The connectivity/software issues relating to this printer is the worst! (If) it gets working, the value of ink/print ratio is pretty good, but I wake up having nightmares about 'factory resetting' this thing every other week.
Probably our best purchase for more than a year. Excellent demo by Harvey Norman. We opted for the version without scanner (we already had one) so an economical buy and wow, the ink just goes on and on. Never jammed. Faithful in all colours.… Read more
Terrific quality, gone a long way to neutralizing the low opinion of printers in general. Highly recommended.
Follow-up · I wish my car was as reliable.
Absolute drama from day one. Nothing but technical issues and hanging on for hours on the help line. Sent one back. Got a replacement. Mistake. Ultimately, changed internet provider and could not establish a connection. After an hour on the phone and no success, technical support said problem with connection and can't fix so you need to buy a new printer!!!!!! Never again. Be warned, this is an inherentlying faulty product. Show details
I have had this printer for 5 hours and I am considering returning and asking for my money back. This is the most user unfriendly piece of equipment I have bought. The scanning function is a joke. There are no drivers available and if you need to scan a document you are required to log in to an account - what a joke. Show details
After reading all the negative reviews, it was with much trepidation that I purchased an HP Smart Tank 7005. Covered by a "No questions asked" return policy, I set about installing my new printer. Slowly, step by step, I followed the printed instructions. Verify each step carefully. I then went online and did all the WiFi set up using the HP Smart… Read more
App. Job done. Excellent, clear and accurate instructions made the operation a pleasure. The first printed sheet, a full size A4 photograph from my iPhone? STUNNING! Scanning? No sweat. Copy. Easy peasy. Link to Apple, Android and Windows on two phones, an iPad and a Notebook pc. Piece of cake.
Good on you HP.
February 2026. Nothing to say Except....... In almost a year of extensive printing of text and high quality A4 size pictures, the printer has used less than a half of the toner resevoirs!!
unbelievably difficult to set up Customer Service is useless – I purchased this printer nine days ago have not been able to set up air. Print have been on CUSTOMER support for three days. I am so p*ssed. What a piece of crap. Show details

Wow! Best printer- everrrrr – Cost effective way to print large documents (80+ pages) as well as excellent photo printing quality. Cost a little more initially but the ink tanks last so much longer than cartridges. Was simple to set up and link to all devices (laptop, Android, iPhone, macbook) Highly recommend Show details
Solid Printer – I needed a replacement for my Canon TS9060 which had served me well for over 5 years. I reviewed my ink usage and determined that I had spent over $120 per year buying cheaper compatible cartridges. With this in mind, I decided to go for a large tank printer with cheaper ink costs which should save me money in the long run. I also wanted a printer… Read more
that could printer double-sided (duplex). None of the Canon large tank printers in my price range (less than $500) printed duplex, so I ended up looking at Hewlett Packard and chose the Smart Tank 7005 All-in-One which I bought for $448. Estimates ink usage is $54 per year.
The physical setup was very straightforward with the installation of the two printer heads (black and colour) and filling the reservoirs with ink. The WiFi setup was rather frustrating as I have a Windows 7 operating system without the drivers required to run the printer. After a few failures finding the right drivers online, I finally found the right ones and the WiFi was able to detect the printer. After that, I was able to send print jobs from my PC without issue. I found later that I should have created an account with HP before trying to configure my software, as the support area within the account had all the drivers and software required to run the printer and scanner specific to my operating system. The account dashboard also allowed me to register my printer directly and interrogate the printer setup configuration, including firmware versions and page count.
Positives: Worked perfectly after installing printer heads and ink; Ink loading is impressive with valves within the ink bottles which integrate with the tops of the tanks to fill up without spillage; Fast printing with the printer on standby with little delay; duplex printing; Copy & scanning work well; relatively small dimensions; large paper tray which can hold 240 sheets of A4; good support from HP who corrected my warranty period, and followed up with me directly to ensure my satisfaction; user support with device dashboard providing useful resources for printing, copying and scanning; cheap ink which lasts for thousands of pages.
Negatives: The control panel is a bit simplistic and some functions require pressing two buttons simultaneously which is not obvious. However, functions can be operated from the PC interface; although the paper tray is quite big, there is no indication of how much paper is left remaining. I feel that this could be solved by having a clear window in the front of the paper tray to show the amount of paper.
Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this printer.
