I purchased a HP3720 printer some time ago with the understanding it was a relatively cheap printer/scanner but ink refills would make it not so economical. I have had nothing but frustration with the printer as it hardly ever works when I need it. Despite constant and repetitive downloads to fix issues whenever I turn it on, or to wait long… Read more

periods for it to do a self diagnostic (only to fail), it's finally been unplugged and tossed out the back door. This is the most liberated I felt in a long time.

Absolutely no problems setting it up and no problems with wi-fi connection. Print and scan quite adequate for my modest needs - but! Not sure what, if anything, I am doing wrong but paper feed is a pain for scanning, copying and printing. It's difficult to get the scanner/copier slot to grab the paper at all, let alone squarely. Taking two or… Read more

three attempts to get it right most times. No problem with printing paper feed if I only need a single page but if I need to print a document with two or more pages I have a problem. The first page feeds and prints fine but I then have to manually coax the feed for the second and any subsequent pages. Very bloody exasperating! Too soon for me to say anything about ink consumption or replacing cartridges.

Avoid this model – Don't buy this printer. Cheap and nasty. Wouldn't connect with wifi as advertised, had to use usb cable. Managed to connect to computer ok and test pages printed but Wouldn't print from computer or scan. Avoid this model. My old HP model was fine so I will buy HP again.

Do not buy. Terrible – I bought this a few months ago. Only used a handful of times. It is very unpredictable. Not user friendly and impossible to align. Sometimes it will print half a page, it will be smudgy and streaky. Attached are pictures that I wanted to print, and the other is what was coming out of the printer. Which you can see is not good quality and smudgy. Not happy Show details

Good reliable But, – This has been a great little printer for what I want, but, for printing in great colour , Not so good. It wont print red no mater what I do, and only us genuine HP inks. Brown instead. I've cleaned etc numerous times and prints all other colours perfect, except Red appears as brown. I don't care but, no good for pictures and photos with red in them. Just so people know. Show details

Perfect For My Needs! – I was hesitant to buy this at first due to the amount of bad reviews but it turned out completely fine! I bought this from OfficeWorks to print out things for uni and for the price, it fit my needs perfectly as I don't do heaps of printing. It is really cute and compact and fits well on my small desk. The wireless function was an absolute breeze… Read more

to set up once I figured out where to find the password/username for the online portal and the scanner worked fine for me (no need for an extra USB cord!). Really satisfied with my purchase!

Only for masochists – Never worked properly. Prints came out blotchy. Scanner stopped working after 8 months. Search indicated a faulty driver (a brand new device!) but no indication of how to fix. Any attempt at access to the 1 year warranty was met with obfuscation by the seller.

You never know when it will want to work after driving you crazy – Purchased less than a year ago and now I see it's "discontinued"! Maybe it should be! But what can I do with my poor machine? It doesn't work most of the time. The HP Smart software shows different status from the Control Panel one. Even if sometimes it shows a "ready" status, when you send a job to it, it won't print. You may get it to work… Read more

sometimes by running the Troubleshooter, but that is not a definitive cure. You just need to continuously try all the options like: turning the printer on and off, canceling the jobs and starting again, sending the jobs from different programs... or running the Troubleshooter...Never know when it will want to work again. This drives people crazy! Also, the software is not registered with Window's Program and you can't just update the software but to reinstall it. Enough is enough. I can't believe HP, to this day and time, cannot even build a suit of basic software! Sucks!

Terrible, awful, don’t buy!! – Terrible! Worst purchase I’ve ever made. Every time I use the printer, it’s a night mare. Connection drops out, firmware requires updating, the print quality is shocking! I cannot print colour images, tried for ages to troubleshoot but it makes no difference, will never get a cheap printer again. You get what you pay for. I hate this printer.

Absolute garbage – Couldn't connect. No USB cable was provided. I actually moved house while in possession of this printer, yet couldn't connect at either house. So that's 2 houses, 2 different ISPs and 2 different routers, and yes the 2.4Ghz signal reception was on full bars on other devices in the same room I was attempting to connect the printer. I tried the HP "Smart" app and downloading the drivers separately. Absolutely garbage. Show details

0 stars absolute crap – It took hours to set up, followed the instructions and downloaded an app that wasn’t for that printer. Horrible customer service at hp, and very hard to find a phone contact number, long wait times, couldn’t help at all. I need to fiddle with it at least 15 mins everytime I want to use it, turn it off and on again, reboot the wifi over and over… Read more

until it decides to actually work. App says it’s ready computer says it’s offline all the time. Uses a notable amount of ink just to align. Takes paper in crooked. Printing faded significantly when it still reads on the computer as enough ink… approx a quarter left. Only comes with a trial ink that barley let me print maybe 15 pages single sided in black and white. Uses excessive colour, even when you’re only printing black and white. Ink is crazy expensive and it uses a crazy amount of ink. Used a full $50 colour ink on 13 page print outs that wasnt even full colour, and not double sided! I have spent hundreds on ink and only used one pack of paper… all documents and reports aside from the colour cover pages… I cannot believe a product exists that would cost so much and deliver so little!!! Shame on you Harvey Norman and hp!!

