Smelly CPAP – I am not sure of the exact model of my CPAP F &P machine as it isn't obvious. After returning my first F & P machine it was replaced as it had an odour very much like burning rubber. This was not good for me, considering I have been diagnosed as "chemically sensitive" !! The replacement has mould growing under the rubber, even although I wash it regularly and it emits a revolting smell, this just can't be healthy.

Does anyone else have a problem with smells omitting from their CPAP machines?

Good – Great machine - I highly recommend it. No problems with it whatsover. Reliable and easy use. Shop around - price varies considerably. The quietest CPAP machine I have come across. The humidifier water chambers are not cleanable therefore they must be recycled regularly. Tip: Use filtered or distilled water only in these chambers.

Excellent machine - very quiet – I have been using this fixed pressure machine for nearly three years. I love the heated tube which prevents excessive moisture reaching the mask. This machine automatically adjusts settings for height above sea level which is especially useful when traveling. It is quiet during use and does not disturb your partners sleep. It is recommended that de-mineralised water obtainable from large supermarkets is used in the chamber. The chambers should last at least nine months but I am on my second one as I dropped the first and broke it. The machine should be regularly wiped with a damp cloth and the air filter changed every month (although some users wash filters, dry and replace). In summary if the machine is used according to the manufacturer's instructions then the average CPAP user should be pleased with the features of this machine. Quiet, heated tube, reliable easy to operate and clean, comes with travel case. Machine is fairly large on the bedside table.

I bought a stainless steel chamber 3 years ago, after 3 aluminium ones. It is still spotless. I wipe it out once a month.

It comes with two water chambers. Good idea about the s/steel chamber and I will look into it.
