THE WORST MOST HORRIBLE PRODUCT! DO NOT BUY – Literal Piece of crap Needs an APP to work, the app doesnt work. Then if you manage to get it working you need to get a STUPID WPS PIN which is the same as touching your nose from behind your head. The MORONS at HP should be fired and never be given design jobs again! Show details

Don't do it – Rarely works. Worst printer I have ever owned or worked with. Prints a new test page every time it restarts which wastes ink. If the colour runs out it won't work on Black only. Connection to WiFi is shocking. All buttons can say it is connected but still nothing happens. This product was so poor that I will NEVER buy a HP product again.

For $19, this printer is fantastic – It is very easy to set up, prints, scans, copies, can be used directly from PC or any device - for $19. I wanted to put a review up here countering the negative ones as they made me hesitant to buy this printer. I should not have been. It does exactly what is should do and was insanely cheap. Yes the ink is pricey, but you can get much cheaper third-party cartgidges. For a small home office and very occasional printing, this is a great choice. Show details

Easiest set up I have ever done – I have only just set this printer up, and haven't put the ink cartridges in yet as I am not using it till my old printer runs out of ink, however after reading some of the bad reviews on how some people thought the set up was bad or complicated I just had to say that, for me, it was the fastest and easiest wi-fi set up I have EVER done with a… Read more

printer (and I do a few as I actually visit peoples homes and help them if they have trouble setting up their printer). I downloaded the HP smart App from the Microsoft store from the link provided when I visited the HP website and followed their prompts to connect it to my wi-fi and it really was easy and fast, and was connected to my computer quickly,I did a test scan and its working fine.

Very happy – I see a lot of bad reviews but I can't fault mine, specially for he price. Doesn't do everything immediately you touch the buttons on phone or unit, but I've had no probs. cartridges are cheap enough and readily available, and they are not heavy on useage, sorry I'm happy  Show details

Never wants to work – The print quality is only reasonable with poor contrast between highlights and shadows and weak saturation levels. It's difficult to set up and frequently has trouble connecting to my devices and has almost never worked via wireless connection, to the point where it won't even allow me to print via usb connection. I am very frustrated and disappointed by this printer as the only thing reliable about it is that it never works.

How to not buy a printer, AGAIN! My 2nd HP printer – Focus on being factual and objective. Don't use aggressive language and don't post personal details - Now I've added the review criteria in here to try and be as factual and objective as possible. Q. How satisfied are you with the print quality in monochrome and colour?  A. This question is invalid with the product. Q. How satisfied are you… Read more

with this product's features/controls and its performance when you apply different settings? A. Can only print from my phone but can't scan, but I scan from my computer but I can't print. I have to use both devices at the same time. Found that out after roughly 2 hours while trying to contact support. After all that they didn't recognise the printers serial number?

Q. If applicable, how satisfied are you with the connectivity of the printer? A. Doesnt connect most of the time and/or disconnects my computer from the internet forcing you to restart you PC. Next question?

Q. How satisfied are you with the reliability and consistency of the printer (e.g. does it jam)? A. Honestly. This is the worst printer in the world. Stay away. Now where's my hammer!

No wonder it was $28 – Once you want to connect the printer to your new wifi, it is useless. I tried to go online for answers but it keeps repeating turn off and on your printer and then its like hold these 2 buttons make it connect to the printer. Looks like I should've bought a Canon Printer after all. Show details

Garbage doesn't even deserve a star – Impossible to use. Tells me it's not connected when it is. When I try to print a document, it prints endless copies of an old document, the memory of which can't be removed. Just goes on and on using the printer cartridge and paper. I printed out HP instructions for use which are worse than useless. If I didn't value my window, I would throw this piece of garbage right through it. As it is, it will go into the garbage bin. Show details

Terrible, hard to work with, constant troubleshooting, horrible customer service – Print quality is bleh. The only feature I USED to find useful was being able to print to an email address and print from my phone. If you lose internet or have to reset a wifi password or name, good luck ever getting the printer connected to the internet again without needing to call into support. I work for a software company, and this thing is ridiculously hard to troubleshoot. Show details

Absolutely Do not buy! – I can't give it less than 1, but it deserves half a star for the idea and the moderately okay scanner. Do not buy this. You will use easily half an ink cartridge just setting the thing up. And that's not even mentioning the countless hours and hours and hours I have spent troubleshooting it- as a person who is good with tech! I am never normally one to leave poor reviews but I have seriously lost it with this thing. Save your sanity people. Show details

Needlessly complicated and difficult to use – The printer itself is fine, if basic - it will do what you need it to do, provided you can get it working. To use the printer you need to install the HP Smart app, which is incredibly unhelpful and borderline useless. Connecting the printer to your wireless network is a lengthy and complicated affair, and God help you if you need to update your… Read more

drivers - the app provides no option for this, and all the online advice amounts to 'use the app.'

In fact, 'use the app' seems to be the go to advice for any troubleshooting issues you might have. I've used higher quality printers in the past that have been simpler to connect and operate, both by Bluetooth and wireless network. As it is I've only been able to use this printer without issue a handful of times in the six months that I've owned it.

Tonight I've spent two hours trying to reconnect the printer after yet another issue. No more. The way this printer is set up and the app that controls it are trash. The only thing I don't regret is the low cost of purchase.

Avoid.