Cheap crap – Don’t waste your money. Set up took many attempts over months. Test print finally worked. But now it won’t print. Multiple reasons. Buggy app and printer.

Terrible scanner – On Monday 9th January 2023 I bought this but the scanner is just horrible. Don't waste your money on garbage like this because it won't print either. On Tuesday 17th January 2023 I had to return it to the Bayswater Officeworks because I wasn't happy with this printer. Show details

Dont Buy – The printer is a good printer, when it works, which is about .5% of the time. Reinstalling will be your friend with this computer. Bin it and buy something else. If its not that its something else. Who would of thought that scanning or printing would be so hard. Show details

Absolute Garbage – HP should withdraw this printer until they can get the drivers to work correctly. I noticed today that there is a vulnerability with the software notice. The printer does not connect when you want it to. Evan after a complete reinstallation still does not want to connect. Show details

Useless – I purchased this printer with great hopes, I was so enamored with it that I gave the first I purchased to my mother and purchased a new one for myself. information. I then contacted the help center and was advised I needed a password, that was not included in the instructions or in the mountains of useless ink and paper I had wasted.

I then attempted to use this wonderful printer with the password to guide my way and proceeded to waste more paper and ink.

I attempted to print something that was not irrelevant gobbledygook and was told the wonderful printer was OUT OF INK.

Both mine and my mothers printers are now in the bin and I will be going from here to any review site I can find to sing the praises of this wonderful printer.

NB please substitute the word wonderful with any combination of four letter words that come to mind.

Okay printer but why do you need to repeatedly login to hp to use it? – The fact that you can’t print without an internet connection and logging into an HP account is overkill and is just time consuming. Reasonable printing quality and ease of use Show details

These printers won't connect to wifi and won't print – NB all of the instructions say '...this, or that, is the problem. To fix it, first connect your printer to your network.' But none of them says how to do this. I've had printer HP3630 for 2 years. In that time it printed intermittently until recently when it just stopped. No wifi connection. I pressed and held these icons or those icons.… Read more

Nothing. After 7 days and the combined efforts of family and friends in the tech industry I gave it the boot.

I bought this new printer, the HP3720,1 week ago. It won't connect to wifi, either. Again I have spent days following all the instructions. Nothing. Again I connected it to my laptop with a USB cable and went through all the steps again. Nothing. I placed both printers next to my Router. NOTHING. I've had it with HP. I will never buy an HP printer again. Never.

This Printer sucks. Don't buy it – It constantly jams, constantly turns off and then changes the IP so I have to set it up all over again, if it does get an error code you cant "fix" it unless you turn it off. HP used to have the best printers on the market. This new crap is just that, crap.

If you want a printer that lasts for 6 months, this is it! – I actually have no issue with this printer when it works. Wifi was easy to connect, easy to print and use. My 1st one died after about a year. My 2nd one started printing only Gray all of a sudden after about 6 months. I have tried all updates maintenance, new ink cartridge, change print settings etc nothing fixes this issue. I will not be buying a 3rd. Show details

I regret this purchase – Print quality is ok, when I can get it printing. Wifi connectivity is sporadic - if I had a dollar for every time I got the message "printer is offline"... and that's even when it's connected by USB cable after trying via Wifi repeatedly!

WORST PRINTER - DO NOT BUY ! – This printer is a dog. I have been on the phone to HP Support who could not resolve the printing of photos. I have spent many hours on the internet trying to resolve the issue of printing photos. I am simply trying to print a 4 X 6 color photo. Have followed all the right procedures and downloaded the right software. From reading the issues on the internet their is an incompatibility problem with Windows 10 and the HP Deskjet 3720 printer. Show details

Slowest scanner on the planet – prints fine connected fine. Scan is so slow two hours to scan 50 or so documents, switches off on it's own all tells me their is an issue. Returning it is a piece of junk. I wanted something that was quicker than my old printer scanner and this is not it. Show details

Worst printer ive had – Printer takes a long time to get perfect prints , dont even try scanning on here its the worst scanner ive ever seen , it is not aligned and just looks horrible. The only reason i gave it one star is the size of it for a small office area its good but thats it. Would rather use my cheaper printer i thought was bad but now looks perfect compared. Show details

Good, when it actually works – This printer is so frustrating. While it does the job when I can get it to work - I have to restart about three times to print anything. It's alway in 'offline' status despite being connected to the internet So frustrating.
