I wouldn't bother booking with Flixbus because they don't offer cash refunds if you have something personal arise in your life and have to cancel your trip. If you cancel the only option they offer is a ridiculous voucher to use their service again. They'll only do a cash refund if they themselves cancel on you. An absolute stupid policy, to… Read more
punish your customers for cancelling when something serious happens in their life. I won't ever be using Flixbus again. I have wasted $70 on tickets with them and now only have them as a voucher, which I will not be using anyway. 0 stars for Flixbus.
You need to learn how to respect your customers, especially your passengers. I’ve taken two overnight trips, and both times the drivers were constantly making noise at 2–3 a.m. over the radio and speakers. Even when other passengers were being loud, the drivers simply ignored it. I’m very disappointed with the way this service is managed.
We just arrived today in Melbourne. We ride the Flixbus. I would like to thank Flixbus specially the driver Anthony. He is really cool, kind, nice guy and very accommodating. He always reminds his passenger to wear seat belts and very careful when driving.

Disappointing driver communication from Jindabyne to Sydney Scheduled to arrive in Sydney by 11pm, but driver [Name Removed] announced 11:30pm early on. When politely questioned, he denied 11pm was ever the scheduled time and was passive aggressive about it. Longer than needed rest stops added further delays, and we arrived 50 minutes late… Read more
overall.
I understand delays happen for safety reasons and that’s fine. But refusing to acknowledge the actual timetable and being rude about it when asked was unprofessional. A simple acknowledgment would have been all it took.
recently travelled with FlixBus from Melbourne back home to Sydney, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. A special thank you to our drivers, Anthony and Shane, who were both professional, friendly, and made the journey comfortable from start to finish. They kept everyone informed throughout the trip, drove safely, and made the long… Read more
journey feel smooth and stress-free.
The bus was comfortable, the trip was well organised, and everything ran on time. It’s always great to travel with drivers who genuinely care about their passengers and take pride in their work.
Thank you, Anthony and Shane, for making the trip such an enjoyable experience. I would happily travel with FlixBus again and highly recommend it to anyone travelling between Melbourne and Sydney. Hopefully next time a green bus

These busses highly lack cleanliness. Not sure why Noone is mentioning the cockroaches on board and I think its because they hide in the dark. At first I thought it was just the one bus but the bus on the way back was worse. I kept my light on the whole way to keep the bugs away and sat between the two seats because they are literally hiding along… Read more
the window walls. Seats are comfy, leg room is fine, bus drivers are also good, but absolutely filthy busses. Keeping the light on also showed me how dusty the bus was, the dust particles were endless.
I booked a bus from Melbourne to Canberra, I had never used Flixbus before, but the departure time seemed OK. The train was going to take a bit longer so I chose them. The bus was supposed to leave at 9 to arrive in Canberra at 16.35. So I get to the station around 8.30. As 9.00 approaches I see no bus coming to the terminal. Then it gets to 9.00,… Read more
9.10, no bus on sight. The other passengers waiting are equally confused. At one point I decide to contact their team, only to realise they do not have a phone number and you can only use a messaging chat. I've learned this is never a good sign when a company does not have an actual telephone number. The hapless online team member is useless and just apologises and says to try back in 15 minutes, that then they'll get an update. So I try 15 minutes later and the same useless answer, "we do not know what is happening". Are you for real? Their tracking system is also useless, it does not have any updates, it just says "scheduled" and nothing else. All the other passengers are equally frustrated. Around 10.30 I get a confusing text message saying the bus is delayed by 165 minutes. So I check other alternatives and there really isn't anything for that day. There is a train in the evening that arrives at Canberra at 8.00 am the following day, which is not useful if I need to start work on Monday. And last minute flights are selling from $500 upwards. When I finally log again to track their bus now there is an updated arrival time of 11.45. So I head back to the station with my luggage and hoping it will get there then. No such luck, by the time the bus arrives it is 12.10. The driver gave no explanation or anything other than a quick meek apology "sorry for being late". By the time the bus finally leaves the station is 12.20. This is completely unacceptable. I have used buses and trains not only in Australia but all over the world and have never experienced anything like this. Even when there have been delays, there was still some explanation or someone tried to fix the situation. 3 hours 20 minutes late is just not acceptable and completely unprofessional. Lucky this was just a Sunday and I did not have any further commitments that day. The expected arrival time in Canberra was supposed to be 16.35. By the time the bus got there it was 20.10. What a joke. I just cannot understand how this company operates. But by reading the other reviews I can see my case is not an exception. Needless to say this is the first and last time I will use them. I will stick to Murrays/Greyhound and CountryLink for future road travel.
Catch the bus from Melbourne Southern Cross Station to Canberra with FlixBus for a great way to experience Australia. The driver, Anthony, was very presentable, professional, and right on time. Before boarding, he made clear announcements so passengers knew exactly where the coach was heading and where luggage needed to go, especially for those… Read more
continuing to Sydney Airport.
The bus was spotless and very comfortable. Since it was a late-night trip, Anthony also let passengers know to grab food before departure because most places at the first stop would be closed, which was very helpful.
Throughout the journey, he continued making announcements and keeping everyone informed, making the trip smooth and pleasant. If you’re not in a rush and want to enjoy seeing more of Australia, this is a great way to travel. The buses are also brand new and very comfortable.
Trip from Canberra to Sydney was fine, bus was a new Chinese brand, driver professional no issues. Prime drop off location at Central Station. Return trip was however not pleasant, bus was old and seats had significant safety issue. The rear seat trays had been removed, but two metal spikes protruding from where seat try had been. This was on… Read more
multiple seats backs, some had been removed, but majority had these protruding metal spikes. A female passenger in front of me unbeknownst to her of the seat issue, reclined her seat and one of the metal prongs pierced my knee cap. Luckily I had first aid kit myself and was able to stop the blood spurting out of my knee cap. I raised the issue with driver at the end of the trip, he was just bemused and dismissive. Raised the issue with FlixBus as a complaint, and after three weeks of no reply. I raised the issue again as a complaint. I then contacted Flixbus through their online AI chatbot and after few minutes was put through to a human. She looked up my previous complaint and informed me that Flixbus had already replied to me. This was a lie as no email had been received. I asked for a copy of email and instead was given a reply that said your complaint has been forwarded onto another team. I asked for dates this was sent and the chat was immediately ended. Still no reply from FlexBus a month later. I wasn't expecting much other than an apology and an endeavour to have this safety issued rectified. But not even that, nothing. I'll stick to Murrays Bus or the snail train next time. So they have lost me as a ongoing customer.
Was sceduled to take the bus from Noosa to Airlie beach. But only a bus with the direction of Brisbane marked on the front showed up, after I asked the busdriver the direction of the bus he told me "its on the front". Afterwards this did appear to be our bus heading towards Cairns. Spend $300 for a taxi in order to catch the bus down a few stops later as we had a funeral to attend. Customer service wont reimburse anything.

