A waste of money! – I bought two GVA 32 inch TVs from the Good Guys 6 years ago. One went in a spare bedroom and the other in the kitchen. Three years later the TV in the kitchen would not switch on. It had been used very few hours. I put the second TV from the bedroom that had hardly been used into the kitchen. Again approx three years later it would not switch on.… Read more
Again it had very few hours use. Good TVs when they worked but very short life span so considered them a waste of money.
Value for money – For the price this TV is very good value .We use it in our caravan and the sound is good the picture terrific . There are ports for USB ,HDMI and connections to our caravan stereo .Although it is not a smart tv you can connect to an android tv box . Show details
Great Bedroom TV – Very Satisfied with this TV been using for a long time and has never had a problem. Took no time to install and setup. Picture quality for the price is fantastic, sound isnt amazing but for watching in bed are more than enough.there are plenty of ports for my use but if you have a few different thingsyou might run out. For $200 would absoulutely recommend Show details
Terrible tvs and terrible service – After two years my TV can no longer locate a channel and remains stuck on the product screen. When it did work it would randomly switch itself off. I tried to speak to a technician who then directed me to pay money for further advice. As a young woman living on disability awaiting a heart transplant I simply cannot afford this. My recommendation is do not buy GVA! Show details
What a crap tv – wow, this tv is bad we got 4 of them for work so I did not have a choice of the ones we got. They are for children bedrooms who all have hard drives and USB's, unfortunately, this tv will only play mpg files via USB, will not play any of the major formats eg.mp4 Xvid Avi Mkv (will play the audio, not the picture and the audio sounds crap)… Read more
completely useless.
Contacted customer support the guy was very helpful and said he would contact another department and get back to me today which he did and he gave me the information on the playback capability of these models, suggested as a joke I convert all the files to MPG lol 'ain't nobody got time for dat' he generally felt sorry for us and suggested we take them back to place of purchase. He couldn't believe that the tv wouldn't play the files
Great for the price – Paid $195 for a second TV - took 5 minutes to set up - all channels tuned no worries. Works really well - very happy with it. Speakers are a bit 'tinny' but adequate, picture quality is quite good. Has enough ports for my purposes. All in all great value for money. Show details
Audio dreaful – About two week ago we bought from The Bought from Good Guys Wagga Wagga a TV . gVA TV 15a and we are most unhappy. Definition of the audio is terrible,it may be placement of speakers? Could not recommend it to anyone, you can not have another TV say in the next room but can still hear it the voice does not correspond. I bought my TV of the 17/01/17 Show details
Terrible – Brought a brand new GVA tv from the good guys and it has only been used a few times and now it won't display picture only sound. Defiantly disappointed. Won't be purchasing another product from them again. I advise others to pay a bit extra and buy something that will last. Show details
hopeless – My tv has stand by light on but doesn't on from tv. Bought it from GOOD GUYS as well. They referred to GVA company and they are hopeless. If the product has been doing problem why keep in the market. Waste of money and energy. I would't give any star but had to give one star as its not even worth that one alone. Hope people won't buy that brand now and learn from our mistake.
Terrible TV. Dont buy one – My GVA32HD has given me nothing but trouble with sound and falling out of tune and finally the remote stopped working. It won't respond to the Audiosonic universal remote I bought and there is very little in the way of information on how to rectify this. I cannot access my AV channel without an OK button.
My G32tv15 32" – Arrived a day after I brought from "The Good Guys" they rang to make sure I was home and arranged atime of delivery. Works great, great sound picture but doest seem to have a sleeper timer,I have sent a request asking for a solution. No matter what button the instructions tell me to press nothing happens SIGNED Sorta Happy
I guess it's ok – I had an old school tv from the 90s, and the tube suddenly blew one day so I had no choice but to buy a new tv, but with limited funds. GVA was the only decent sized tv I could afford, because I wasn't going to buy a tiny one for a couple hundred when I could get a 32" for just under $400. (basically all my money) It doesn't have a USB port… Read more
which is annoying, and I don't feel like I can properly tune the colour/balance/contrast on the image for some things. But basically I quite like it. The EPG display is the best I've seen on any other similar TV. But the remote is really hinky. Some buttons don't work some of the time, then work again, or I have to hold them for ages. Now it's the power button. Sometimes I can hold it for ages and it works, otherwise I had to use the buttons on the side of the monitor.
OK, just, as a second TV – Image is fine directly viewing, loses definition and colour from side. Takes a long time to change channels. PVR works but setting up is not intuitive

