Unethical service- I signed up with a deal, found the service lacking and I cancelled it soon after, or so I thought. The cancellation process is deliberately longwinded to allow you to think you've unsubscribed, then they've configured further steps and a further verification. Their team even refer to as a "cancellation journey". Hubbl continues… Read more
to debit you, shows no customer service in light of the service never being used for the months they've charged you, and refuses to refund. They are so disinterested, there is a no reply to their rejection email summed to we understand but tough. I don't know how they are still in business, go elsewhere!
Horrible service. Paid for a $1 trial subscription and was provided an invoice and a confirmation of the trial. Totally my fault to expect high standards from Hubbl but assumed the same process would apply before the subscription auto-renewed for $45.99. It did not happen. I was charged the $45.99 from my account on auto-renewal without a reminder… Read more
or a payment invoice. I only noticed as I happened to be looking through my bank account for another unrelated charge.
When I asked for a refund under the reason that I didn't intend to renew, they were not helpful AT ALL. I know this is not something that is automatically offered by all businesses but many platforms are pretty reasonable about this – Canva comes to mind (great customer experience!)
Seems like a lot of other people have had the same experience.
Tricked into paying for a month i did not need. When you sign up with Hubbl you get Kayo and Binge at the same time. I cancelled via the Binge website, but Kayo kept going. So it’s all under the same umbrella UNTIL you go to cancel and then the process changes, tricking me into paying for a month of a really not very good selection of sports… Read more
anyway Then complaining in a chat to Venkatesh I received no help, just push back saying I had to pay, and can then cancel. Luckily my credit card had bounced, not sure why but that’s by the by. I asked Venkatesh for an escalation so I can talk to someone who can actually get into the system with enough access to void everything . He would not give me this

I bought 2 units for 2 TV's. Great concept but it can take forever for Kayo to load. Also regularly have to change hdmi ports just to get a picture, as recommended by Hubbl support. If they upgraded everything it would be great. Don't waste your money.
Absolutely disgusting. Couldn’t open the app. Got charged for 2 months for this s*it. Cancelled it today. Never again. Garbage
Such a crap platform.. no proper options for cancellation..charged money and even the sign in having problems
This is the worst subscription service! Somehow I ended up with 2 accounts. I sent an email and spoke online, with a rep Sent him all of my details with 2 screenshots of my account that was clearly billed $40 by hubble! Which states kayo and binge, when I already had a kayo subscription $25 p/m. He would not refund my $40! Now I am going to consumer affairs! Disgusting!
Absolutely terrible service across the board. I have it for kayo and kayo app crashes alot, or freezes and plays on slow motion despite netflix and other streaming services having no issues. If your payment doesn't work will take you forever to actually get to the page to make the payment and they charge you extra. Their website design is pathetic. Every aspect of hubbl and kayo is a complete farce.

The WORST company I can recall dealing with in my life - which hasn't been short. I've tried to deal with them to resolve technical issues a number of times via Chat, which is the only option available. This afternoon I spent over an hour in a Chat… Read more

If you’re considering using Hubbl, do yourself a favour and think twice. My experience has been nothing short of appalling, and it raises serious questions about how this company operates. Without my knowledge or consent, my Kayo subscription was… Read more
mysteriously “upgraded” to a more expensive premium plan. At no point did I knowingly authorise this change. There was no clear confirmation, no transparent consent process—just a higher charge appearing out of nowhere. When I raised the issue, expecting a straightforward fix, I was met with a dismissive and frankly insulting response. Hubbl claimed the upgrade was valid and brushed it off as a “change of mind.” That’s not just wrong—it completely ignores the core issue: this was an unauthorised change, not buyer’s remorse. It gets worse. Instead of resolving the issue, they went ahead and cancelled my subscription entirely—again, without my request. So not only was I charged more for something I didn’t agree to, but I was then cut off from the service I had legitimately paid for in the first place. Customer service? Practically non-existent. Multiple attempts to resolve the issue—over weeks—resulted in nothing meaningful. No proper explanation, no accountability, no resolution. Just delays, deflection, and a complete lack of care. At best, this is incompetence. At worst, it feels like a deliberate system designed to extract more money from customers while making it as difficult as possible to challenge it. For a company operating in Australia, this kind of behaviour falls well below what consumers should expect. Transparency, consent, and basic customer support shouldn’t be optional extras—they’re the bare minimum. Bottom line: poor product, worse service, and business practices that are highly questionable. Proceed with extreme caution.
Follow-up · You seriously ask how my experience has been since the last review? It’s worse — significantly worse. Hubbl is currently under investigation by the Queensland Office of Fair Trading regarding unauthorised subscription upgrades and charges, and I am presently awaiting the outcome of that determination. That alone should say enough about the… Read more
Garbage and extremely poor service. The system appears to charge customers unfairly, and there is no proper option to remove a payment method. This creates a serious lack of trust.
Follow-up · You cannot remove your payment method. The price is overprices. Even the subscription is really confusing to on and off, it seems a trap.

