensive view of your workout. I notice they issued a cease and desist to a free app make who did just that.… Read more

Disappointing as for the price you get little more than your real time heart-rate.

For a more wholistic approach and much better data analytics you'd be better off purchasing a FitBit or similar tracking product.

Good start but can do better – I like being able to compete within the session, seeing mine and others’ readings - great idea! I like the analytics, good measure of progress but would like to see more graph and charting options provided. They can offer to graph a range of dates, graph your overall progress over time, or even just summarise the results you have. As it is you… Read more

have to scroll through each daily chart and look at 3 events on a page only. It’s good, but room to improve.

Doesn't work very well but keeps sessions competitive – The F45 Lionheart reports that my heart rate does not go above 156 bpm even though I know when running I often sit at 160+ quite comfortably and trust me in some sessions I must be at my VO2 max! I often get 2 reports sent to me after my session (someone else mentioned they also get this) with often different results? I gave it 2 stars and not 1… Read more

as it does keep me competitive during sessions trying to beat others while working out even though I am sure I am a lot more exhausted than some of the other people training but I have no evidence to back that up. Overall not a very well implemented solution and the cost of the product feels like a total rip off and is clearly aimed at the cheapest solution possible to maximize profits. Look online for a second hand one if you are keen as many people offload them after they realise how crap they are but for me I will keep it for competitive reasons. Would I buy it again? No. It would be great if the screens supported 3rd party HR monitors (like Polar/Garmin) and next time I will buy a Garmin watch and do my own reporting!!

Love my LionHeart – Great value for money, so encouraging seeing your heart rate and points up on the F45 screen. Very basic heart rate monitor, easy to register online and commence using. If you want a basic heart rate monitor, this one is a cracker.

Overrated – I concur with the adjacent statement. When it works its ok but the stupid thing is, you need to log in to use it and then you get an email with your results. More often than not the email never arrives or arrives hours later.

Deserves Zero Stars – Do not purchase this product, stick with reliable heart rate monitors such as Garmin or Fitbit. I bought this heart rate monitor for $50 prior to the F45 challenge (it was sold as a must have). The issues were obvious from day one. Not receiving post work out logs. Ability to use the HRM outside of the studio is confusing and unclear. Connects… Read more

to phone but no app to see data in real time. The issue however that bothered me the most was that this HRM is a random numbers generator when it came to calories. The log would state that for a 45 minute weights class I would burn 460 cals. This is ridiculous. I did numerous classes with the LionHeart monitor and then compared the same classes with my Garmin and a Fitbit. The Garmin and Fitbit were always similar in calories burnt but the LionHeart was always over by 100 to 150 calories, even more! I brought these issues up immediately with my F45 studio (other people where having problems with their monitors too) and was promised 'software upgrades' (2 months down the track!) would likely fix the problem. Which it did not.

The owner of the studio will not refund me, he openly admits that these HRM are not up to scratch and has 30-60 monitors that he cannot sell, so he will not refund.

To make matters worse I have been referred to LionHeart Tech support. They are truly incompetent. Six weeks and multiple emails later I still do not have a refund nor any form of a solution. To be honest I wonder if this is a legitimate company. Who would treat their customers like this? There is also no physical address on their website and the email from 'tech support' is extremely informal.

As I said before stick to reliable HRMs and companies that care about their customers! Do not buy a LIONHEART!

Update: > 6 months after the above issue was raised, LionHeart Tech finally agreed to refund for the faulty HR monitors (mine and the studio owner). They have reassured me that this particular batch of monitors appeared to be faulty and that overall the monitors work well and they've found no further faults. I was pleased that the company ended up doing the right thing it is just a shame that it took so long.
