Shortly after the warranty expired problems began. Flimsy plastic parts of the racks broke, the rinse aid indicator fell out and the rinse aid function stopped working totally. The machine began to give error codes as the impeller refused to stay on the shaft until I drilled a small hole through it and permanently glued it with a loctite product.… Read more
Over time the machine began to be extremely noisy and eventually the pump failed totally. I would not recommend the product at all. Customer service simply did not want to know about it.
Inherited an old Fisher and Paykel drawer dishwasher when we purchased our apartment. It had done over 15 years of great service when it finally gave up the ghost. Bought a new replacement which is total garbage. The racks are flimsy and virtually useless. Plates which fitted with ease in the old machine don’t fit in the new one. Pots don’t fit… Read more
either, when the old one handles them with ease. Don’t buy this garbage. Wish we had gone with the Bosch. Never will bother with Fisher and Paykel again.
Dishwasher drawer – I have the dishwasher drawer & I have to agree it’s terrible, Is u only put a small about of items in it it’s fine but to do a normal wash it is a shocker no question.. I did email fisher & paykel but basically told to get lost .. Show details

I would suggest you never buy one – Worse applicable I have ever bought. Just wets dishes. Have tried rinsing before. Every wash has dirty dishes. Features and controls are easy and size convenience is good. This was the result showing dirty dishes at end of wash. Show details

Series 9 Dishdrawer Upgrade Wash kit In the first models – Series 9 Dishdrawers need to have WASH UPGRADE KIT If you own a early series 9 dishdrawer you more than likely have to purchase the WASH UPGRADE KIT to improve the machines dishwashing If your dishdrawer is not washing the dishes properly then you need to have a look at the wash spray arm that is under the dish rack and sits on top of the… Read more
motor rotor and sprays the water out If it only has 6 round holes 3 on either side then it needs to replaced with the wash upgrade kit . F & P subsidizes the Kit approx $70 Im not sure if they charge a fee to have it installed?, you would need to ask F&P Kit includes: Cover plate, Wash Spray arm 10 holes, Motor Controller
You can ring Fisher and Paykel and quote them your model number and product number and they will advise you if your machine needs a WASH UPGRADE KIT
Its not a hard job and takes between 30 mins and an hr to replace The following tools required Long nose pliers T10 screw driver (can purchase a cheap kit on ebay or aution site for $10 - 20
Also Finish is the best dishdrawer detergent and recomend not to use the ECO unless you have limited water supply Dishwashers need water to water to wash dishes
Love it! – I purchased this product nearly a year and a half ago and I am more than impressed with its looks and performance. I chose the 900mm Dishdrawer as it was the only one that was going to fit perfectly into the space I had without having to re-design my kitchen, which I am so glad I did. It fits a lot more in than I thought it would and I have never… Read more
had an issue with the dishes not cleaning properly even though I don't rinse them before putting them in. I love the fact that you don't have to bend down to fill and empty the dishwasher. Cleaning the machine is also really easy as you can see into it without having to get on the floor. Everyone that comes to my house loves the look of it and can't believe how big it is inside. It is very quite when in use and is a very easy machine to use - no complicated programming. I would and do highly recommend this product.
Very happy – This dish washer is great for a small family as you can just load one draw and wash those dishes. It always gets the dishes lean and dry and is simple to use and reasonably quiet on all settings. The only negative is it takes a bit longer to install. I would definitely recommend this product. Absolute rubbish – I thought Fisher & Paykel were top quality … I would never buy another one again. Absolute crap. At least half the dishes need to be washed by hand after going through eco mode. I rinse all dishes and clean the filter about every third wash which is ridiculous. It even has trouble with getting cereal off bowls! Do yourself a favour and don’t waste your money! Show details
New Model Isn't As Good As Old – Bought a single draw dishwasher DD60SCX9. Why change the old model? This new one, not near as strong in the motor. When I spoke to enquiry line, I was told to leave it on 'Heavy and Extra Dry' for ALL washes. WHY??????? When...1. This is not environmentally friendly. 2. Cost me, the pensioner and consumer more. 3. I've paid a good dollar for a… Read more
machine that can't do the job, and I'm not the only one to complain about this machine. If there was another option, no I wouldn't have bought this dishwasher, the only reason I did, I'd had a single draw dishwasher prior and happy with it, but no you couldn't leave things alone. *Clogs easy. Yes, I rinse my dishes. Still dishes come out dirty.
It's Just OK – Compared this to the Bosch single drawer dishwasher I had a few years back - can't get them anymore. F&P just don't compare. Very unforgiving re: stacking. Got to be exact or it doesn't get cleaned. Econo cycle is 263 minutes long!! What's economical about the energy your using? I've made more room by downsizing the cutlery basket. Nothing… Read more
cleans if you put it on the top flip down shelves - they are for rinsing only. Very average performance. Avoid - overpriced for what it is.