Toilet bowl on bus was full and light broken in toilet - so it was pitch black, dangerous and it stunk. Terrible customer service when I raised this issue. Clearly AI and no care whatsoever.
Follow-up · I was very unhappy with the follow up. I clearly should have been refunded my bus fare, at the minimum. I did not receive the service I paid for and the failure caused me pain and serious inconvenience.
First red flag was that the bus was 30 minutes late to our starting departure time. When we got on, there were no tray tables, phone chargers and there was rubbish under the seats. Bus was freezing cold too and there was no heat. Absolutely miserably experience and I will never book with them again.
Follow-up · The seating was hard and comfortable I didn't check the toilets because the bus was freezing and I was trying to preserve what little warmth I could get from my jacket No stops but the bus was delayed massively.

Be careful when booking. I made a mistake and was charged $10 when booking. Murray's is free to change (provided you do it in enough time as the busses are always booked out) I will never use Flex again. Judging by these reviews I am anxious now.
Follow-up · What booking changes were needed? I already answered this How was $10 charged? Through the “refund” What was the mistake? I dud t know the bus went to Sydney airport only. It did not warn me while booking.

I had a great trip with FlixBus AU100 recently! A special shout-out to our driver, who was extremely professional, polite, and drove smoothly and safely the entire way. They kept us updated on schedules, handled the luggage efficiently, and made the whole journey comfortable and stress-free. Excellent service!
The price is affordable and usually cheaper than air flights. One can assume you can use the toilet while the bus is moving. Travelling from Sydney to Melbourne can be little rocky and while the stopovers for toilet or smoko breaks are great, I think consideration there should be in place for passengers who are happy to not have bright lights… Read more

Improvements: - not quite flixbus authority, but a real time information booth to notify oncoming passengers which bay to expect the bus. Some bus bays are long and the bus could be missed. Also, as a passenger that doesn't want to be rerouted to the wrong destination, it's little hassle to communicate with strangers to ask if you're at the right location. - courtesy reminder for passengers to consider other passenger's comfort. I had some passengers who continuously made comments that was inconsiderate both in content and during the times when the bus lights were off (during travel at night). - if passengers during the day want to connect with other travellers, perhaps have some kind of game or regrouping of passenger seats so these passengers can connect to like minded passengers.
Worthwhile to keep (ie do not change) - how considerate and pleasant the drivers are to passengers. -notification or warning of stopovers
One star left, because it wasn't the the best experience. Definitely, deserved more than a passing stars feedback.
I had a very positive experience with FlixBus Australia’s customer service. My request was handled quickly and without any hassle, and the staff was genuinely friendly and helpful throughout the process. I really appreciated the fast response time and the fact that they focused on finding a solution instead of making things complicated. Overall,… Read more

