Fuji Xerox WorkCentre 3210 / 3220

Bad – More trouble than it was worth. Have persisted with it because of speed factors but am about to call it quits and switch back to HP. Printing, copying and scanning functions are fast. Experiencing repeated network connections problems even with fixed IP address. When using manual feeder, paper is being picked up from paper tray below, causing jams. When using high yield (5000 copies) genuine toner cartridge, started getting toner low messages at 2000 copies, followed by toner empty and then toner exhausted at around 2800 copies. It will not print or copy using that cartridge even though the ink quality is as good as new. What's the point in selling high yield cartridges if the unit won't accept them? Finally, customer support is very slow to respond.
Terrible – Overall, I could give a five starts award for its features based on its specifications. But one serious flaw throw it off, PostScript emulation? Why does a single feature, PostScript emulation, cause such a serious issue? When one buys a PostScript printer, one generally knows the power of PostScript. Graphics professionals cannot do without PostScript seriously. The wonders of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, QuarkXPress, and colour publishing are the essentials that PostScript truly supports.
One near acid-test for PostScript is to embedded a .eps file into a document to print. This is quite often done with print publishing. Eg: a scalable graphic logo with its Pantone color, or a page-layout page display a past issue front-cover page within its advertisement, are two instances whereby you need a PostScript.
As for Xerox WorkCentre 3220 that I had tested within Xerox head office and its authorise centre, both of these failed to print correctly. Instead, half-tone dots were printed in place of a smooth gradient line-art. The problem is further aggravated when its staff support is poor.
So hold on to this and wait for Xerox to rectify or make amends before you purchase. Or as replied by a sales manager who said that unless you are ready to accept "As-is" (just like the Ikea sales corner for faulty products).
If Xerox corrects this issue and its service support staff, I believe this would beat the competitive MFP B&W laser printers hands-down. Promised specifications is excellent. Auto duplex. PostScript emulation, USB thumb drive support, etc. PostScipt Emulation?
