CCTV failed after a year, and getting Jim's to do a warranty job was a nightmare! Emails, phone calls and months of waiting and no response. So yes they may be good during install (as that's when they get paid), but if you need after sales service then you're out of luck.

professional, knowledgeable and easy to deal with. However, once he left the business the experience became much more difficult. While the Jim’s brand gives the impression of a single organisation, the reality of the franchise model means continuity can become challenging when the original technician is no longer involved. In my case there were several follow-up technicians, multiple assurances that outstanding issues would be addressed, and a number of false starts before anything actually progressed. Resolving the matter of not fit for purpose items ultimately required around six months of correspondence and escalation before it was finally addressed. To Jim’s credit, the direct costs associated with the issue were eventually reimbursed through their warranty process. However, the amount of time and persistence required to reach that point was considerable. Overall, the equipment itself has been good, but my experience highlighted that support within a franchise structure can become uneven once the original installer is no longer operating.

Can I give zero stars? I would advise against using this organisation for anything remotely to do with security, as they seem to be using poor materials for their jobs. week to resolve issues i have been having from work done less than a year ago, have got one response but have yet to receive any further contact despite my multiple follow ups. I'll now have to employ someone else to come out and fix the problems they have left behind.

I thought my original request was simple. I just needed them to supply and run Ethernet cabling and attach some brand new cameras to the outside of my house that i supplied. Unfortunately this simple task was too much for Jims Security, and what i got was poor and defective cabling which at times has been unusable and defective.

- 1 cable run to an access point could not supply gigabit speed despite the use of cat6. They came to investigate and try to resolve but were unsuccessful despite running another cable. in the end i was fed up and made them run a cable that i supplied which i knew worked. i was not offered financial compensation for this despite their cables being faulty. - 4 of the 5 cable runs to my cameras do not supply gigabit speeds and are running at fast ethernet speed despite cat5e cabling used. When i queried this i got a flippant response of 'current cameras do not require this much bandwidth' which is neither here nor there and just proves the cabling used is of poor quality /or defective. - 1 of the 5 cable cable runs to my cameras has completely failed now and it has been less than a year since work was performed. Again, poor and defective cabling is to blame as i removed the camera and it was operating fine on my own cabling.

I had a Dahua alarm system installed for $2,000. The price for a 3 motion detector system on the Jim's website is $1,095. I added some items and I turns out I was overcharged $450 which Jim's security cannot justify. False advertising by Jim's security! Hire at your own risk. I was broken into a day prior and needed to feel secure asap. I feel taken advantage of by Jim's security. This is NOT an honest business. Review has been updated

I am unsatisfied and annoyed with the service being offered. I was asked to pay for the investigation and fault finding which I was already aware of. Wasted my money for knowing issue which I was already aware of

a day I’ve worked out a way to stop it beeping as it kept me up all night with the stupid beeping of the key pad.I contacted Jim’s Security head office twice but they just ended up ignoring me.I wonder if the workmanship was because the installer used all the old wires and other old connections from the previous Bosch security alarm.Ill never know but I wouldn’t want the same installer back in my home so I’m investigating getting a new different security alarm.

Jims franchise has unlawful access to my security cameras – I got cameras installed, they don’t work to capacity. Jims out source their jobs to dodgy people. we attended the shop the next day. I called the installer from Jims and only after i threatened to ring the Jims banner did he agree to attending site. Once he attended, he took no accountability for the cameras not recording and the sensorsnot noticing the door opening and someone entering and robbing the shop. He just said it was bad luck.... Very unprofessional service and to be told its bad luck we were robbed and the system both cameras and alarm failed is absolutely appalling. We are now in the process of escalating the issue and won't be using or recommending Jims security again

EXCELLENT FRIENDLY SERVICE – I am unable to stand for long, or to climb ladders, so I organised through Jims Group to have their SECURITY service organise to install security cameras around my house. DANIEL contacted me to let me know his arrival time, and arrived on time. he installed the systems quickly and efficiently, and even helped me lift a heavy item, unrelated to the job. EXCELLENT, can't speak more highly of the service and help he provided.

Very poor after service and disrespectful – Having spent in the region of $4k on security, alarm and smart bell the service becomes increasingly combative if you challenge any issues. booked work has to take priority. I thought I had booked a call out when I rang six days ago. Engaged another company this afternoon $200 call out but reliable, respectful and not passive aggressive. As a single female this company is the one I will be using in future and just wish I had used them initially. Waste of time escalating complaints- you as the customer are obviously in the wrong.

Not stick to the appointment time, not provide a pdf quotation in time – Late for inspection and quotation appointment, after the tradie came, never gave a written pdf quotation, although requested it.

Excellent Service – This is the third time Anish has worked for us, via Jim's Security. He contacted us promptly, provided efficient, knowledgeable and skilled service and was courteous and friendly. Highly recommended