They cancelled my bus trip from Brisbane to Byron Bay on the 21/8/2026 with no real explanation and with only 2 hours prior to departure. I had to buy another bus trip which cost double, as I was not able to buy an early ticket and had to buy one at the last minute. Flixbus is a horrible organization - do not waste your time or money.
I arrived at the airport at approximately 2:30 PM, well before my scheduled departure, specifically because I could not afford to miss this bus. I had checked the boarding location carefully and asked several airport employees for confirmation, including the staff at the Information Desk. I was directed to the area where the buses depart, and I… Read more
remained there waiting for my FlixBus.
When the bus arrived, I was literally standing directly in front of it, near the door, together with other people who were also waiting in the area. The bus stopped for an extremely short period of time — I would estimate less than 30 seconds. The driver did not get out, did not open the luggage compartment, and I did not see any boarding process taking place.
I remained there waiting because I reasonably expected the driver to open the doors and begin boarding. Everything happened extremely quickly. I was standing directly in front of the bus and was clearly visible.
The bus then began to leave.
At that point, I immediately started shouting that I was a passenger on that bus and that I needed to board. I was literally in front of the vehicle. There were other people around me, as well as airport staff, who witnessed what happened.
I also understand that Gold Coast Airport has CCTV cameras covering the relevant area, which can verify that I was present at the designated pickup point and standing directly in front of the bus when it departed. I therefore request that these CCTV recordings be reviewed as part of your investigation.
I immediately ran back inside the airport and went to the Information Desk. I asked the staff member to contact FlixBus because I had just been left behind. She attempted to find a telephone number or someone who could assist, but there was apparently no telephone contact available.
We then tried to contact FlixBus through the online chat.
I spent approximately THREE HOURS attempting to obtain assistance through the chat. The chat repeatedly disconnected, forcing me to start the conversation again, and I was unable to obtain any meaningful assistance or resolution. I have screenshots documenting these attempts and the repeated failures of the customer service system.
This made an already serious situation considerably worse.
I am travelling alone, I live in Sydney, and I had no accommodation in the Gold Coast. I purchased a FlixBus ticket specifically because I did not have the financial means to simply purchase an expensive last-minute flight.
Because your bus left without allowing me to board, I was forced to remain at the airport for many hours and urgently contact people I know in the Gold Coast to ask if I could stay with them. This was extremely stressful, embarrassing and humiliating.
I subsequently had no choice but to purchase a flight for the following day, at a significantly higher cost than the bus ticket. I also incurred additional transportation costs, including an Uber, which at that time was more expensive than the original bus fare.
I also had to leave personal belongings behind at the airport, including my blanket, because of the circumstances and the rush to find somewhere to stay.
The financial consequences are therefore considerably greater than the price of the original bus ticket.
This was not a situation where I simply arrived late or failed to find the bus. I arrived early, confirmed the correct location with airport staff, remained at the designated departure area, and was physically standing in front of the bus when it departed.

massive penalty fee (up to 80% of the ticket cost if it's close to departure) and only give you a partial refund in the form of a voucher—not cash. For anyone traveling between Canberra and Sydney Airport, stick to Murrays Coaches. Murrays is a local institution, highly reliable, and far more accommodating if you need to alter your booking. FlixBus's fee structure feels incredibly scammy. Save yourself the stress and the hidden fees!

Bus was cancelled at last 20 min ?!! Had to book greyhound where there was no assigned seat and had to change my seat every stop which was annoying . No phone numbers to contact, talking with ai and waiting for agent takes forever. And my bus is late 14/07/2026, people here have no clue their bus is running 1 hour late no message no email
Flix bus Sydney to Melbourne. Not impressed with this service .diversion to Canberra is in small click icon.Arrives Canberra 2.45 am customer is expected to wait outside locked cafe venue.in very bleak Canberra cold. I strongly advise DO NOT Book this trip if MELBOURNE is your destination. Lastly my ticket was 7C but seats on the bus were not numbered
My experience with FlixBus has been extremely disappointing. rescheduled time and cancelled the booking, FlixBus refused to provide a refund, even though the change was initiated by them, not by me. Customer service has been slow and unhelpful, and resolving issues takes far too long. Customers should not be penalized when a company changes the service they originally booked. Based on my experience, I would not recommend FlixBus. They need to improve their booking practices, customer communication, and refund policies.
Horrible service, the price they advertise to attract attention but its dynamic pricing so on the price range Murray have far better sitting and comfort, They also add $3 as a seat booking fee on top of the booking, which i found strange. bus they used is not even FLIX bus, its just some smelly random coach which they outsourced externally, and obviously no on board wifi, which they advertise so broadly.
Be prepared to have your advanced booking cancelled at very short notice potentially leaving you stranded. I would suggest an alternative or have a back up plan for when flixbus cancel your booking for no good reason.
Arrive late for 1.30hr from Canberra to Sydney international airport. Bus should leave at 3am and the (subcontract) bus came at 3.50am. Unhappy with this delay. I
The worst service ever. The bus was cancelled without any notice. I paid $189 for me and my husband. Had to take another bus from another bus company. Tried to reach out to them for the refund, got delayed response and still not accepting to pay refund. This company is a scam.I don’t recommend this service at all to anyone.
Got totally scamed by flixbus, they cancelled my trip and promised a total refund of the ticket price to replace my trip and they did not honored their promised, lost $15 because these idiots made a bungle with their email and payment method. Horrible experience, I do not recommend travelling with FlixBus, big scam, empty promises!
It is so bad, my request lodged 12 days ago still no response, reached out to their social media, I did not leave a bad review yet, but got pushed back, they should be out of Australian market instead of taking customers money free everytime for small amount of money for every booking , and you could not even use the vouchers.
