digital camera. Second, it can work with a Li ion battery but there are no indications as to what size battery is required. I think that the voltage may be mentioned in the instruction manual, but I'm not sure. This is a straight out scanner. It does not allow you to do colour corrections on the scanned image. It can scan a variety of formats and can cope with colour and B&W material. There is some scope for image exposure correction, but as mentioned, no colour correction. You will need another program for that or buy a scanner that can to this function. The instruction manual seems to cover everything and the scanner is simple to operate. A few image carriers are provided and they seem to work well enough. When you wish to attach the scanner to a computer, you will need to do it via a USB port and the mains power connect is not required. Data transfer was easy but depending upon the number of images to transfer, it will take some time. This unit can also scan photographs directly from a photo album without having to take the photograph out of the album. It's quite handy but I didn't have to do that. All up, I thought that it worked well enough. For the price, it did what I wanted it to do but in these days of digital imagery, I doubt if I will be using it again.
