An Absolute Nightmare! – I've gone through 3 of these printers. I have replaced the cyan/magenta printheads on each of these at least twice. They all have problems NOT printing blue, despite frequent printhead cleanings. And they keep trying to align, and that always fails. Show details
My printer never gives problems! – I purchased mine many years ago, it works perfectly and never had any problems with it! I'm amazed at the negative comments I see on other's reviews! Only "minor" issue I have is that replacement ink cartridges for this model often are in short supply!
Easier to purchase new printer than replace print cartridges and print heads to HOPEFULLY correct pr – I purchased 2 HP Officejet Pro 8500's. Last year I discarded the first because the carriage would not return to its proper position. I am now discarding the second (both of which were not used extensively). After replacing black print cartridge the alignment process proceeded to print test pages ultimately emptying ALL other cartridges. Once… Read more
all were replaced, the printer would not align correctly and now requires replacement of print heads. It is easier and cheaper to purchase new printer, and it won't be HP.
Exasperating unreliable expensive piece of Junk – We have had four of these printers and all given trouble. One of them straight out of the box. Was returned for exchange. Others all failed in one way or another. Continuous Faux paper jambs saying remove jammed paper. No paper jamb. Continuous aligning printer heads problem. Goes on for ever and sounds like it is disintegrating inside. Put in… Read more
New printer heads and new inks. Still the same issues. These are not bottom of the range printers and we expected reliability.
HATED this printer! – Biggest time and money waster ever! It kept telling me I had no ink despite coming straight out of the packet, finally got it working then the blue wouldn't print. Takes forever starting up and aligning etc. Once it actually gets sorted out and does print its great, but way too much of a hassle for the money spent. Cartridges are also quite… Read more
expensive and when there is a problem its too much money wasted to have to replace again. Usually I really like HP products but this I would not recommend. Print quality is good when it does print Expensive cartridges and unreliable.
Nightmare – Never again. And they had the cheek to take my £15.99 - which I knew i had to pay because it was out of warranty, then refuse to help because I'd broken the warranty by using clone cartridges, but not returning my £15.99. Worst thing of all is that it won't let you cancel things that go wrong Quite good on ink usage Horribly slow - keeps going off into print-head checking for twn minutes in the middle of printing
This is JUNK and I can live without it – This print (with terrible reviews elsewhere) is one of the biggest pieces of junk I have purchased from a supposedly reputable company. It prints poorly except in B&W. It will not print B&W if any colour cartridges are out. It loses wireless connection and usually will not connect as a scanner at all without rebooting it: Scanning just seems to… Read more
drop its own connection. The software is garbage and reinstalling the software is a nightmare. Setting up wireless and/or wired connections is ridiculously convoluted. The ink monitor is inaccurate, inks are expensive of course and with all the stupid realigning and cleaning going on it seems to go through ink as if HP were and ink company and not a buyer of junk printers from China...which they are.
Excellent – HP you've won me! My printer had problems connecting wireless out of the box. I called HP they tried to sort it but couldn't so sent me out a new one!!!!! How good is that. I like the replaceable printheads, I do a lot of printing so that's a bonus to me. Also the running costs are good, HP pitch this as an alternative to a lazer and it is the… Read more · 2
perfect fit for me. If you need a good multi-office solution go for this one. This is for the 8500A Plus - with the larger LCD screen & wireless
- easy set up
- looks good
- typically good HP quality
- replaceable printheads
- duplex
- fast
- economical printing
- SUPPORT - HP support is always good, you can phone or email and get good help. I replaced my previous HP with a Brother - big mistake, support is pathetic. HP support is 10/10 for standard support. - none yet
This printer has never worked. Service is appalling - unless you thrive on doing it yourself – We bought the HP Officejet Pro 8500 about 8 months ago for our business, and it has never worked. First error - the black ink has never printed, second error - it says "Aligning Printheads" on the screen for about 45 mins after turning it on, and then says "Printhead Alignment Failed" then tries aligning again. Lastly - it tells me that I am out… Read more
of ink, even though it has (expensive) new cartidges installed, and all that has ever come out are less than 10 test pages. After several + hour phone calls to support, and after receiving a new part for me to install myself, HP is now sending me a new base machine. I have to take out all the removable parts (which they can not list to me in detail - I just have to have a go and if I miss anything I need to pay to have a new part sent), and then try and put back together. Apparently HP does not have a service centre system - it is left to the buyer to do the repairing. I am not looking forward to receiving my new machine tomorrow, as I simply do not have the time, patience or ability to service my own printer. Also, despite giving explicit instructions to the service centre about delivery days, the machine arrived when nobody was here, without the promised pre-delivery phone call... None, I have never seen this machine work. Well, it has never worked. The fact that you can't get service from HP - it is all phone based is a huge disappointment. I would never buy a machine that I could not take into a service centre for repairs. The machine we bought is clearly faulty, and all the service people on the phone tell me that, however, they are still required to go through certain procedures with me before they can log a request for repalcement parts. Given the failure of my machine, I had to sit on the phone for several hours at a time in order to go through the steps required. This has been the most frustrating piece of equipment I have ever bought. If I have to hear it whir and chug again I am going to throw a brick at it.
this printer is wi-fi – This HP officejet pro printer is so quick, it can print one sheet of paper in 10 seconds max. it's print colour is so clear on paper and ITS WI-FI so if you have wirless inernet (router) you can conect it to the printer and you can print were ever you are in your house. it is WI-FI you can print anywhere in the house It is really bad with connecting Show reply
Great printer for home use – Great printer with many functions for everyday needs. I purchased this printer mainly for the fax, duplex copying and wifi connectivity. I also reviewed the ink cartridge yields and found that although the cartridges do cost a lot they last longer and are better value in the long run. Overall I would recommend this printer to anyone with a home… Read more
office setup. Duplex copying with automatic document feeder. Wifi connectivity. Easy to use fax and scanner. Standby mode is energy efficient. Wifi hard to setup and drops out occasionally. Have to restart the printer for it to connect again. Ink cartridges expensive. Found it hard to work out how to setup the distinctive rings on a fax duet line.
Excellent – We have had the printer for around 9 months and it has worked well without a hitch. It was recommended to us by word of mouth and we would certainly recommend it as a reliable and efficient machine. Very intuitive and easy to use. Plug in your flash drive and the menu adapts accordingly. Scan and the menu asks you to select which device to scan to… Read more
eg to different house computers or flash drive. Wireless and prints well. The unit seems solid. It supports several media formats. Doesn't have a slot for printing on card.
