This is the biggest piece of junky printer I have ever owned. I have had a number of printers throughout my life: Canon, Epson, and Brother. My brother is about 10 years old and still going strong, but expensive in ink. Now, for the HP Smart Tank 7305, it's a waste of money. I wish I had never bought it. From day one, I had connection issues with… Read more

the WIFI. Finally got that sort of thing to some degree. It is a process to keep it connected and running. If it's been a day or so, I need to go through the setup again and again to get it to work. Also, the print head constantly fails. I have to keep removing them, cleaning them, turning the printer off and back on and waiting and seeing. This process can take a few attempts to get them back to working order. If I am not fighting with the WIFI connection and the print heads. I am fighting with paper jams from the bottom feeder. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO FOR ANOTHER SMART TANK PRINTER. If you want to spend half your time trying to get this thing to work just to print a document, go for it. But I can tell you that you will want to throw it out the window, and your stress levels will go through the roof. I would never buy another HP printer after this. Yet my laptop and desktop are HP, never had an issue with them, but the printer is another story.

Very disappointed with the Smart Tank. The first one failed in less than 12 months, would not power up, and was replaced under warranty. The second one didn’t last much longer before throwing up Print Head error msgs. Removing and reseating the print heads worked for a while but didn’t fix the problem. New print heads were installed but this only… Read more

lasted a couple of weeks before the error msgs returned. After decades of using HP products we have switched brands, fingers crossed the new printer is up to the task.

UPDATE Nov 2025 - Print header error continued to be unresolved. HP Smart Tank 7305 was returned - retailer stated several others has same issue. Refund received. Another brand purchased. My experiences are similar to others. HP Smart Tank 7305 bought 6 months ago promised but hasn't delivered. Have spent more time trying to get it to work… Read more

than using it. Build is flimsy, scanned documents are always skewed, print header problems since day one, replacing the print header has not resolved the problem, connectivity is disappointing, HP "Help" is a misnomer - online support is limited, contacting support is impossible. Print quality is okay when it works.

Terrible You need a degree in engineering to set it up. Painfully convoluted, sign ups and links, add codes etc etc and still not printing. Frustrating beyond compare and I am relatively tech savvy. Don’t not buy get a usb connected printer, keep it simple. This is not, maybe once it works I will feel differently but it has been a few days of tinkering. Awful experience. Show details

I've had a number of problems with the HP Smart Tank 7305 that seem to be shared by other users. The lid rattles and feels flimsy, which affects the overall build quality. It's hard to close. The lid is faulty. The printer sometimes fails to print despite being connected, which undermines its reliability. In addition, the power cord at the back… Read more

is loose and falls out easily, causing unexpected shutdowns.

These are not isolated issues — other reviewers have flagged similar problems. It’s clear that these are design or manufacturing faults that HP needs to address. I expected better quality and performance from a printer at this price point.

It is hard to contact them to report problems.

worst printer ever – This would be the worst printer I have ever bought. It works whenever it wants to. it needs to be turned on and off all the time to reset and then if it works. I am on my second printer now and am about to drop it off to the store before I drop it off a second storey house. Show details

Fairly pricy printer but worth it – The printer construction was quite disappointing, you need to be gentle with scanning /feeder lid as it is hinged rather poorly. The paper tray and print extension is quite flimsy as well. The printer runs quietly compared to previous inkjet ones Ive owned but not as solid. Setting up the printer provided a few hiccups and would suggest setting… Read more ·  1

up manually rather than by phone app. The App for the printer is user friendly and easy to use. The print and scanning quality is quite good. Even the initial purchase price was high compared top other style of printers my ultimate factor in deciding to purchase the printer was the ink costs, being a Tank printer makes it so much cheaper.

