For many years I used Epson WF printers. So when my WF2760 died, I replaced with a WF3820. It was so faulty (on and off WIFI all the time over a week) I had to return for a refund. I replaced with an HP Smart Tank 5105. The HP was incredibly easy to connect to WIFI and was set up within 30 minutes. I am so pleased with how easy the HP is to set up and to use for printing and scanning. Show details

Terrible printer / scanner I have had this unit for nearly two years and ever since I purchased it when I attempt to go and do a 2 minute print job I end up stuck at my computer trying to get this thing to print. After trying for ages to get it to print finally it will work and print out a copy but trying again to print or even scan once again… Read more

stuck on my computer, sometimes for several hours. Getting it to self diagnose issues is useless as it will keep saying it is on line and connected. Think it will be going in the trash and will buy a different brand

After installing the HP5105 I found it would not work on wifi, so had to connect it via a USB cable, The printer worked fine printing documents from a word processor, however, when i tried using the scan function, i got the following error message: "cannot access the scanner". I tried for hours to get the thing to scan with no luck, then rang… Read more

HP's help desk. After jumping through all the hoops for the help desk, sending pictures of the printer, the printer placard and supplying the model number and stating my problem several times, the help desk walked me through a number of fixes, none worked. The help desk then asked if I would grant remote access to them. i wasn't keen on that idea, but eventually aquiesced and the help desk gained access. They worked on my computer for 2-3 hours but eventually said they couldn't help, so now i am stuck with a printer I cannot scan with. Further to that, I started getting spam emails from casinos, betting sites and a host of other sites, so obviously the help desk sold off my email address. Be warned do not allow remote access to off shore help desks. They are criminal enterprises who sell off you information. Oh, and the HP 5105 is a pile of rubbish, as is the smart app and their help desk. Stay away from HP.

Do not buy HP Smart Tank 5105 – I am so unhappy with this printer. I bought it because of the reputation of Hewlett Packard. Wrong. I cannot get this printer to print duplex, even though that is one of the specs. I have searched and searched the web for answers, and they don't work. Setting up this machine was a major pain. The black printhead had to be replaced and finding the… Read more

correct printhead was a major task. It is not clear in the manual what is the correct serial number. I ended up buying the incorrect printhead and I got NO support from HP. Once I finally got the right printhead, the printer worked but I am far from satisfied. If the feeder runs out of paper it does not continue to print once paper is placed in the feeder. I await more problems...

Scans can't be saved in PDF format – Was looking forward to scanning work documents in pdf format, however it's not available and really disappointed that it's not stated on the box or instructions. Nor did the sales staff have a clue pdf format wasn't in the drop down tabs. It's already set up and frustrated that it will take longer to process business documents in a smaller format to email.

Great 3 in 1 printer for home – This HP Smart Tank 5105 Printer was a dream to set up with clear easy to understand instructions via the app and I had it up and running in no time. The printer comes with four bottles of ink and adding the ink to the tanks was quick and mess free. HP says that it is supposed to be two years worth of ink. This is a 3 in 1 printer so it scans and… Read more

copies as well as a printer. The HP Smart app makes all of these features easy and accessible. It’s available for mobile devices as well as desktop/laptops. These wireless connectivity options, including Wi-Fi and mobile printing, are really convenient.

The print quality is great. I work from home most days and this printer provides me with all the printing needs I require. I’ve tried the scanner and it works well with the app providing a good range of tools to edit the scan.

Overall it offers good quality prints, what appears to be an efficient and cost-effective ink tank system, and easy setup and connectivity options.
