Fisher & Paykel Double DishDrawer Series 7 DD60DCW7 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: DD60DCW7The handle on our lower dish drawer is coming loose and getting worse It is the rectangular section one There doesn't seem any way of accessing the fixings No hidden Allen screws etc What can I do ?
You can buy a new handle kit. Approximately $210.
That’s what happened to our then when ours eventually broke I just used araldite to glue it back on.
When you push the bottom draw in it does not go in as far as the top draw .It always looks like it is not fully closed. We have removed the bottom draw and made sure all the supply and drain hoses are secured with their retaining clips and are not fouling anything. The draw still functions as it should ?
The "claws" at the back of the runners have been pushed to the closed position (claw pointing backwards) when the drawer has been in the open position. Remove the drawer and pull the spring loaded claws to the forward position.
Is the handle a seperate strip or is it a full top piece (panel) required to repair

I have a 2 draw dishwasher model DD60DCW7.. When I open the top drawer after a wash, there is water leaking.

My DD60DCW7 bottom dish drawer has broken handle. I have a replacement but don't know how to fit it. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Richard.
Turn machine off at the wall. You will need long nose pliers. There are two plugs on either side of the dishwasher drawer. Twist and pull those out. The entire front panel will pop off leaving the handle. You should then slide the handle to the left (the entire control panel is a part of the handle. Once its slid off, unplug the display screen from the main part of the dishwasher - taking note of how it plugs in.
You can removed the the display screen from the handle by popping it out with your fingers or gently with a flat head screw driver. If you didn't receive buttons when you bought your handle you will need to be carefull not to break the exsisting ones
Transfer the display to your new handle. repeat steps in reverse. Connect wires to main part where you disconnected them for earlier, slide handle on (left to right), pop the front piece back on and put two plugs back into side of dishwasher.
If you google replacing dishdrawer handle there is quite a lot of videos showing you how to do this,
Hope this helps :-)
Thanks Sahri. I looked at google and found plenty of videos but non on replacing handles, so I bit the bullet and followed your instructions. Worked perfectly! Dismantling was very easy. Re-assembly was also easy, a little difficult replacing the front panel but eventually got it fixed.
Thanks again Sahri.
I've had the same issue. Thanks Richard for the original post and Sahri for the solution to the problem. Tried your advice Sahri with good results. The front panel was bit difficult to re-assemble but with a little persistence it slotted into the handle again.
How do I set the 2 drawers to wash simultaneously? I can't find clear instructions in manual
I had the same problem with DD60DAW8 The technician said the model was new to him but it seems that you have to wait until the first drawer programmed starts before switching to programme the second. Hopefully I will not now wake up to half a dishwasher of dirty dishes.
Can I use dishwasher tablets in my two drawer?
Powder or liquid is going to be better. Tablets may not dissolve completely as you are essentially doing a half load of dishes each time. You may also end of with detergent residue on your dishes. Coles powder and rinse aid work fine with my dishwasher!
I love my single dish drawer Model DD60SCW7. It is perfect for my use. I use it once a day usually run overnight. My question is how long does the steam keep venting from the drawer? I unload the dishwasher in the morning still steamy even in the afternoon when I open the drawer it is still very steamy? Or am I supposed to leave drawer open to let the steam out? I would appreciate any help with this question. Thank You! Veronica
Yes, the F&P dishdrawer has a drying function, but it still seams very 'steamy' whenever the drawer is finally opened within 24 hours. The drying function runs for only so many minutes, and if the drawer is 'built-in' there there is poor air venting for the humidity to escape. The best practice is, after the cycle has finished, simply to open the drawer 10cm or so and then unpack it atleast an hour later.
I have just bought the new two drawer f&p dishwasher with the controls for both drawers on the outside of the top drawer. I have not worked out how to use it with both drawers washing at the same time. This is possible isn't it?
Please help!
I have the exact same one! Haha You can control both draws whenever you want independent of eachother. Press the draw button to switch between draws you want to control. (They will get highlighted as u switch. If you highlight the top draw and press stop it ill dyop thr top draw and bottom will keep going.

Your answer doesn't make sense to me.
I want to make both drawers work at the same time.
Can you explain again please
I bought mine yesterday and was told that both drawers can operate independently, and it says the same in the instructions. By way of the word "can" being there as opposed to the word can being absent, it is virtually stating that both drawers operate simultaneously but the machine has the added feature of them being able to operate one at a time. It would seem however, they cannot operate simultaneously, which is a real pain. If this is the case I feel like I have been ripped off. Hopefully I am wrong and it is just a matter of the instructions being incomplete. I would also like an explanation.
You have been ripped. They do not work simultaneously. Resign yourself to a life of single drawer use and be happy that you have that feature.
This will be the last Fisher and Paykel I buy. I strongly suspect that what they have said and not said in regard to both drawers not operating simultaneously is deliberately misleading and as such illegal. I have been told that when they moved their factories from New Zealand to Thailand they left their integrity behind.
