Flexible fittings, not fit for purpose
We fitted this shelf to a plaster board wall using large wallmates as advised by our local hardware store. We placed a printer weighing less than a kilo on the shelf. After 30 minutes the shelf fell off the wall, bringing the hidden fitting out of the wall. After we repaired the massive holes in the plasterboard we found studs and screwed the fitting into the wall studs. After a day the shelf was sloping forward because the hidden metal fitting just isn't sturdy enough. Now we have fitted timber brackets underneath it.
These shelves work much better on brick walls than plasterboard. I find them really painful to install on plasterboard and also probably a bit dangerous from a safety perspective. Still they look great and are a great value for money.
Looks good, cheap
Hard to install on plasterboard, a bit unsafe on plasterboard.