Expensive. Some good features but limited functionality & poor quality control – Positives: (1) Economic ink UPDATE Nov 2024: I've just done the first black ink replacement; about 40% left in the colours. I use this printer every day so this is brilliantly economic. (2) Good print quality. (3) Phone App works well UPDATE Nov 2024: The phone App no longer works. The PC App is OK but not as good quality scan. Negatives: (1)… Read more

Documents strand in queue. Need to reinstall & restart often. (2) Document feeder can't handle bulk double-sided scanning. (3) Supplied printheads never worked and had to be replaced. UPDATE Nov 2024: In fairness, I haven't had any further problem with the printheads. (4) The printer is loud & creaky when starting and operating. Overall - Less functional than much cheaper HPs I've previously used.

Performs Everything I Need Very Well – Have had my HP 7305 for 3 weeks now and can happily say I am impressed with everything. It has taken me since 2009 to buy another printer because of previous problems with a high end printer of different, prestigious brand. Went without a printer for over 10 years as a result. But printers can be convenient if they work without problems and so far… Read more

this is exactly what I have received with this HP 7305 all in one. The Smart Tank printing also means much lower cost and mucking around with ongoing ink.

Everything was in the box. Delivered quickly. Setup was surprisingly ZERO problem at all which went way beyond my expectations. Took me about 25 minutes but this was only because I tried to be very careful rather than stuff something up. Double sided printing works no problem for me which surprised me based on other reviews. I can print double sided to a PDF or a range of file types and copy no problem. Scanning works quite well with the software provided. This is all I was really after with a printer.

Colour quality is good. Overall estimate this is moderate to good quality - not bad and not fantastic - somewhere in between. Consistently good which serves my purposes. I purchased the printer primarily for business/convenience rather than specialised photographic prints. Printed paper is captured and stored by the tray so any issue there, as in other reviews, has not happened to me.

The design is minimalist and looks really good where I have placed it. The small design imprint is exactly what I wanted.

After operating the printer for three weeks everything I have asked it to do it has done first time, quickly, minimal noise, and to a very good quality. I managed to get a good price through HP Online and it all works seamlessly with my HP Envy laptop. Nothing to dislike - at all. I got a Care Pack through HP so anything going wrong I have home servicing available which works very well for me from lots of experience with previous HP products.

Very happy with this printer - this is a first for any printer purchase. Time will tell but for now - very well done HP.

Total waste of time – Problems scanning, problems copying, if it works it prints 2 copies. Rattles and shakes. Using good quality paper but it rattles and shakes then jams. Scans when it feels like.Worked well 1st month. Harvey norman exchanged , second one has lasted 6 weeks. Dont buy its just a lot of aggravation and poor qualitycontrol. Show details

Good printer with one annoying failing – Prints well and reliably and I'm enjoying the large paper inpu tray and not worrying about buying print cartridges but ... the tray which catches the output print is not long enough to catch A4 paper and I end up with paper all over the floor if I do multiple prints. I've contacted HP for a longer tray but they were unable to help.

Disappointing doesn't do the job – This has been more trouble than it's worth difficult to set up. Continual paper jams, no way to sort out problem. Can't change copy to different size, Buttons won't always light up have to turn off and start again. Salesman gave wrong information Show details

Does not deliver for the price – When I purchased this printer, I asked for a printer that does double sided scanning & double sided printing and for the price, I was surprised that this was such a manual process (I should have done more research and not trusted the sales rep). It is a pain to set up, the app kept crashing my computer and I can only use the app with Safari, not… Read more

Chrome. It does double sided scan, but I put one page in the document feeder on the printer, then come back to the app on my desktop, hit scan, then go back to the printer turn over the paper, then come back to the app on my desktop, hit scan, then go back to the printer as usually the document feeder will not work each time etc......A very slow manual process. The quality of the scan is good but overall very disappointed.

Frustrating printer – I have been using this printer for months now and when working it produces good prints. However it often drops out and the HP assistant app has not once been able to diagnose and fix the problem. Therefore I have had to delete the printer and reinstall it. On 2 occasions it has told me the the Encryption Certificate has expired so I have had to… Read more

look up how to issue another one and even when I have done that the printer does not come back on line and still tells me the certificate is expired. It is driving me crazy trying to get it to work. If I had known that this would be a problem I would not have bought it.
