Excellent Printer in Every Respect. Top Quality Output, Full Featured, Simple Setup and Very Reliable – These little machines are quality built, durable, have excellent print quality - way above the expectation for the purchase price, and are incredibly easy to set up and operate. They do flawless double sided printing, but sadly cannot do double sided scanning. The only down sides are the relatively low print speed - important only with long… Read more

print runs of course, and as with all Fuji/Xerox products, the cost of spare parts and consumables is way to high - about double most comparable brands. The good news though is that generic toners from reputable sources can be used and will yield the same print quality and will NOT shorten the working life of the printer at all - despite Xerox's claims to the contrary :o)

Lots of problems from beginning drum stops at 20000 copies need to buy new one at $350 – had probems installing then after a while would not do double sided then at 20000 the drum stopped obviously preprogrammed. will not scan or do anything now will never buy a fuji again Show details

Terrible!!!!! Only prints single one-sided – In order to get a double sided page printed you have to print event pages first, flip, and then print odds. Can you imagine printing several documents of 20 pages.... My god what a nightmare...don't waste your money! This is a feature that is so necessary that I can't imagine why they chose not to include it.  Show details

Not bad excellent print, genuine cartridges are so expensive – Print quality is excellent, prices for replacement toners genuine are over the top rediculous, so I am trying a generic brand which was a tenth of genuine price. Can't say that I have had any jams, but got 3000 prints from the first lot of toner. I only got this printer as it was highly reduced price, ie cheaper than getting new ink for my other… Read more

A cheap, good option for laser printing – We purchased this laser printer as we'd been printing a lot of documents and were going through a lot of ink. After reviewing various laser printers, this seemed to tick a lot of the boxes and was well priced. We've found it to be a great purchase, as it's excelled at printing documents quickly, including in duplex printing mode. The use of colour… Read more

printing has been minimal, but it's acceptable for non-commercial use. The printer is quite noisy, but we have not had many errors or issues in our use. I would recommend it.

Nearly an excellent product – I have now owned three of this model Xerox Printers and overall give it an near excellent rating. Highly reliable, great quality, but, my goodness, installing the print and scanner drivers is just soooooo difficult! Very clunky software that makes it feel as though you are trying to squeeze a rock into a hard place! I have used HP's and Canon's,… Read more

Unless your an IT expert don’t even consider it – I purchased this machine a while back but wanted to write a review about it. The print quality was excellent as you would expect from Fuiji. The setting up, the wireless, the scanning, faxing were very difficult a representative from Fuji had to come over 3 times for problems we had. To set up if you were not an IT background is way too hard. Too… Read more

Slow as a wet weekend. Not recomended – Bought it 2 years ago. Hates Windows 10. Quality is good once it begins to print. Main problem is that it takes for ever to process each page, so I only use it when I have to print specifically in colour. Has all sorts of configuration issues. Decides to print reports in the middle of a job consuming my expensive special paper. Tried to reset… Read more

Very Very Bad – Bit mistake getting this printer. I thought it would be a good investment. But unfortunately it has so many strange bugs it is impossible to use in my business. There are constantly problems with printing and it is always requesting i reload a4 or it only detects envelopes? Big waste of money - please save yourself the hassle. I have a mac, not sure if this is related.  Show details

Reasonable performance and functionality – The functionality of this printer has been pretty good. The quality of the printing and scanning is good. I use Linux and did not even need to install a driver, just used automatic network detection. portal to manage the network settings. The reliability of this machine is not so great. I occasionally get error codes and need to hard power off the unit to clear them. I am worried it will die soon and will be uneconomical to repair. But it is far from a disaster and you could do worse. I would consider buying Fuji Xerox again - but have a lot more questions prior to purchase now.

Constant toner cartridge problems – If you read the review by Rob S, you would be reading mine. I've had the machine for about 15 months and have had to replace cartridges several times. after trading in the cartridge for a new one, it simply reads "please insert cartridge" (it's already been inserted) and doesn't allow you to do anything else. No printing, no alternative fixes to the cartridge, nothing, nada, zip.

And, don't even get me started about having to print in a hurry...

Take my advice and buy a different -- non Fuji Xerox -- machine.

Great all round printer – I've had this printer for almost 2 years now and its been great! I've had no major issues, and it does what I need it to do - but nothing more. The most problematic printer especially when you are in a hurry – Constantly encounter printing error, without telling you what the problem is. toner costs well over $140 a bottle, why not buy the $15 ebay compatible toner).

After being told to clean the optics myself I realise the machine is badly designed and sucks the loose toner over the optics/mirrors with the cooling fan. New laser from the factory is $400.... For a $350 printer from office works.

In the process, to access the optics I had to remove 3 lenses and that knocked the colour registration out so photo prints are now 3D looking.

The moral of the story. Buy a LED based printer. The leds act directly on the drums instead of passing over multiple lenses and mirrors like laser printers do. Something that once dirty will mess up your prints.

Not as economical as expected – I recently purchased this printer as the Office Works sales person assured me a laser printer would be much more economical. I have already gone the the black cartridge and I definitely didn't print 1400 - 2000 pages yet, as I have gone through a 500 pack of paper! I went down to OW to purchase a toner cartridge $122! Dosn't appear very economical at this stage. Any one else experienced this? Maybe I need to change my print quality?

