culprits. This was confirmed when inspecting the blanket I found that the positive wire had melted a plastic closed-end connector which was badly crimped and completely inadequate for the cables used in the blanket.
Follow-up · In the opinion of a qualified electrician, the wiring needs better insulation and closed-end connectors (plastic) need replacing with heavy duty screw connectors. My trip was severely affected because I wasn’t able to use the blanket when camping off-grid I fixed the blanket when I was able to purchase closed end screw connectors (heavy duty) and replace the existing plastic connectors.

Far too long to despatch item. 7 days to pick & despatch 2 items – It took ITechworld 7 days to dispatch my $650 item. Salesman that took the order ensured next day dispatch. Subsequent emails 3 days later I was told it had been shipped. Scanning suggests item was dispatched 4 days after those secondary emails. 300 w solar blanket – I purchased this solar blanket for added reliability when free camping. I also have a 100w blanket, now with both I can run the caravan through 40w dcdc attached to 54 amp hour battery and portable fridges hooked up to 100 amp hour battery with 20w dcdc charger. Have not yet used it but will have ample opportunity doing the loop of Australia.