Absolutely atrocious. Saw a link to sign up to Binge "Catch all the feels from the BBL season with a Binge subscription!" It was less than Kayo, which I recently cancelled due to overwhelming ads for gambling and bloodsports, so I signed up, based on the "Catch ALL the feels" comment. bleeding faces in my home page. Also I have young kids I want to watch sport with. Catch ALL the feels.
Logged in - two of today's BBL matches are not available on Binge at all - tried to push me to a Kayo subscription! Not ALL the feels at all, just some of the feels. I mean... that's seriously misleading.
Spoke to online help, my fault apparently as I didn't delve into the 132 page Terms and Conditions document where it mentions only select BBL games are shown, on page 123, fourth paragraph. No refund. I can't cancel until the end of the month, either. Online support person blamed me.
Then the HUBBL home page crashes when trying to log in.
Erghhhhh
Now I have to apply for a transaction refund from my bank, so annoying. Avoid Kayo, Binge and HUBBL like the plague.

Let me start by saying this review is about the Hubbl TV Hub device itself, not the subscription services like Kayo or Binge. I’ve seen a flood of negative reviews lately—many people are rightly frustrated with billing issues, app glitches, and poor customer service tied to those platforms. But those problems belong in a separate review category.… Read more
The Hubbl box deserves to be judged on its own merits.
When I first got the Hubbl TV Hub about 18 months ago, I genuinely thought I’d made the wrong call. The YouTube app didn’t support playback speed control, Kayo lacked smart replay features (like jumping to highlights), and the remote was so slippery it felt like it belonged in a soap commercial. Compared to my old Telstra TV, it was a letdown.
But credit where it’s due—Hubbl listened. I sent multiple emails outlining exactly what wasn’t working, and to their credit, they addressed the issues.
As of August 2025, YouTube speed control is now built in, and Kayo highlights work seamlessly. These updates have completely transformed the experience.
What truly sets Hubbl apart is the unified channel list. I’ve got Kayo and dozens of other apps integrated with all the free-to-air channels—ABC, SBS, 7, 9, 10—plus Fox Sports and Sky News. Even though I don’t pay for Fox Sports or live Sky, I can still replay anything. I can jump from Channel 504 AFL to NRL or Fox Sports News during quarter time, and switch between 100+ channels instantly. No other TV box offers this kind of fluidity. On other devices, you have to log out of what you’re watching and open a new app. With Hubbl, it’s seamless—the closest thing I’ve seen to old-school channel surfing.
And the system speed? It’s superior. Hubbl is faster and smoother than both my Samsung TV and Apple TV, which now feel clunky by comparison. It never jams, never lags, and switching between apps is lightning quick.
I’ve even bought a second Hubbl for the shed—that’s how much it’s grown on me.
One last thing: The reason I made an effort to leave a review, I accidentally broke the remote (totally my fault), and Hubbl replaced it free of charge. That kind of service sealed the deal. I won’t be going anywhere. You wont get this type of service from Apple or Samsung.
If you tried Hubbl early on and walked away unimpressed, it’s worth a second look. It’s gone from frustrating to fantastic—and now, it’s my go-to.

