Hoover Handivac 12V Wet & Dry CH968 Questions & Answers
MPN: CH968Hi where can I buy charging base thanks
Hi I have a Hoover Handivac 12v model HH5220, basically require a new battery therefore can you kindly confirm price & where can purchase a replacement battery?
Hi Dan, Unfortunately the replacement batteries for this machine are no longer available. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Regards. The Hoover Team
Is this machine cordless?
Hi, Yes, this machine is battery operated and the battery is rechargeable by the charger provided. Regards, The Hoover Team
Absolutely, it's a hand held Vac which is about 18inches long and battery powered. You recharge it after use by placing it in the 'recharge pack' attached to the wall in my Laundry, which is always plugged into a power source so my Vac is always ready for use. For such a small machine it's surprisingly powerful and certainly gives me plenty of time to quickly go around areas in the kitchen and bathrooms which tend to get small amounts of stuff all over the floor. This is my second Hand Held Vac of this Brand and I would recommend it to anyone having tried other options which are totally useless by comparison. Hope this helps as it's an answer without unnecessary or untrue embellishments'. I believe that mine last a long time because I empty the little collection bag regularly brushing it clean with an old toothbrush (or as I joke - if Hubby has annoyed me I use his without telling him - NO I DON'T REALLY) and give it a gentle wash every now and then and let it dry out fully before replacing it into the machine, I am in fact using the 'collection bag' from my previous Handivac, in my newly purchased Handivac, keeping my new one as a spare. I believe the key to most things is regular and proper maintenance. Hope this helps you.
How are you supposed to clean the blue filters on the sides of the machine?
Hi, Unfortunately these parts are not removable for cleaning. We recommend to dust them off with a dusting brush or tooth brush. Regards, The Hoover Team
I am thinking that perhaps you have used your little 'Hoover Wet and Dry' to pick up liquids at some point and the machine/filters have not been properly dry before using it again and 'dry debris' has then adhered to the filters. I would suggest once separating the main part of the vac from the handle/motor, then using a reasonably 'stiff toothbrush' (I use my Husbands current toothbrush - just joking) and gently clean each little hole in the side filters, even using something like a 'toothpick' to gently and carefully remove any build up around the holes, MAKING SURE NOT TO PIERCE THE FILTERS and then I would use a petrol or electric garden blower (I use mine for many of my household items, including blowing out dust etc from our mattresses, under and behind fridge freezers, dishwasher - anywhere dust can accumulate) then blow through the filters from side to side and then blowing any of the other apertures to clear any lose dust/fluff from the motor etc. If you do use your Hoover Vac to suck up liquids, empty and clean once finished and put the Vac in the sun to completely dry it out. I hope this helps you but I've never encountered this problem even with my 6 year old Vac which gave out this year and my fastidiousness isn't for everyone but it has worked for me 53 years of Marriage and billions of hours of housework, once of course some of these things were actually invented.
What type of battery is in the hoover handivac 12v? Is it okay if left on charge the whole time when not used?
Hi Huss, These machines have a Ni-Cad battery, you can leave the machine on charge when not in use, but if it is not being used for more than a few days we recommend taking it off and then recharging before use. Regards, The Hoover Team
Can the batteries be replaced, our hanivac has to be charged before every use. Will not hold charge for any length of time.
