FreeStyle Libre Sensor Questions & Answers
Rutledge Use the product with great concern when travelling there is no support outside Canada, this includes buying sensors locally, Your Apps or readers don’t work as well. this is forbadden from Abbott FreeStyle themselves, I just got of the phone for the third time at 16$ a shot just to have the same answer again. This is a problematic as now you have to take alternate means as well in case this product fails again, Personally when I return I’m going to have the conversation with my Health Team as multiple calls has only reinforcement of thier policy which I got to pay for as well now, finding myself $300.00 out of pocket and unable to monitor my levels for the next two weeks, I feel compelled to thoroughly reassess this product. While it undeniably functions effectively, the abrupt failure of $300.00 worth of sensors within 24 hours renders it impractical. If you're considering this product, especially for travel purposes, I advise against relying on it until the sensor issue is resolved. Additionally, don't solely rely on the manufacturer's guidance regarding its use, as it lacks specific instructions for travel scenarios. Use this product with caution
In attempting to instal a new libre 2 sensor, the pin dislodged and the installation failed. I have been using this product for years so I know how to use it. How do I report this to Abbott as I would like a replacement.
Has anyone else had an unsightly sore, pimple like lump after removing the sensor pad?
Yes, have scars from where they have been!
Health care card how do o get the sensor free
I have been using Free Libre Sensor for more than 2 yrs. I have recently lost 25 kg weight. Since last two weeks, I noticed a very high increase in my blood sugar lever, about 30%.
After lots of examinations, I found that my skins have been loose and the sensor was giving wrong and incorrect figures. I tried a new sensor last night on my right arm. I am receiving now the following messages:
"""""""""" Check Sensor
Please check your Sensor. If it is loose from your skin, please remove the Sensor and start a new one. If it is applied properly, try starting Sensor again. """""
I have destroyed two costly sensors. My skins on my arms are loose Please let me know where should put and insert the new Sensor!
with best regards Mohammad
Mohammad, being a somewhat unusual question, I think you'd best talk directly to your doctor or to a FreeStyle Libre rep:(https://www.freestylelibre.com.au/contact-us)
Good luck!
I'm sitting in my home in Sydney, yesterday implanted a newly purchased sensor on my arm. now trying to download the freestyle librelink app to my '1+5' phone. why do I get "this link directs you to a site outside Australia" and it refuses to download!
Why are there so, so many very bad reviews for this product. I will not purchase one based on the information provided by so many people.
Don't give up on them. They are expensive but so much more convenient and less messy than constant finger pricking to extract blood.
Yes, it is convenient, but, grossly inaccurate and fails to serve the intended purpose. You cannot use this to make diagnostic/treatment decisions. The only potential use is to make dietary modifications based a trend of readings relative to the strip-based approach. However, based on extensive use, I would recommend not to use it at this time. Perhaps, Abbot is working on new releases of this product. I do not appreciate the strong-arm tactics of Abbot and they have lost me as a customer for good.
Is there a limit to how often you can check your blood sugar levels per day?
I've read the sensor has an internal update rate of 15 minutes. Extraploate from that, to get nearly 100 tests per day. However, please note this is not required, because the sensor keeps the past 8 hours stored before being uploaded to the reader (or NFC capable phone). So you only need to update 4-5 times a day to get the entire stored readings on the reader (or phone).
