Pretty good for the money – Pretty good headset, nice budget option. The smartphone holder could be improved, as when I was inserting a Galaxy s4 in to the holder, the spring sprung back, and the s4 fell to the floor. Nice padding for the forehead.

Un-immersive – A virtual reality headset is meant to facilitate an immersive experience. The VR-X does not. With a standard sized smartphone (such as an iPhone 6 or Samsung s7) your field of view does not extend all the way to the sides, meaning you have black ends visible instead. It's like looking through a spyhole rather than "being there". Also, the spring latch for your phone has a habit of snapping back, popping your phone out of the casing like a piece of toast.

In this market, you obviously get what you pay for. If you want to go a step further than Cardboard, shell out the extra dosh for Daydream.