Rubbish – Very cheap baskets and internal fitments. Never washes properly on the longest wash cycle . Difficult to stack . Ridiculous control panel . Excessive duration of washing cycles . No provision for tablets , an afterthought to fit them on a small plastic try reducing the cutlery basket capacity . Programs that are unable to cope with stopping the… Read more

Design Flaw allows Cockroaches to enter into the washer – I can understand cockroaches congregate under and around a dishwasher but never inside the washer. A stand alone washer does not have this problem. The drawer dishwashers must have a design flaw to allow cockroaches to enter the washer. I am not the only one who has suffered this. It will be a lifelong problem. I have no other cockroach… Read more
infestation in the whole of my home. It is pristine. I was waiting on the phone for over 1 1/2 hours and finally got a human and she hung up on me. They wanted me to get a pest man in and then their service man at a cost of $240 just for the service. I would never buy a drawer dishwasher again. This was in the kitchen when we purchased the house. Purchasing this product from this company is too risky. Please read all of the reviews before you make your choice.
Steer clear!! – Waited 3 weeks for my new dish drawer to arrive to replace my 11 year old fisher paykel draw, (which was the best thing I'd ever owned until it started to leak) Had it professionally installed on the Friday to make sure everything was done correctly & didn't get to use it until Sunday. Went to empty it after the load was done & noticed the tablet… Read more
hadn't dissolved properly & the dishes felt slimy, so had to run it again on a longer cycle. Put it on again on Tuesday on the longer cycle straight up and realised it was taking a long time. It now has an F1 error with rinse flashing and it's a major malfunction as when you open the drawer and turn on the main power it's trying to work with the drawer open. This dishdrawer has been used once!! Am now waiting for a tech to come & check my brand new dishwasher. Not happy at all!!

Trouble from day one – We have 3 of these and would not reccommend you buy one. To load a whole load of dishes in and have to unload them dirty is unacceptable. Don't buy Show details
Inscrutable psychopathic machine which won't stop running long cycles completely unbidden – Every time I interact even vaguely with this thing, it ends up locking itself and running a cycle that goes for hours during which it will not stop, be turned off or allow itself to be opened, even if I was just putting in a single glass. Lack of buttons and display on the front means there is nothing to try beyond this fictitious idea that… Read more
knocking twice on the front panel will pause it. I am so sick of listening to it start up, knowing I will be hearing it for ages, and it is wasting water and adding to my energy bill for absolutely no reason. I am not tech illiterate, I have read the manual (difficult to locate, since at first it seems to be for other models) and I still cannot stop this thing from running EVERY single time I open and close it (I am not wildly pressing different buttons when I do this). Once again a 'simple' interface actually makes everything more difficult.
Absolute waste of time and money – This machine is a total disaster and total waste of money. If I put plastic lids on the cup racks, they fall off down the sides and into the wash arm, in the bottom of the dishwasher, and cause the entire wash to fail. The smallest things seem to deem the wash useless. Dishes can't even be close to each-other, let alone touching. I can only ever… Read more
put three dishes in the washer otherwise they definitely don't come up clean and even then often two of the three still have to be handwashed. Totally useless and very maddening!!! A bowl stops the water from reaching half of the machine. I got a technician to come and have a look as I was sure it had been installed incorrectly or there was a fault with the machine. There was nothing wrong, it just doesn't work! He told me to only ever use the 'Heavy' wash. I only ever use this wash now and it still does not work!! What a nightmare to have a new, expensive dishwasher that doesn't work. I sincerely hope this machine has been taken off the market because I can only assume there is a fault with it.
Not living up to it's predecessor – Apologies to the original author of the following, I stole it from another site but it reflects my sentiments exactly: Not living up to it's predecessor... I had to replace my old single F&P DishDrawer which finally stopped working after approx 13 years. It had been a great workhorse, very reliable, and rarely had a hiccup or needed service. replacement has not lived up to our expectations. The set-up of the dishwasher has changed - for the worse, so it isn't possible to fit anywhere near as much inside. If I put plastic lids on the cup racks, they fall off down the sides and into the wash arm, in the bottom of the dishwasher, and cause the entire wash to fail. The smallest things seem to deem the wash useless. Dishes can't even be close to each-other, let alone touching. And if one bowl isn't perfectly placed, it stops the water from reaching half of the machine. We are disappointed to say the least and I wish that I could replace it with a different appliance altogether. Unfortunately it's the only dishwasher that fits into my cabinetry space, so I'm stuck with it for now.
Doesn't clean dishes! Have to check dish for specks oF dirt. On now with customer service for over 2 hours!Shocking! – Don't buy this dishwasher. It's a waste of money. No after sales service. Faulty Product within 12 months. Still waiting for Warranty Service for almost 2 months. Little Response – Absolute dismal service. Had a less than 12 month dishwasher drawer (DD60SCW9)that stopped working. Took a while for a technician to come out in December 2019. No contact from Fisher and Paykel's technician. Dishwasher still not working as of today (Mid February 2020). Have been trying to get a response from Fisher and Paykel to what is happening… Read more
without success. On 10 January we were advised they were waiting on a part that was going to be received the following week. We have tried numerous times calling and emailing. No email replies by Fisher and Paykel. Been on hold for up to 40 minutes several times, but when I do get through I either get disconnected, or told they will investigate with Parts, and then never hear from them. I am reluctant to buy any Fisher and Paykel products in future. Had issues within 30 days with our front loading washing machine too. After sale service is appalling.
The worst possible review – It is a very poor performer and after having used many dishwashers I regard this as very bad indeed. The instruction guide was hopeless it was hard to read and useless. Dont buy the rubbish! Show details
The Owners Manual was very not easy to understand and useless troubleshooting. Try contacting the manufacturer and good luck there!
Our old one was better – The clips on the racks come off and are VERY hard to put back together. The spinner is always being stopped because the racks seem too close. The sloping plate racks make loading difficult. Show details

