5 Russell S  · Great Advisory Service – Great advisory service with skilled editors who really know their stuff!
5 phillip w.  · state the fact simply and move on – I find too much woffle when writers are trying to substantiate a point. articles then become too long to read.
5 Eugene  · Love the charts – Having the charts explained by Murray really helps you understand why you would want to invest in the companies he recommends.
5 kerribilly7  · Very Appreciated – Good value informative advice well presented with in depth details regarding recommendations Thank You
5 Paul .  · great service – Its a great service . I love the reasoning and the logic in the service .

DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO THIS COMPANY. I will be lodging a complaint with ACCC and AFCA regarding their business practices. I am always keen to support Aussie small business and so handed over my credit card for a recent promotion. BIG MISTAKE. Not only did they charge me the promotional price TWICE (has never happened with any other company in my… Read more

20-something year history of purchasing things online), they are impossible to contact and will not refund your money nor respond to any requests. INSTEAD, they continuously send reminder emails to update your credit card details or out of office messages. Absolutely appalling and I cannot believe a financial company can operate this way in Australia. Very telling that the distribution manager only lurks and responds to reviews on here, and does not even address the substantive elements of people's complaints. Maybe spend more time servicing your actual inbox and do your job? Only giving 1 star as I cannot give -100. TERRIBLE company.

It is December 2025. Has anyone else noticed their subscription for Australian Small-Cap Investigator and Diggers and Drillers has gone from an annual fee of $99 each to $299 each? A 202% increase!!! Also, I am sick and tired of their cross marketing, trying to push you into buying into their other, particularly much more expensive subscriptions. Show details

A red flag should always be raised for any company that does not allow you to easily cancel your subscription yourself (i.e. with a few clicks of a mouse). Having to call your credit card company to place a merchant block on another company because… Read more

they failed to reply to your email asking for your subscription to be cancelled, is simply unacceptable. Otherwise, maybe I got some value out of their advice over the last few years but I never tracked it so can't be certain.

Follow-up  · Since my last review, my rating has gone down to 1 star. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking they might honour my request to cancel, but they failed to do so and attempted to charge my credit card $199. Thankfully I was proactive and knew this was coming, so putting in place the merchant block was a smart move, but it is appalling that… Read more

Not worth it. You get a lot of advertising and little service for expensive subscriptions. I paid several hundred dollars to find out one of their portfolio and their track record. Most of the Fat Tail information are general information which you can get elsewhere for free, e.g. blogs, YouTube etc. Some of their research are actually wrong or… Read more

inaccurate.

Actual useful and actionable information are limited, unless you pay for premium service, which I didn't do. For example, a few days ago, there was tedious (30min) webinar which alerted users to three new stock picks. To know what the picks are you have to pay a premium subscription of about $2,000, discounted to half price. Three stock suggestions for $1,000?

Signing up for one of dozens of newsletters will make you a target for selling the other newsletters. You don't get much value for your one newsletter, not much help for serious investing. Fat Tail is an outfit for selling over-hype expensive subscriptions. Once you are trapped, they will charge your credit card without notifying you first.

Experienced, savvy and value for money experts who will educate the newcomer to the expert level! – I joined Fat Tail Research more than a year ago, following a small inheritance I received, with view to educate myself about investments and how to "stretch out" the benefits. It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. The guys running it are engaging, interesting, their investment education read like a detective story but the results… Read more

are real! A great team of people. As my initial investments were cautious I ended up investing far less than what I could have following their advice. I signed up for three of their advisory services while on promotion and I haven't regretted it. The most valuable advisory service, but also the one I paid for the most, was the crypto advisory by Ryan Dinse, Crypto Capital Premium. Although the subscription is slightly more expensive it enables one to invest small amounts of money in the enormous and fast generating world of cryptos. This was exactly what I was after, as I do not have the money to throw at traditional ASX investments which cost a whopping $500 minimum. My other recommendations are Brian Chu's advisory on Gold and James Cooper's advisory on Australian minerals. Both are spot on, high quality, easy to understand (even for the newcomer and the layman, like me) and their presentations are detailed and highest quality and uncover some gem opportunities everyone else is passing by. I cannot recommend them enough!

Real estate tracking up – I have subscribed to Agora Media various newsletters for over 5 years, being mostly satisfied with the information and ideas covered. The stock analyses are quite in depth and brings together relevant information in one place. I have purchased some of the recommendations if the stock fits my beliefs and what I expect. Win some, lose some, I always… Read more

keep to the adage " If you can't afford to lose it, don't buy". Some of the writers are more adept than others at keeping my interest, so I tend to stick with them. I don't like the push by the company to assume that I need or want to either invest in high flying trading programs or pay thousands of dollars a year to "get rich", so find the constant emails pushing these subscriptions annoying, especially as they are now increasing with the higher turnover in lead editors. The original email for each of these new ideas needs a reply option to opt out of the reminders, while staying in the service. I think the company needs to remember that investors need to trust their stock advisor and look on them as a trusted friend. Constant changing of the guard does not engender suvh trust.

too many spam emails from these guys – I subscribe to 2 of the fat tail newsletters and have been getting reasonable return on some of the investments they recommend. some not so good but still early days to . But what I greatly dislike is the amount of advertising disguised as financial education. Today I received 5 emails trying to sign me up for another program. I reckon i got… Read more

something like 20 just for 2 different newsletters which I watched part of the sales video and logged out due to too much waffle. I have tried to unsubscribe and have sent emails expressing my displeasure all to no avail. If you can cut through all the bull they do have some good recommendations and value for money.

