Much better printers for half the price – I have had much better printers for half the price - wish I'd kept one of them, rather than taking on this 'upgrade'. The worst printer with the worst support ever. Just don't get hooked into their Instant Ink system; yes it can chug along easily enough, then you print extra pages and get a bill for £129 - that's around £0.40 per page... And,… Read more

because you MUST use HP inks on their ‘plan’, your inks cost much more than non-HP brands - £70+ every two or so months. When you do try to cancel Instant Ink, if you try to switch to respectable, reliable 'other brands' of ink rather than HP's own - STOP! They virtually switch off your printer - tell you 'NO, you can't use forgeries, only ours.' Now I'm stuck with this slow, low-quality repro lump, which functions wirelessly only intermittently, possibly only when HP-control allows? Hard to tell what the actual problem is, but, while every other wireless-operated device in the house functions perfectly, I get the recurring message; "THE PRINTER IS NOT RESPONDING" when I attempt to print on my HP ENVY Inspire. Inspire?! Whoever dreamed up that one obviously never used one.

On the fence – I am on the fence with this one. I feel it is a robust reliable unit for real home office work. Where I think it could have done better: - added software would have been nice, such as a proper scanner app. - lower pricing. the cost of the replacement ink is already expensive, so no need to make the unit itself more pricey than its competitors. Show details

Worst Printer – Worst printer I've ever owned. It just doesn't work. Did all the install stuff providing email accounts etc. Won't scan at all. Only prints when it wants to. It does copy though. Ink really expensive.

Terrible – A year down the line with this printer. Absolutely the worst printer I have ever owned. Every time I want to print something, I have to go through a convoluted on/off, reinstall, search for printer routine. The HP smart app is terrible. Printing a page becomes a 15 minute exercise. Show details

Terrible product, unreliable and difficult to trouble shoot with little to no support – Terrible product. When purchasing this product, you're not informed that you have to go on a plan. Essentially, it's like buying a mobile phone and going on a plan. You can't just buy cartridges and put them in like normal printers, you're forced onto a monthly contract and if you cancel, you can't use your printer. It's a terrible product and… Read more

I've had nothing but issues. I've spent endless hours going in circles with customer support on multple occasions, and I have no more answers anytime in engage in hours of whatsapp messaging than before I statyed. Calling isn't possible, it takes weeks to speak to someone on the phone. HP hasn't made it easy with transparency with this product. I'm not ignorant when it comes to technology, and don't find it too difficult to navigate in most circumstances, but I feel like it's incredibly difficult to work this printer. I've also engaged in other people to read over my conversations with customer support and understand the issues to ensure its not me struggling to grasp the issues, but they too despite being tech savvy are either agreeing with me with the lack of transparency, or finding it impossible to navigate. We are all in our thirties and have set up alot of printers in the past and use technology regularly. My concern is how the older generations would handle this. It's cost me income as I use it for work, and also the ability to educate my child. This product left me feeling like I am throwing money at a wall. I hope this review helps people consider a more user friendly printer. I am going to be switching brands promptly for a reliable product.

Very disappointing and deceitful HP - Forced to go on a plan – I have spent hours on the phone trying to fix issues. Genuine cartridges dont work so your choice to go on a plan, or supply your own isn't really there.. So you are forced to go on a monthly plan, and then everything magically works perfect again. If you stop paying, even though you have full ink cartridges they stop your ability to print!! Very… Read more

Whatever happened to plug and Play? Firmware making a good printer usless – HP ENVY Inspire 7920e- on paper it does everything i need from a small footprint scanner double sided printer, looks so flash with is little informative screen. Plug and play was when you turned on a printer and searched in windows settings for new printer it would find it and install the drivers for it to work, life was so easy. Jump to the… Read more

bottom if you want the short version. The HP ENVY Inspire 7920e only inspires me to throw it in the bin, we are now on round 5 of getting the windows 11 PC to find the printer. First set up its seems they want to know everything about me, my name, my address, my mobile number and credit card, privacy alert.... So i opted for the off line version, down loaded the software (WHY CAN'T I HAVE A DISC?) installed the software, had to provide the key number next to the print cartridge and we have print-NO it say wrong number and can't be connected-deep breath..... Attempt 2 So i opted for the off line version, down loaded the software (WHY CAN'T I HAVE A DISC?) installed the software, had to provide the key number next to the print cartridge and we have print-Yes printed a double sided document, happy turned it all off. Next day, turned on the PC, wanted to print a document from my email, "Printer Offline" turned printer off and on, still offline, turned PC off and on "Printer Offline", turned printer off and on we have print.... Really! We updated some house plans, thought we would scan to PC then email them to our builder, evidently the software does not install the drivers for the scanner, down loaded the scan software had to find the key again, you have to use the PC and ask the printer to scan, achieved. Later in the week, needed to print an email from the builder, "Printer Offline" tried every version and sequence of off and on again but no online printer, had reinstalled the original software and go through the set up procedure again.

The short version- it’s a great looking printer but the software/firmware is not fit for purpose, if your have just bought one take it back it more trouble than its worth. You will never achieve a print from turning on your PC to print in one go without turning something on or off or reinstalling the drivers.

Terrible - buy if you have the patience to deal with multiple issues – UPDATE: Thought it couldn't get any worse...but it has. Have been trying to subscribe to Instant Ink. Two credit cards not accepted on many occasions using phone; HP app; HP laptop and over both the HP and instant ink website. Customer service now tells me I need to clear cache/browsing history; go incognito and do other rubbish to get my credit… Read more

card accepted. Who wants to do through all this hassle? Not me!

PREVIOUS: As stated before, it is a nightmare getting any help.

Sent email through with pics as to the issue. They don't deal with emails - you have to call and the service representatives don't have access to your ticket number or pics. So spent many a time being redirected to the wrong department and then dealing with an agent who thought I had an IQ of 1. Verbally describing the issue is ridiculous when pics were taken and sent.

HP service would have expended at least one hour over many agents in dealing with the issue. I was sent a video re set up...hadn't previously viewed as the video excluded my model number. What a farce.

Well engineered, but ink costs a fortune – Printer manufacturers get their money one way or the other. Either by charging a lot for the printer, or charging a lot for the ink. In this case its the latter. For the price this printer is solid, well-engineered, well-built and has good features. The display is big enough and user friendly. It does double sided. It has a paper tray. Then you… Read more

find out it only takes genuine HP cartridges, and they cost a fortune for how many pages they print, and they still clog up if you don't keep wasting ink to clear them and paying through the nose for that. I don't know who'd be happy with this printer. If you don't print many pages the heads clog up. If you do print lots of pages continually replacing cartridges costs a fortune. This printer is a good example of why a lot of people think inkjet printers aren't worth the trouble and running costs, and are paying a bit more for a cheap laser printer.