Now I wrote back in July “This is our first and last Fisher and Paykel purchase.” But using the dishwasher has softened the negativity of our experience. It really is a good appliance and we continue to also believe great design. However from our experience found the processes frustrating. The reality is if our dishwasher had not been mishandled in the warehouse we very well could have become loyal customers. If our experience is typical I would have to wonder how Fisher & Paykel stay in business. Our advice keep your fingers crossed that you don’t have any problems but at the same time if your dishwasher is defect free I would be confident that It would be five stars.

Don't buy a dishdrawer – Worst purchase when I renovated the kitchen last year. I have to inspect every dish and every piece of cutlery that comes out - there is ALWAYS something that is dirty. I am getting so frustrated with it. Hate hate hate it. Do not buy one. What's the point of using a dishwasher if you have to examine everything that's in it every time you empty it. So disappointed and so pissed off. Show details
Love it! – Our dishdrawers have been in for 6 months now and haven't skipped a beat. I have preset my top drawer for dishes and bottom drawer for pots and pans which my dishwasher knows without me pressing a button. I have a bit of OCD when it comes to dishwashers and do give everything a light rinse, however it probably doesn't need it. I did find that… Read more
using either Morning Fresh or Finish powder that there is a gross buildup in the bottom of the drawers and my glasswear is cloudy, but my machine seems to LOVE a little of the $3 Coles powder and rinse aid for a sparkling & dry wash everytime.
Fisher and Paykel crap – I have had 3 technicians out and charged 362.00 which will not be refunded. The developers have been silent on who installed the dishwasher. I’m over it I have asked f&p to collect the piece of junk. It just doesn’t work and I’m sick of the backwards and forwards. I paid a lot of money for my unit and I get this junk. Show details
WORKS WELL BUT IS VERY NOISY – I am happy with the dishwasher and also love that it has some many cycles to choose from the eco cycle is just under 40 minutes and I can get everything clean, however, it is quite unpleasant that the dishwasher is so noisy and cannot hear the TV and need to increase the volume. Other than the noise the dishwasher worked well. Show details
Great small machine with eco options – Having decided to get a small dishwasher in my own place having stayed in a couple of airbnb places recently, this is the quietest machine I have used. With Quick cycle, with eco options, that still clean and dry immaculately it gives me all I was looking for. We are a couple only who use it every day and it suits our needs perfectly. Top that off with running it early in the day with or solar inputs and it is more than efficient for us. Show details
Ideal for a compact kitchen – I have used Fisher and Paykel for close to 4 years now.. work well, based on the load, you can choose different load options.needs a bit of clean every month, for which i use a cleaner and run it for a full cycle. Its a bit small for a big kitchen but works well with a small family Show details
Carnt do with out" Henry" the best – Its very quiet .Cleans dishes really well no rinsing first. Perfect fit for my kitchen .Room for six place setting all up. Easy enough for my grandchildren to load. Easy to install Well worth the money would even recommend it to my friends . Very pleased with the product . Show details
This is my fourth set of dishdrawers! – With just 2 of us in the house the dish drawer size is perfect. And my first 3 sets were perfect. The first 2 were replaced because we moved house. The third set (10 years old) has just been replaced because we went from white to stainless. This new set however has one major problem - it doesn’t fit my dinner plates. They are 290cm in… Read more
diameter which is pretty standard and they fitted perfectly in my last model. The only way to fit them in is on an angle backwards which doesn’t allow much space for other smaller plates and bowls. So if you’re going to buy this model and you love your plates measure them first or take one to the show room to try it out. I also thing the cutlery caddy in the old model was much better - it’s fiddly getting cutlery into the tight spaces.
