Proven off-road/rugged battery box – The best battery box I've owned. Rugged, strong connectors and a very useful LCD voltage display. This box has survived 10,000km of outback roads and corrugations. It's only.weakness is the on/off switch which can get sheared off if you pack the box tightly. This was a me problem, but Hardkorr were able to arrange a replacement and any company that has a decent spare parts capability is gold in my books.

Purchased in at Hardkorr for $199.

Love it but one thing – Just bought this from bcf have hooked up solar using a solar charge controller im using this in the back of my Prado with a 45 litre fridge freezer .. works a treat way better than my previous battery box .. well wealth the money I have a Engle fridge so I changed out the marine plug for a Engle lock plug .. easily done .. Love the vollt meter and main switch.. my only gripe is actually the volt meter display was not straight it is lop sided but otherwise I love this box .. good quality product

For the price, it's OK. Just frustrating – I've had a box for about 2 years as a temporary dual battery arrangement. It has done what it is supposed to do....almost. The VSR (voltage sensitive relay) has had issues. Note the original VSR was replaced. On about a six occasions with the original VSR and twice with the replacement (over about 40 days/nights usage) I believe the VSR has not sensed the car has been turned off and overnight this has drained the cranking battery. Only way to stop this it appears is to pull the anderson plug out after travelling

Purchased at Snowys Outdoors for $199.

A Highly Moddable and Strong Battery Box – To start off, I've been tinkering with my HardKorr Battery Box so much that I've become an expert on every cable and component inside it. It's honestly the perfect little box I've been searching for due to its great size which supports most 100-125AH batteries, the thick and sturdy walls, and it has ample space and clearance to work inside. In total, I've installed the HardKorr VSR, the battery reset switch, the HardKorr Battery Monitor, a hole to allow AC charging, thru-wall connectors to allow joining in parallel with other 100AH batteries and for running to inverters.

I've also bolted a Solar Controller and the HardKorr 600w inverter to the top of the box which both fit perfectly - all while allowing the strap to go around the middle - although drilling around the cables inside can be tricky. There are ample ports to charge anything you would want on a weekend away and the carrying handles make it much easier to carry - supporting even the extra weight of my mods on the top. There's honestly nothing I can complain about in this case.

A few (very) minor complaints: 1. I would like to see 1-2 2.5mm female DC ports on the box to be able to use with the HardKorr lighting kits. 2. I also wish they used a screw which was fixed to the case for the 'negative terminal hub' rather than one that unscrews from it - because it's very difficult to add another negative cable to the top of the stack and then manage to find it's way back into the case when you can't see the hole. 3. The cables around the VSR are also a little tight making it a little fiddly to get it in there. 4. There were a few very sharply bent cables inside - one of which has lost some copper strands due to the stress of the bend. 5. I'm not sure what the black elevated platform inside the lid is for - but I would have liked the additional space if it was removed. 6. I would have liked the Anderson plugs on the lid to have 1cm or so of spacing between them vertically, to cater for the plugs which have pull handles on them. (Added because removing the anderson plugs can sometimes be difficult when all 4 plugs are being used)

...I also wish HardKorr made a battery box which could support their 200AH battery...

Purchased in at Hardkorr for $179.

Great construction and neat finish – My current set up is my first 12V set up and I'm extremely glad I went with Hard Korr. I deliberated for a long time as to whether I go with other brands and once I saw the construction of the other boxes, which my fellow campers use (namely Adventure Kings), I was glad I went with this one. The fittings are well organised and the wiring inside is very neat. One of the workers at a Jaycar store actually commented on how impressed they were with the finish quality under the lid. I use this with the VSR kit which was super easy to install. I have a 2011 NT Pajero and the VSR kit works perfectly with the "smart alternator". Some people have raised a very good point with the isolation switch sticking out so it could be prone to breaking off. I have mounted mine easily out of the way of potential damage so it's not an issue for me but I can see the concern.
