Grab taxi service in Asia – Grab is as just bad as Uber. You cannot contact them over the phone. The phone numbers listed under customer service is all bogus numbers and are not in service. I downloaded the Grab app while in Singapore, but my account was suspended for unknown reasons. I just couldn't use Grab at all. I sent messages after message through Grab app but upto… Read more

now there is no responce. I spoke to a tec officer from Just Answer and he said he will charge me a refundable deposit of Aus $ 2 but charged me Aus $ 66, but he couldn't solve my problem after wasting my time. He wanted me to go to Grsb website and follow the prompts. But ther was no such category for me to lodge a complaint. All these guys are frauds. I had a different experience with Uber . So guys be very very careful with these guys. For emergency there is no way of connecting them.

Grab Vietnam charge tourists an extra fee 4% Foreign Fee (which other services or stores do not) – Tourists in Vietnam pay for services with additional charges of a service fee and VAT (Value added tax) which is fine but now their Grab service (like Uber and Uber eats based in Vietnam) have decided to charge an extra fee (which other services or stores do not even if they use the same payment system). This practice of charging a secondary… Read more

'Foreign Fee' by Vietnam Grab of a high 4% should be stopped as it is discriminatory and a 'rip off' to tourists using currency already converted to Vietnamese Dong. Other countries do not charge you a second 'Foreign Currency' after it has already been converted and definitely not 4% on a debit card carrying the converted currency (such as WISE). Tourists already pay the Government Vietnamese 'Service fee', 'VAT fee' and Country Visa fee as required but why another 'Foreign Fee' not by the government but by the greedy Vietnamese Grab which is not regulated considering other Vietnamese services other than Grab using the same / similar payment system do not charge this 'rip off fee'?

This greedy move by Grab by imposing a high 4% on foreign cards even though they (travel cards) carry Vietnamese Dong currency which effects all tourists. This practice is discriminatory to all tourists especially as tourists are being charged foreign currency fees on a second occasion thanks to Vietnamese Grab (once when converting to Vietnamese Dong by their card provider and second when using the Vietnamese Grab service). VISA and Master card do not charge a foreign fee twice but only once during the conversion but not a second time when using the converted funds unlike Grab. In Australia using a debit card for funds on your card only incurs a 0.5% fee for goods and services including car services not a huge 800% mark-up to 4% like Vietnamese Grab. The WISE card and other travel cards carry the Vietnamese Dong currency so why the huge second 'Foreign Fee' of 4% just to spend Vietnamese Dong into Vietnam's economy when it is actually being spent into Grab's economy.

I have advised the Vietnamese embassy in Australia and the Australian embassy in Vietnam as of the 19/6/24 but no reply or acknowledgement has been received. Also Grab support advises, thanks for using our service.