It is quiet and it cleans just as well as my first models but now that my plates don’t fit I wish I had my old one back or maybe went for a full dishwasher model - but that just defeats the purpose of the double dish drawers which allow one to be washing while another starts filling.
So F and P can you rethink the basket design and when you come up with one as good as the earlier models please send me a couple. Until then I’ll be washing the plates in the sink!
Great Product – Our second dish draw, the first one purchased 2003,and was used almost every day. This one our second and with extra functions, runs quiet extra drying time if required, and with the adjustable shelves to put those taller cups in, and the glasses sparkle when thy come out, we just love our dish draw and would recommend it. Worse appliance i have ever bought – Doesn't clean well. Every load something is not clean no matter how i stack and it's never overloaded. It is quiet though but wish i hadn't bought it. I usually always buy fisher and paykel products. Tech came out and said not to use tablets nor rinse aid. Use powder but still not good. Show details
Great – I love dishdrawer as they are great on space and quiet. They was the dishes well and are perfect for a couple, however when you have more people over you find yourself needing to do more than one load as they capacity just isn't there for a larger amount of dishes. It drys the dishes well and I would get another one when the time is right to replace it. Show details
This will be my last FP dish drawer – The 3rd in 11 years because my home came with one and it just seemed easier to replace with next FP dish drawer model rather than reconfigure my kitchen. They guy who did… Read more
the change over on mine said that it was his 3rd FP dish drawer that day and all were under 3 years old.
Forget about doing plastics or more delicate items in the FP dishdrawer, eco cycles or a fast wash. Ive had this only for a month and despite filters being cleaned every couple of days it simply doesn't clean or dry unless it's on the Heavy Wash with no eco setting. Its not little spots, it's whole bowls and plates that barley look like they have even been rinsed and appears to have no assisted drying at all. My dishwasher is never over packed and always has plenty of space between items to clean. At least my last dish drawers where good till they weren't for a year or two before struggling to do a decent wash cycle and start throwing out all the other problems typical with these FP dish drawers.
Its only saving features is that this one actually does (only just) take larger dinner plates in the vertical stack on one side. This one is also the nicest looking in my kitchen but of course that means you sacrifice a digital display telling you how long it has to go or showing the time delay, you can still use those functions but you will need to keep a manual record in your head of what it is. Not really acceptable in this day and age, stainless steel good looking appliances everywhere at much lower price points have easily integrated this and from all reports seem to be more reliable.
Overpriced and average which is a shame since the idea of it is so genious. I guess FP have maintained returned customers like myself because their kitchens are modelled around having this dish drawer and they don't want the hassle of reconfiguration but now that others are bringing out dish drawers or know people with other models who get 10 years trouble free, I think their run in relying on this instead of really developing and improving their product is over. It certainly is for me - a bit of minor cabinetry adjustment will be far less hassle than buying another of these.
Not a good feeling spending this type of money only to resolve to put up with it till the warranty runs out with its replacement already picked out only a month after purchase. At least the long heavy wash seems to do the job it needs to do *sigh*
bad dishdrawer – Our dishdrawer has a very long cycle but does not clean our dishes. Also it does not fit our plates.
