HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw

Don't waste your money – I have spent hundreds of dollars paying my IT consultant to troubleshoot problem after problem with this printer, ranging from the printer over-riding Word settings in documents, to it refusing to print from a particular tray, then happily printing from that tray a few hours later, to refusing to print a document unless glossy paper was inserted in the tray. We finally thought we had it sorted out, but today one of the colour cartridges ran out and the printer is refusing to print in plain black. Once again, my IT consultant is on the phone to HP, who have been less than helpful on the other occasions he has contacted them, and once again I will have to pay him to fix issues that simply shouldn't be arising. I run a small business and all this down time is seriously affecting my productivity. I need a dependable printer, not one that is so capricious that I have to get my IT consultant in every couple of days just to get it to print a document.
I should have trusted my instincts – I bought this printer a week ago, two years after buying an HP InkJet which simply did not work properly - no matter what I did, it kept printing out A4 documents where the printed part was about the size of a regular envelope. After spending hundreds of dollars paying my IT consultant to get it to work, it couldn't be rectified and so was returned to the seller.
I should have trusted my instincts. This new printer does print, but my IT Consultant cannot get the scanning function to work - and again I've paid out hundreds more dollars for him to try to rectify it
I am utterly over this. This is a printer valued at nearly $1000.00 and it is has similar IT issues to the last one.