Garbage Service – Joined this mob 3 months ago, after receiving many emails with recommendations I am none the wiser. They ramble on and on about the same thing, and when I listened to an extended podcast about investing in gold they tried to rip into me for more money to get the recommendation. I emailed them giving them to complain but got no response, DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME, better not charge me for renewal [Content Removed].

"Very Confident in The Expertise of The Fat-Tail Team" – I am not a sophisticated Trader, but rather a Novice. I have been on the outer Fringe of Fat-tail for quite awhile and I always look forward to receiving their Up Dates, Overviews & indepth analysis, all of which are Educational and informative, for me! Infact sometimes I can find them a bit Hard Going, but that is because of my lack of Experience. Overall, I am very happy with the manner in which The Fat-Tail Team, share their expertise! Show details

Customer service – I subscribe to some services offered by Fat Tail but signed up for one that I felt didn’t suit me, I rang and requested a refund on that particular product. Within a working week the money was refunded and I am happy to recommend them and their customer service. I’ve seen negative feedback but am pleased with the way my case was handled. Thanks Fat Tail..

some improvement required1!!! – finding it very difficult and time consuming to get to reports that have been said to be available to read from the editors. Maybe it's just computer illiteracy? i'm not sure, and being an Alliance member too.

Rubbish – Since I joined I have continual emails requesting more money from me for them. Factor in the cost of advice and only buying what they say, I have lost money over 6 months. It is very right wing orientated with numerous ticks to the LNP. I wish I was never involved.

Excellent but certainly not Mainstream – Having semi-retired as an accountant and senior public servant and now managing my own SMSF super for my wife and I, I needed some better long-term advice than what you get from the usual run of the mill advisors, and you certainly get a great variety of advice from Fat Tail. Starting with Diggers and Drillers I next joined Retirement Trader,… Read more

Difficult to take off auto re-new from subscriptions – Subscriptions auto re-new should be an opt in, not an automatic condition of subscription. I have lost track of how many years I may have not renewed for various publications. The authors seem to spruik personal opinions re coal gas climate change rather than concentrate on giving useful reports.

Can't get any response after subscribing and unable to log in – Only just subscribed and unable to log in and can't get any help. So far I have experienced live chat that is not live, a customer service number where nobody seems to exist and support emails that nobody responds to. This is a pathetic company that appears to be a complete rort! Will be asking for my money back, although now wondering how I will do that if I can't contact them.

Unsatisfactory – I recently paid for a lifetime strategic Intelligence subscription, with the understanding that all content from Jim Rickards and anyone else in the future would be included. They are happy to give a book out to new subscribers, but want to charge extra for lifetime members. This was not a cheap subscription, but Fattail still want to grab more money.

Non-existent Customer Service – If you are looking for an advisory service that is willing to respond to emails on simple matters eg web-site issues, look elsewhere. Have sent multiple emails with no response. Have spoken on the chatline, who promised to forward to IT specialist. Nothing heard.

Utter Tosh – I have subscribed to several of their publications and found little joy in following their advice. They call themselves ‘contrarian’ analysts which translated means they can lose you money when others help you make it. Their latest iteration of Diggers and Drillers is farcical. The original D&D was effectively closed down after a litany of… Read more

Extreme Right Wing Views Pushed Constantly – I subscribe to one of their services called Strategic Intelligence. The main contributing editor constantly pushes ideas such as 'Climate change is not happening', 'CO2 does not contribute to Climate Change', in the USA Biden stole the last election, etc. The other contributor also contributes such views and finishes his articles with "God Bless"… Read more

which is (to me anyway) extremely annoying and reveals his religious views which should be irrelevant.

Fat Tail makes sense – The straight forward discussions and analysis of what all the noise means for investors is honest and refreshing. Nobody knows for sure what the future holds far enough ahead to be certain of making good investment decisions. However Fat Tail talk a lot of sense when it comes to beating the odds.

My favourite advisory service – As a Life time Alliance member I have access to all of Fat Tail’s advisories. There is a vast amount of information passing through the system, it is quite time consuming ( and fairly necessary) to read and absorb all the information. As there are often overlaps of recommendations of a particular stock may I suggest the publication of an index of… Read more

recommended stocks, placed alphabetically by ticker and with reference to the name and date of the advisory, to be published maybe 4 times per year. Such an index would aid the investor to reference differing views of your advisors on particular stocks.

Secondly, in my experience most advisors make recommendation to BUY, the recommendations to SELL are rare. In this volatile environment that we are experiencing I believe I would benefit from a raised level of assistance in deciding to sell.
