Waste of money. Cheap Chinese plastic composite unsuitable for Australian conditions – 16 months ago our customer asked for a Hayward Pro Series Side mount MPV filter to be installed. 13 months later the valve unions started leaking. So I used thread tape to secure them. After 16 months the valve unions had cracked caused by cheap Chinese plastic composite that’s not suitable for saltwater swimming pools aNz Australian weather conditions. This system is out of direct sunlight and is protected by a feature wall and roof eaves. Steer clear. Buy a waterco filter instead. 42 years of manufacturing and still makes the best filters to this day. This is based on 11 year’s experience in the pool equipment servicing and repair industry. And 9 years running Aquamech Services Brisbane.

Purchased in at Aquamech for $1,430.

Terrible quality product - Stay away from this lemon – I am beyond dissatisfied with my purchase of the Hayward ProSeries Sand Filter for my house just 1.5 years ago. Despite paying top money for the most expensive sand filter available at that time and being promised the best of the best, it turned out to be a complete lemon. Recently, the filter started leaking from underneath, which obviously isn't what should happen after spending so much money on it. However, when I contacted the warranty department for help, I was rudely informed that rats likely chewed through my filter tank, which isn't covered under 10 year warranty.

But seriously, what kind of material does the company use to build these tanks that rodents can destroy it in just 1.5 years?! And if Hayward knows about this issue with rats, why are they still selling this product on the market? It's a joke. I'm now stuck spending another $2k to replace this lemon of a product.

Thanks for nothing, Hayward!