Printer with its own life – Bought this printer in december 2019. It would be a solution for wireless printing if you get it to work. Sometimes it does most of the time it doesn't. The small cartridge does a lot of work for the printer itself by printing a lot of paper for self test and how to connect the wireless. So by the time you need a print it runs out of ink. A… Read more

replace cartridge cost you another $53 which does not go far either. Best choice is a simple Brother laserprinter no fuss just connect to your pc with a usb cable. Which you also can do with the 3630 but every time you switch on your pc it prints yes a self test asking you to copy this and print again. So much for a cheap printer.

Rubbish – The old adage you get what you pay for applies here. Hasn’t worked since the day I bought it!! Comes up error paper jammed and it’s not. After reading other reviews I’ve decided to bin it and spend my money on something decent that doesn’t have printer cartridges that cost more than the printer. What a joke!! Show details

It's just like a use and throw printer. The ink cartridge cost more than the printer – The printer is handy and very reliable. Can be done wirelessly with mobile devices. Scanning and copy is also super. Just the ink cartridge is so expensive than the printer.

Handy for light use – The HP 3630 is handy to have for occasional printing. Wireless printing is very handy, in fact I’ve never had to connect it to my PC I’ve just printed wirelessly from my phone through the handy HP Smart app. The clever thing with the app is that you can take separately scanned pages and make them a single doc for easy sharing. The Printer was very cheap but the ink cartridges cost more than the printer. Show details

Brother 3630, a struggle to work with – This model is still readily available in large quantities across Officeworks and other places. The old adage you pay for what you get haunts me. That said for $23 I nonetheless expected it to function properly as a printer and scanner, though not to a high quality. unfortunately it is the function that fails. All Good from me – Only purchased it last week because I didn't feel like paying nearly $150 for toner for my Brother printer. OfficeWorks were selling them for $24 so figured I'd give it a got. Worked ok for a while – After working just fine for a few months, it started cutting off the top of words. Then it started only printing the bottoms of documents. I got tired of spending hours, then days trying to solve this, so I am throwing it out and buying a new printer. To be fair, you get what you pay for and I didn't pay much for this printer.

Terrible, abomination avoid at all costs – This has the worst setup, most buggy frustrating piece of equipment I have ever had to deal with, it worked at best intermittently after hours trying to print off windows or android, it's seemed to work from Apple products. It ended up in the bin as its not worth a replacement cartridge. Avoid HP printers at all cost..  Show details

Dust collector/paper weight – This printer has only ever printed properly once in the years I have had it, makes a great scanner but practically useless for printing. Followed though HP's help, completed a printer calibration, alignment and clean. After all this still didn't work only one option left was to buy new cartridges and that was a big waste of money and time. Paid $50 for a scanner that I use maybe twice a year.  Show details

This plastic ain't fantastic! – This printer was part of a laptop package I got for Christmas. After reading reviews on it, I was worried that it wouldn't last. Now here a year later it doesn't work for anything but as a copier. HP support is a lousy joke. Before it clunked it was throwing paper jams, printing stuff you already printed wasting paper and ink, errors, and printer not validated faults. Thanks for nothing QVC, and HP.  Show details

Bucket of ———- – The most useless dust collector I’ve ever bought. I would have to agree with previous reviewers this printer has all the problems other users have mentioned. Very troublesome and I can't rely on it – Basically it was a difficult thing to get up and running as it fights you all the way. You have to get down on your knees and plead and compromise all the time and hope doesn't get some error or paper jam or decide the connection suddenly isn't good enough. Often it'll say you're out of paper and sure enough you've got plenty. Tonight I've tried… Read more

No Good – Bought this as I wanted a new printer, which I thought would have been an upgrade from my old one. This printer does not come with instructions so I still don't know how to use it properly. button to press to print a basic page from the computer. Also there is no usb input so you have to have a computer hooked up to it, I'm not even going to try the WiFi, too complicated. I write this review because I just went to print a document and it has printed black as blue so obviously the ink is running out and I have hardly used this printer at all printed 20 pages at most so I guess that's all I'm going to get out of it. Paid $50 from big w, Bought it because the only other option was 4 times that amount. Will obviously have to spend more for my next printer.

Avoid – I am not a computer guru but I have good computer skills. This printer is really unpredictable and temperamental, the set up is not straight forward at all for a home printer. Avoid! Elegant printer - does the job with decent print quality – Decent print quality and does what I want it to do. More trouble then it worth! – Where do I start? Not even the price is encouraging, it's simply not worth the $20-$30. It's a nightmare to setup. It prints old jobs unless you manually go in and cancel them after printing. Printing ANYTHING is a SLOW process, it basically works in slow-mo. flashing its lights like a Christmas tree. The print quality is ok when it's just a text document but if its an image or anything in colour you wish to print you will end up with horrible faded lines through the image which will make you think that your printer is low on ink (already!) so you'll go and buy more ink only to realise that HP dropped the ball on this one and it's just a crap printer.

Nothing satisfied me more than throwing this piece of S*** in the bin – First of all, what an absolute nightmare to setup. I am familiar with computers and this was simply horrible. Don't even bother – This printer, is absolutely horrid. It takes ten years to print (if it even prints) not even worth the $20 I spent on it. I wouldn't even pay 5 cents. Don't waste your money people. When looking for a good printer, it pays to pay more. This printer is just useless. It's in the bin now, not even worth giving it away!!!  Show details
