This is a quieter fan than the one it replaced. That is appreciated. It also has a set of flaps which close when it is not in use so you don’t lose heat in winter. It is fairly well thought out and easy to install. BUT it doesn’t cope with ventilation as well as the previous fan or even the one before that. It has a grill cover where water and condensation accumulate and drop onto the floor. The box says ensure there is adequate airflow into the room. It is just 1 metre from an open window which has always provided good ventilation for the previous (noisy) fan - which failed after 6 years. It is a good reminder not to shower for too long but it takes time to wash your hair anyway. It leaves a puddle on the floor when I was my hair. NOT RECOMMENDED. AVOID. GET SOMETHING ELSE.

Follow-up  · We have opted to keep it rather than return it, because I can actually swap the fan in the small separate toilet room with the one in the bathroom. It is a different design (but it is noisier). In the meantime, short showers are required. Leaving the bathroom door open helps a bit. You can put a small towel on the floor below the fan. The installation was made easier by the design of the unit. When the screws are adjusted it causes small brackets to move into position using angled guides. This means the assembly is easy compared to other fan assemblies I have used.

Mega flow – If you want mega flow using low wattage this is the best fan going around. It has a shroud and damper blades that open up when the unit is switched on and the reverse when it’s switched off. This stops draft / heat loss through the exhaust fan. Previously had the Alec low watt exhaust fan and had replaced it twice in two years- they’re garbage. The fan pushes 624 cubic meters p/h- and you can really hear the air rushing through. There is no fan rattling sound or bearing noise. I’m not gonna lie it was a real rubbish to install. The black hooks kept getting stuck or just not working. I managed to get two out of three screwed up and the last I had to get in the roof to finish it off.

If you have flow problems or need a silent (only air noise) low watt fan then this one is for you.
