Hike IT X9 Throttle Controller

Hike it AU? No. Hike it USA, or to be precise, Hike it China. Tariffs obviously make it impossible for Hike it USA to supply their product. How to get around it? Direct supply from mainland China. It's obvious, why lie?
I have made a previous review of DHL BRISBANE...this further review relates to a company called HIKEIT AUSTRALIA that uses DHL to deliver their products. I ordered a "hikeit" throttle controller and the delivery responsibility was handed to DHL. THIS IS WHERE THESE TWO COMPANIES BECOME CONNECTED. DHL placed my item in an area that was not… Read more
authorised by me but very easily accessed by thieves..my OPEN letterbox. I contacted Hikeit Australia to request information concerning my item and was rudely informed by this clown "Danny" for me...yes me, to track my own lost/stolen product by contacting DHL BRISBANE. My understanding is that once I paID the money and in good faith, for this item I no longer bore any responsibility to ensure its safe and secure delivery...I DEFINITELY DON'T HAVE TO TRACK WHERE IT HAS DISAPPEARED TO....HIKEIT AUSTRALIA & DHL OWNS THAT PROBLEM. When I contacted "HIKEIT" I kept getting the runabout and consistently told to contact DHL. AS STATED ABOVE, I PAID FOR THE PRODUCT I FULFILLED MY PART OF THE OBLIGATION. MY SERIOUS ADVICE TO EVERYONE IS TO AVOID ANY BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS WITH "HIKEIT AUSTRALIA AND DHL AS THESE COWBOWS FROM BOTH COMPANIES SHOW VERY LITTLE TO ABSOLUTELY NO RESPECT FOR THE CUSTOMER AND CONTINUOUSLY FOB RESPONSIBILITY OFF TO EACH OTHER TO WEAR THE AGRIEVED CUSTOMER DOWN IN THE HOPE THEY WILL SIMPLY FADE AWAY. THIS THROTTLE CONTROLLER COST ME A LOT OF MONEY AND NOW NO COMPANY WANTS TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR GROSS ERROR/INCOMPETENCE. IN SHORT, DEAL WITH THESE BOTH COMPANIES AND YOU WILL COME OUT LOSING A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF MONEY AT THE END OF THE DAY.
Love it! – I purchased a Hikeit X9 back in April 2023 and was very curious to see if it would make my 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander a bit more responsive.....the answer is yes! It's made my car much more responsive on the accelerator, and makes my 'Mum car' much more enjoyable to drive. Highly recommend this product! Show details
Cheap inferior products – These guys are TERRIBLE. Bought a throttle controller through them and hooked it into my car - Sent my car into limp mode. Removed it and all back to normal. Tried to call them - No phone number. Emailed them, no response. Posted a negative review on their facebook site and instead of helping me, they blocked me and removed all my posts. Was left… Read more
with a useless piece of equipment. Bought an EVC which worked fine from day one. I remain blocked still. Their reviews on their website are obviously doctored to only show positive reviews as posted there and still got nothing. No help, rubbish product and dont expect anything after you buy one - Youre stuck.
No after sales service – Locking part of the throttle controller was activated because of area we were parked in came back to vehicle after two hours put code in in to disable throttle controller screen showed it was off but throttle controller was still in gauged tried a couple of times to disconnect had to disconnect the throttle controller completely from vehicle to be… Read more
able to get home rang hikeit a couple of times over two days left messages still no answer from them steer clear of this company as there appears to be no after sales service
Brackets fell apart – 3months after purchasing I was on a long trip and the plastic dash mount fell apart. Had to disconnect it and put it in the glove box. Contacted hike it and guess what . You can’t get new mount. No warranty on it also no new car warranty if you have one fitted. So throw it in the bin Show details
Understand what this product does – This product doesn't change your ECU or engine mapping or add more power. It just changes the sensitivity of your throttle (acceletor pedal) Depending on what setting you use. When you have pushed the pedal 1/2 way in. It will set up have it at 100% open throttle. Just means you don't have to mash the pedal to the floor all the time. Adding a… Read more
mild setting (1 or 2) perks the car up nicely. Turn it off and it feels horrible wouldn't drive without it now.
Delivers as promised; kiss that throttle lag goodbye – I have had one of these in my 2022 MU-X for a couple of months now, and it hasn't disappointed. I was looking to dial out that sometimes-mushy response that you get when you really want to get moving, and the X9 has helped a lot in that respect. I have tried all manner of the X9s modes, fiddling with Sport and Cruise mainly, as these are the… Read more
most relevant to everyday driving. I have found Sport 4 or Cruise 6 to deliver good middle ground if you're looking to get moving by gently leaning on the accelerator instead of mashing it.
HikeIt mode is pretty highly strung unless it's set quite low, and as a result it can be the wrong choice if your drive starts extra-urban and heads into tighter driving conditions. Eco mode is one that I haven't used a lot of, as it's a bit sluggish for the everyday commute, but I can imagine that its merits would become clear when creeping along a slippery track or towing in an unfamiliar setting.
Fuel consumption has improved a little, mainly because of the reduced need to really hit the pedal and risk pouring too much diesel into the engine. There has been a lot of talk from other users (not from HikeIt) such as "whoa, more power" and what have you... but this is simply false. The power on tap remains the same, but you have a lot more control over its delivery.
Value? So, pricing has been changeable. I bought for the regular $199 but I notice that it can be had at the moment (Nov '22) for a LOT less. Why HikeIt would rub a belated 40% saving in my face is beyond me, but I guess it makes sense with Christmas gifting coming up. Maybe split the discount towards a credit or finders fee for putting a relative or mate onto a bargain? Just an idea. Still, value is good even at full freight. The closest competitor simply isn't as flexible as HikeIts offering.
I look forward to pairing this unit with a Steinbauer module and maybe even a Hiclone or two (which have been great in other cars) just to see if there's a really pronounced sweet spot to be found. For now, though... the HikeIt X9 is doing its advertised job nicely.
Amazing – Installed on my SSangyong Musso yesterday. Took it for a drive immediately after install. Look, I was sceptical ...OK... Id heard about it and was sick of the lag . This thing has turned my Musso into an absolute brute. Lags gone. OMG the power difference is totally and utterly amazing. Couldn't recommend this any more than I have
