Excellent GPS watch for running and riding – I've had this watch for about 1.5 years now and it's been great as I take it on all my runs and rides. The best part about it is the ability to customise the information shown on the screen and have up to 4 screens which you can choose to scroll through or change manually i.e. on one screen have min per km on the large digits, HR and time on the… Read more

minor digits on one screen.

The only thing I have found is it sometimes takes 1-3mins to gain a GPS lock, especially in cloudy weather. And they do not recommend to use it for swimming due to the constant pressure hitting the water (?!).

Overall, I am very happy with it and feel lost running without it. Customisable screens, lightweight, connects to HR monitor easily, battery life Sometimes slow to lock on GPS position

Excellent – Excellent product - highly recommended I bought this garmin, actually my husband bought it for me, to accurately measure distances that I run and trek over. Has been a great motivation aid in my running. Affordable garmin for recording distance, pace & time. Easy to use, has several display options, which can be tailored to suit your training… Read more

needs. Can be used with or without the heart rate monitor to ensure you are getting the most out of your training.

Distance measurement is very accurate, if correctly calibrated to your stride.

Training reports displayed online, so you are able to compare speed/pace over your regular runs.

Garmin have an online training page into which you import your data from the watch to form a training log. Great for reviewing your training and recording personal bests! No dislikes!

Great training tool – I feel lost without it - it is great to know the distance I have run and get the split for each kilometre. It is also great to be able to view my run online, complete with each split and a Google map showing where I have run. It is also great for pre-programmed sessions - e.g Mona Fartlek, 6 x 1km repetitions. There are several features that I… Read more

have never used but still plan to one day. Very easy to use and great for showing distance and pace. It can be hard to get a GPS signal sometimes. When the bezel gets wet, it does not respond.

Excellent – Great addition for my works outs. Relatively good price for what you get. I’ve used other HRM but this one probably the best I’ve used. Great Training Tool! I’ve been using the forerunner for a year now and I love it. I probably only use only 50% of it capability but It has helped me improve my fitness. I can track workouts and compare speed, time… Read more

and distance and average heart rate. This is a great indication on how much my fitness has improved. Same workout with better results less effort required. Screen display is clear and can be adjusted to show different information. Garmin connect centre allows you to download and store all the information. I would recommend this product. I live in the city and it can take several minutes to get GPS signal. Once I’m in an open space it gets the GPS signal straightaway.

Excellent – I have been using my Garmin 405 for the last 2 months and I love it. I love being able to keep track of my runs on Garmin connect and get a breakdown of each kilometre and what my pace has been. The GPS is fantastic and I really like having an accurate measure of how far I have run. I use it with the heart rate monitor that came with it and use… Read more

it as a way to track my health and recovery from a run. I would now be lost with my Garmin and look forward to learning about all the other functions it has that I haven't yet discovered. GPS watch, heart rate monitor, able to review runs through Garmin connect, all date stored online, lots of functions, thorough instruction booklet and website, set running pace on watch, numerous displays to chose from on screen when running Can be bulky for petite female to wear, takes long time to acquire satellite signal, bezel can be sensitive to touch and other times not responsive.

Good – It's fantastic to have my speed/distance/pace recorded and it's really changed the way I run because I'm able to plan a pace and stick to it. Defintely worth the few hundred dollars. The perfect GPS watch is yet to be invented, but the Foreunner405cx comes close! Solid construction, pretty stylish (if a bit understated). HR Monitor is better than… Read more

most monitors I've used from other brands (this is my first Garmin). The bezel can be a bit touchy and even something as light as a sleeve can set it off. It's complicated to use at first and takes a while to get used to.

Excellent – I love this watch..the BEST present EVER. Totally worth the money. You definately should get the ANT stick and heart rate monitor as they provide more information and enables easy uploads to the Garmin website where you can view your running tracks on google maps and also track all your runs. I've only put about 250km of runs on in the 6 months… Read more

I've had my watch but I've loved every minute and gained so much more motivation. Can't recommend this product enough...worth the extra pennies to get a GPS based watch rather than similar products with merely foot pads. Everything. This watch provides motivation and is easy to use. I love being able to view my runs on google maps, track my fitness with heart rate monitoring. Viewing average speeds and distances is motivating and being able to share and compare with friends is fun. A few minor bugs such as incorrect timezone when uploading, training setting times out after period of time, watch band is large and when worn by small women it is best to be put over the top of a wrist sweat band so that the watch doesn't roll on your wrist.
