Fantastic – Had our dual dish drawer s for 7 years. Been brilliant, installed myself. Uses not much water. Will buy again when this wears out. Made the mistake of not using bottom drawer for 12 months. (Says in manual not to do this) and bottom drawer motor partially seized. Fixed it myself, now good as gold, problem caused by me, not machine. And to the… Read more

clowns complaining about having to clean them out occasionally. No machine will be able to save you from stupidity and ignorance, now matter how complex or automated its design. Occasional cleaning and maintenance is required for any device/ machine.

Could never go back to a normal dishwasher after a Dishdrawer - am buying another one – We have a DD that must be 12 or 13 years old and has given excellent service. I could never go back to a normal single door dishwasher after the convenience of a double dishdrawer, It is unfortunate that some people have had a poor experience with these models because the concept is brilliant. In normal day to day use we always have at least one… Read more

empty draw so dirty dishes always have a home off the kitchen bench.

We have had the service man out once (at about the 10 year mark) to replace the main electronic board after we'd overflowed the machine a few times and it was giving occasional errors.

I think the secret to these machines is to look after them, empty the filters regularly (almost daily) and ensure no cling wrap finds its way in the machine or that any of those small children's plastic name stickers from lunchboxes become dislodged in the wash (they tend to curl up and find their way to the plumbing and cause problems). Also once a year or so get into each drawer and pull the racks, filters, wash arm, bottom plate, and pump out and give it a good clean out (it is a pretty straightforward process and the gunk that can cling to the underside of the bottom plate is a sight to behold).

A big hurrah to the Fisher & Paykel service people in Brisbane too. Very prompt, reasonably priced for a home visit service, and they replaced (free of charge) both pump mechanisms because there had been an "update" for this model (even though they were working fine). He also advised us that because the machine was quite old that it is probably not worth getting them out again for any problems and gave us a $100 rebate certificate off a new dishdrawer purchase. Brilliant customer service from F&P!

Alas the top drawer has started giving some issues lately (not sealing properly it seems) so we are off to purchase a new dishdrawer. We wouldn't consider anything else. Double draw design is brilliant - so convenient. Probably requires more cleaning/care than a traditional dishwasher.

Bad – dont take long to install ,untill you come to fitting the plastic kick board which does not fit because you have added a n extra piece of curved plastic on the underside of the bottom drawer , we now have to cut away kick board with a pair of snips so it fits anto slots ,not happy at all e3conomy they use to be aesy to install untill some idiot in… Read more

the design office changed the the underside of the lower drawer so the plastic kick strip wont fit, you now have to use tin snips to trim it to fit the curve of the underside of the drawer very dissapointed with fisher pikel , you are like the rest of the manufacturers, IF IT WORKS CHANGE IT .us plumbers are not happy at all , i for one try and talk people out of buying these products that are too awkward to fit ,wake up to yourselves ,IF IT WORKS LEAVE IT

OK – FP have built a solid reputation on building appliances that live the life of the warranty and not much more. The DD's are a classic example of that design whilst innovative, they are susceptible to failures that ultimately will leave the owner bitter with their purchase. In the case of the DD's as opposed to their fridges and washers, they are… Read more

also capable of being repaired whilst still operating. I would buy these units again however they are not for everyone. I have owned the FP DD for several years and have had my share or experiences. Our units have had multiple failures and cost us a small fortune in repair costs however we are now learning to live with our twins and they are starting to grow up.

One of the neat features is that if you do have a unit fail, generally there is a spare one within arms reach, not many others can claim such redundancy in design.

The units are good at what they do and a small load is quickly dealt with. They are great for large loads as well with the twins working on different types of loads eg at a party, one can be doing a big dirty load of plates and the other giving glasses a quick light wash. The DD is very susceptible to poor washes due to debris being trapped in the impeller. This can be either food such as corn, egg shells or small pieces of plastic. I have even found small stones, presumably from lettuce preparation.

If you do not load the unit correctly, it is easy to jam the wash arm and you end up with a load of washed dirty plates. This is the most common problem with the DD's as it is nearly impossible to spin the arm once the unit is loaded as it is under the wire shelf at the bottom of the draw.

Terrible – The internal workings are so cheaply made, it has left an overall bad taste for us. Our last dishwasher lasted 20 years without anything breaking - this is 3 years and every rack and every little plastic hinge has broken. Overall a piece of garbage. I wouldn't recommend this dishwasher to anyone. Looks good. The plastic, rather than rubber coated metal racks and pieces, constantly break - and we don't even put heavy loads in the dishwasher.

Bad – I'd look elsewhere. F&P products are built to look the part but fall short in the quality department. We wouldn't buy another F&P product again. Niether should you if you want a reiable product. Idea of only using it for small loads. Styling. Poor quality of internal fittings. Dish racks in both draws Rusted out. Difficult to clean out bottom of… Read more

dishwasher where items are collected. Noisy for the generation of washer it is..... This is 2007. Poor service from F&P!!! Take a look at my review of our F&P fridge. What a nightmare that was!