Couldn't tune it! – I bought this tv as a second tv for our bedroom. I bought it home set it up and tried to tune it... Nothing it didn't pick up any channels at all. I took it to the lounge room and tried to tune it on the main ariel and still nothing... I took it back to where I bought it and they tuned it in fine. I took it home and plugged it in again hoping that… Read more
now that it had been tuned it would pick up the channels still nothing! I took it back again and swapped it for the 32" Samsung which cost an extra $45 and plugged it in, worked perfectly!
Great tv but software lousy – TV is fine, for $200 couldn't ask for better but frustrated as&%$#@! instructions clearly state that tv will play AVI MOV MKV (a Polish file format would you believe!) MP4 and TS - can't get one of them playing, Tempo service was polite courteous but let's face it and they told me I seemed to be doing everything correctly. Goodguys staff were… Read more
not helpful when I phoned and Monday afternoon should be a quiet time - I was one day too late for the 14 day "no question asked warranty" and over the phone they have advised that they won't repair, but then I couldn't get a clear answer. Just as well I'm retired with plenty of time to pursue. At the end of the day it was the poor service that made me write a review. For $200 I wouldn't have been fussed if there was no usb movie playback. Inexpensive, good pic, good sound Didn't do what the manual said it would.
Good for the money – I purchased this product about 18 mnths ago do date the only issue I've had is the date and time has changed back to 2010 and now it doesn't show the program. I've tried everything to fix it but there is nothing in the manual to explain how to fix it. It's something I can live without. I use it with usb video and cds no probs at all.
Low quality – The TV Recently stopped working properly, flicking on and off with 'no signal' displayed on the screen. Was never the greatest quality unit, however should have lasted longer than a couple of years. Poor quality 'shop brand' import guys. Im guessing there's no point repairing, next stop will be the wheelie bin and landfill.
Don't buy it – This TV worked fairly well for two years, but since then it will work for 5 - 10 mins, then we get a 'no signal' message - can't watch anything, including DVDs once this signal appears. The Good Guys have been no help at all. I really expected a TV to last a fair bit longer than this. Not impressed. inexpensive - but not in the long run, as now I have to buy another TV. No signal message stops the TV from working.
The tv never worked properly from day one – I purchased a gva television with built in dvd player for my caravan,my first outing after install [about 3 months ] was to a caravan park in melbourne suburbs, the reception was very hap hazard , electronic fuzz and going off and on. we thought it was the location so as we were only there a few days we thought nothing of it.then we went on our… Read more
big trip to queensland [ 3 months later ] being in the caravan the tv was not used until that trip.again the tv reception was hap hazard electronic fuzz, turning off and on and then we found out the dvd would not play a dvd all the way through ,we were away for 8 weeks we needed a tv so i purchased another one and packed the gva away until my return home.i took it back to the good guys they plugged it in and it went fine even a dvd seemed to work =all this was done in about 15 minutes in store .they said they would not do anything for me . i took it home and put it in my bedroom to watch in bed, which i dont do very often.well the time that i did go to bed to watch it the sound disappeared ,i got in touch with the good guys they checked there records and said they would not do anything for me because it was out of warrantee , i took it the local tv repair chap he said it was going to cost to much to repair . so i am left with a tv that has been watched about 10 times and is no good.
no sound ..dvd only plays half the movie..bad warranty..the good guys would not listen to my complaints .it is a lemon
First few weeks ok then stopped turning on properly then not at all, took to Good Guys who were NOT… Read more (+1 reply)
GVA 81cm (32") HD LCD TV – I was in the market for a cheapish spare TV for our guest room, I was prepared to spend $500 or so, I spotted this GVA 32" for $348, the price was hard to walk away from, then I found out it had USB recording and that clinched it, they tried to sell me some insurance but as usual I declined - Its not full HD, 1366x768, picture quality is average… Read more
and sound quality is below average, but acceptable for the price. I tried to research GVA online but there is nothing of any use, from what I can make out GVA is the Good Guys House brand, the TV has 1 yrs warranty and if lasts that long then I suppose it would of cost me $1 per day roughly! I have an old dvd connected through component and it looks OK, I plugged in a HD Video Camera through HDMI port and it looks pretty good, I had to tweak the colour settings a bit but image looks sharp, pleasantly surprised.
For $350 what do you expect really?
UPDATE : TV broke down totally in less than 1 year, still under warranty but was told by repairer that TV was beyond repair..... TV was not over used or abused. I will not buy GVA again. Cheap, USB Recording, Cheap Not full HD, dated looking design
Just an update on the GVA - I have had the TV for 9 months and it has developed a major fault, the… Read more (+11 replies)
Brilliant – I have had no problems with this TV purchased over 12 months ago. PVR works well and the built-in DVD plays all regions. Sound is good. The pause on the PVR is a little slow but workable. Sound chops in and out and picture blinks off and on – Purchased this TV for bedroom on 23/dec/2011 always had. Dropout on the sound would clip words off the speech then just after Xmas 2012 the picture would black out at first it would take about 15 mins to start blacking on and off but after a couple of days it now starts doing it quickly. Would not waste my money and buy from the Good guys again Picture when new was not bad for a bedroom set Lousy sound and now the blacking out of picture

Terrible product – I bought this TV having been told by the Good Guys that it was reputable. For the last 12 months it has lost the signal repeatedly, I've spent good money getting an antennae guy in to fix only to be told that it it is the TV. Then sent it in for repair (which took about 4 weeks) after 1 week home it was faulty again with same issue. Tempo… Read more
who distribute this lemon told me that it had to go back to the repairer and 4 weeks later the repairer contacted me to say they couldnt repair it as Tempo had instructed that it was now out of warranty? Do yourself a favour rather buy a reputable brand that cares about quality and customer service. I wont be going back to G Guys in a hurry and I certainly would not buy GVA again. Cheap Intermittent Signal, bad warranty service, potential fire hazard with faulty motherboard

all this tv was cheap and afodable at the time. Never again. Will I purchase an GVA product. Cheap Having trouble with the setting of the the dvd with it.
Don't waste your money – The tv I bought for my son lasted just over 12 months just long enough to go out of warranty. It turns itself on and off all the time. They maybe cheap, all we could afford but I expected better. Total waste of money and would never buy GVA electronics again. The price Switches itself on and off all the time. Remote was always difficult to use
Model : GVA26FHDC. Its a tv combo . It just lasted as long as the warranty period. The trouble… Read more