Overall the only disappointment is the increased cost of toner over the years: set of 4 cost $458 in Nov 13, $581 in Sep 15 and $662 in Apr 16. I have found another supplier and next set will be just over $600. But the rate of price increase is unacceptable. I may try generic toner soon.

Get what you pay for I guess – I bought this primarily as a scanner but then found I had misread the specs (not their fault). It does not do duplex (double sided) scanning. (SMB or FTP) was the main reason for buying this as it means anyone in the office can get a scan job done even if they don't have a PC nearby that they can login on.

Another thing it won't do is searchable PDF. Considering my $200 Canon ink jet will OCR the scans (duplexed) this was a bit disappointing but then I've seen $5000 copiers that won't OCR either.

On the whole I'm disappointed and will see if I can send it back as I haven't even used the print function yet. looks like I'll have to spend around $1500 to get one with a duplex scanner. Maybe I'll just get a standalone duplex scanner network scanner.

PRINTER GREAT - FUJI XEROX SUPPORT HOPELESS – I purchased this printer 2 years ago and other than the original toner cartridges that came with the printer I have always used generic toner cartridges because of the costs difference. searched the web and found that the error message related to the magenta toner cartridge. I replaced the cartridge only to be faced with another error message to replace the toner cartridge. I ordered a new toner cartridge (generic) but the message would not go. I contacted Fuji Xerox the following day and a day later a techinician contacted me. Upon explaining the situation he told me the problem was with the generaic cartridges instead of using original cartridges. I told him that can't be the case since I have been using them since I had the printer and my warranty is not void becuase of this issue. 10 days later, despite a number of calls to Fuji Xerox, a technician arrived on my doorstep without warning. He checked the printer and came up with the same excuse. He then told me he would send a report back to Fuji and see what they say and when asked how long this would take and he couldn't answer. The printer has worked fine up until now. And when you're looking for support from a well known company you get nothing in return. Goodbye Fuji Xerox your customer service is crap. I'm going back to Epson.

Do not buy this printer – Original cartridges are EXTREMELY expensive, problems with setting, difficult to set up IP address, technical support doesn't work on Saturdays and Sundays. During 2.5 months, I was not able to use it for 4 weeds due to different problems. After 2.5 months of usage (actually just 1.5 month) and printing only 2000 pages, I am forced to buy another one (fuji-xerox refuse to help because I use third part cartridges; they want me to buy original cartridges which is more expensive than printger itself). In last 20 years I had/have 6 printers (Canon, Epson, Borther, Samsung). I always used third party cartridges and NEVER had any problem till I start using Fuji-Xerox CM305-DF. So, my advice is: DONT BUY THIS PRINTER!!!

Update:

I would add some clarification about the technical support. In my previous review, (my comment that technicians are "unprofessional") I was referring to the technician who was in my place to fix the problem with jammed paper. He was too rough and broke the fuser unit and put the blame on the third party cartridge. He came once more (when I had another problem; the text was light grey but the images were OK). He pulled the cartridge, didn't put it back properly in place and tried to close the cover by force. If my doughtier hadn't stopped him and put the cartridge back in properly, he would have broken another part - and of course, it would be the fault of the "third party cartridge". So, the next time I had a problem, I specifically demanded that particular technician not come.

My experience with technicians that help you by telephone is good. If you get lucky to get them, they are very helpful. On two occasions, they stayed with me till late (after their official working time) and helped till the problems were solved. Prints are good (when it works), technicians that help you by telephone are very helpful. cartridges expensive, technical support not available during weekend, technicians unproffesional

Cheap, Dependable Business Class MFP – Our business startup had been through 3 other models from various vendors before this one, all of the "small business" or "home office" type between $200 and $300. All of these had quirks and issues in printing to various formats as required, the main issue being envelopes and A5 Flyers. When returning the previous HP OfficeJet we decided we… Read more

needed to invest slightly more as clearly the range we were using, despite for only 2 staff, were not cutting it.

Of the range of printers at our local OfficeWorks based on experience we decided on Fuji Xerox as they are heavily involved in Print Management and Support throughout Australia. We chose the DocuPrint CM305 df as this is a model Fuji Xerox supply to customers under agreement and we knew it is a business grade model with business grade options.

Getting the Printer into a Golf proved a real challenge I'm sure anyone in the car park would have had a great laugh at - in the end removing it from the box was the only option!

Now with the new CM305 df we're not having the ongoing print issues or the administrative time dealing with them, we're not sorting out prints to get the misprints and blanks out, we're not wasting our money on ink and toner for ruined prints and we're not stressing when we have deadlines on getting printing completed.

The print quality is good, nothing special but for a small business printer it's more than what's required. We're printing colour flyers and out of thousands so far we've had a handful of prints with issues such as too much toner/caked toner crumbling away on some prints and missed spots on some images. The scanning and such works fine to a network directory.

Being a business device you also get advanced features such as Active Directory integration so you can scan to any company recipients email via search - We LOVE this feature for businesses and you should investigate this option if you buy a Fuji Xerox.

It's a large upfront cost for a small business for this model, but to get an equivalent level of service from a HP or Brother would require a cost of over $1000 and you'll get worse support. After the ongoing issues we had with other models our company has made a decision to only supply Fuji Xerox printers to our customers from now on - that's how happy we are. Cheap for it's features, Reliable, Quality Printing Doesn't print double sided to A5, Large upfront cost for device and toner.