to basic Binge at $10/month as it provided the same channels as Foxtel that I was paying $78/month to Foxtel. Basic Binge is for 1 device up to 1080p and 5.1 Dolby atmos surround sound. Standard Binge is for 2 devices up to 4k resolution for a very limited number of shows and movies. I chose Hubbl 4k Hub $99 as it was 4k capable and the only device that had a 7 day TV guide for both the Foxtel channels and free to air channels. Hubbl 4k Hub is easy to setup and also has ability to set favourite channels and a Watch List feature that provides an easy way to watch TV shows on demand eliminating the need to have a record function for shows on the Foxtel channels.
Initially I had many Hubbl issues including "Technical Fault with this program try again later" and failures to connect to the internet over ethernet cable on device startup. These issues occurred at least once every day. This required unplugging the Hubbl box to re-establish an internet connection. After much testing I eventually found both type of errors were due to Hubbl 4k Hub inability to change IP address after our personal mobile phones had taken the Hubbl IP address on multiple occasions when the Hubbl hub was simple switched off.
The solution was to reserve the IP address in the DHCP settings of my TP Link Router by adding a new Reservation using the Hubbl MAC address and desired IP address within the specified DHCP pool. Most router's have this feature. AND Also auto reboot router every week using settings in router.
After these fixes the Hubbl hub connected noticably faster and connected to internet extremely reliably due to its fixed and permanent local IP address. I have had no issues since these fixes were applied.
Pity the Hubbl box does not allow you input manual network addresses like every other device including TVs, DVD, Media players and Foxtel. I believe this would allow even faster & more reliable Hubbl connections with a specified IP address, subnet mask, gateway and primary & secondary DNS.
I found it very easy through Hubbl to change from a standard Binge to Basic Binge subscription and to also cancel my Lifestyle app subscription. For both changes I received immediate emails confirming the changes. However I did notice on the mobile phone it was not very intuitive the need to press "Review Order" then "Confirm" button after selecting the subscription to cancel (or choose edit) that may be reasons why some persons have difficulty cancelling.
I also contacted Hubbl help several time's via the online chat with helpful persons and each time received the info and fixes that I needed. One of the issues was we somehow ended up with 2 Hubbl accounts one with credit card and recent subscriptions and one without. The help desk arranged the transfer of my private mobile number to the active Hubbl account that fixed the issue. Another issue was my PIN did not work so help desk guided me through the process of resetting it.
Procedure for incorrect PIN during setup: By default, your PIN will be the last four digits of the mobile number linked to your account unless you change it. Note: If the mobile number linked to your account is updated, the default PIN will not change. If your PIN isn't being accepted follow these steps: 1. On the mobile device you’re using to scan the QR code, visit hubbl.com.au/logout. 2. Unplug the Hubbl device from the power source. 3. Turn off the broadband modem. The modem must stay off until step 6 has been completed. 4. Connect the Hubbl device to power again. You'll see “No WiFi connection” on screen - scroll down and select Settings. 5. Select System Management, then Resets & Updates. 6. Select Factory Reset, then Continue. 7. Reconnect the broadband modem and follow the prompts on screen to set up the Hubbl device.
I have given all of the above issues as feedback to Hubbl. Another important element is that I do have an extremely reliable NBN network connection via Spintel with minimum speed of 50Mbps. Binge Standard 4k requires at least 25Mbps and Binge Basic 1080p at least 7.5Mbps so both resolutions are well and truly covered.
However it would have been an improvement to receive hard copy of instructions to reveal/understand the following features that in some cases match the Foxtel remote features:
Firmware updates are automatic within 24hrs of new release.
About Hubbl Hub Energy Saving mode: If there's been no activity on the Hubbl remote for 3 hours and 55 minutes, the Hubbl device will enter energy-saving mode and go into standby. You'll see a message appear on screen before the device enters energy-saving mode. To avoid this, just pick up the Hubbl remote. In line with Australian Energy Saving guidelines, it is not possible to disable energy-saving settings on Hubbl.
• To force Hubbl to look for a firmware update, switch Hubbl off at the wall, hold the power button on the bottom of Hubbl, power on and wait for the light on front of Hubbl to flash orange and let it go • If you need to learn IR commands, you can put the Hubble remote in to IR mode by pressing the 4 and 6 buttons simultaneously for ten seconds (and press and hold 1 and 3 buttons for five seconds to switch back to bluetooth)
Accessing the TV Guide: • Via the Home Button: Press the Home button on the remote and scroll down to the "TV Guide" to view all live channels. • Via Voice Control: Press and hold the Voice button on the remote and say "TV Guide". • Via the Home Screen: You can also scroll down the home screen to find and select the TV Guide option.
Using the TV Guide and Mini Guide: • Mini Guide: While a show is playing in full screen, press the Select button to bring up the mini-guide. • Navigating the Mini Guide: Use the up and down navigation buttons in the mini-guide to see what's on now and what's upcoming on other channels. • Viewing Content Details: Pressing Select again in the mini-guide allows you to watch the current show from the start or find more episodes. • Channel Categories: In the full TV Guide, press the left button to view channels by category. • Upcoming Programs: Press and hold the right button to quickly jump ahead by days and view upcoming content.
Hidden undocumented features on Hubbl Remote: 1. Fast Forward & Rewind by holding right or left buttons 2. Voice commands to find apps or channels, search for content, control playback and change settings. 3. Button with 3 white dots is for searching. 4. + button to add content you want to watch later to your Watchlist. 5. Seven day TV Guide for Binge & free to air live channels that can be sorted by category. 6. Mini TV Guide while a show is playing in full screen, press the Select button to bring up the mini-guide. 7. Change channels using up & down buttons, channels numbers or favourite channel sequence number. 8. Ability to learn IR commands 9. Ability Unpair & re-pair the Hubbl remote to the hub
